I watch enough of these to understand that if you are not humble, nature will humble you.
It sucks but when he ran out of fence after following it for a few hours, he should have just switched directions and followed the fence back the other direction instead of going off on his own
I instantly knew if I was him I would just walk the other way the whole night until I came upon a person.. this man decided going OFF TRAIL was better then staying on the main thing that would get him found
It was already night time. He had no idea how long the walk in the opposite direction was going to be. With health issues, he was best to seek refuge for the night.
@@LouiseAus10 Given that the daytime means dangerous heat, I think he was probably better off hoofing it at night.
I couldn't agree more!!!
I literally counted 6 times that he and the narrator stated the golden rule: “if ever lost stay put”. Why turn back and go anywhere omg 🤦🏾♀️ lol
People have no idea how easy it is to get lost in the wilderness. I am an experienced camper and hiker and I got lost in the Arizona desert plus many prior near misses. The only thing that saved me was a satellite phone. I didn't have to tell the first responders my location. They told me they knew my location and asked me to stay put. Few hours later, they found me.
Getting lost is easy but if you have a beacon or two, you shouldn't be lost for long.
I don't have that problem since I get lost outside of my own home. No need for GPS either, since it's useless with me.
Never underestimate the native aboriginal Australians ability to track and conquer the outback. Even though this guy did everything he could to not be found, the aborigines still found him.
Never trust an aboriginal. It will save your life.
Best comment here lol.
The Australian Outback is high on my list of places to not be stranded
What this guy really needs is a legal guardian.
💯😆🤭😭
😂😂😂
Theo could have followed the motorbike track back 🤦🏻♀️
I love this series,I wish there were some new ones to watch.
That's a terrible thing to say!! You want people to go through hell for your entertainment!!!
These are experiences that people are having anyway.
The re-enactments are for entertainment.
If you were all that compassionate, YOU wouldn't be watching it.
@@dondamon4669 yes we do mf haha
Try Ray Mears bushcraft :)
@@dondamon4669she said she loved the series not what the people went through obviously! I also love true crime doesn’t mean I love crime happening.
We love watching these in order to best protect ourselves from these experiences.
Guy has a heart condition, leaves his medication and his GPS and goes out into some of the most inhospitable territory on the planet. Then, despite his best efforts to stay lost the aborigines find him. This guy has a special connection to Darwin. I bet thats where he lives.
To be fair, I don't carry my beta blockers and ace inhibitors with me everywhere.
But I would carry the GPS if I went out like that so...
Or a hat
Wore a yellow shirt to blend in with the sand.
Spot on your right what was he thinking 🤔
@@billbombshiggy9254they aren't quite as important as this guy's heart medication. I have to take meds and I have a couple of days worth that go everywhere with me.
This one should be called "I almost died from neglecting my own health and wonton stupidity"
Perfect!!! So sick of people making dumb decisions. It gets old....
leave the wontons out of this
Yea he ate a dish at the chinese restaurant called "sum dum guy".
What a goof. So many mistakes. He's lucky he's alive. Good heart surgery.
Yeh the doc that put those veins from his leg in the his heart is the real MVP of this epic tale of hide and go seek in the fucking Outback Bush. What an R Tard!
This man is so dense it's beyond the point of suicidal. I've watched hundreds of these videos but this guy is the first one who actually tried not to be found.
He panic that is why he didn't stay where he at. He thought he could find a way. But he was wrong.
Yea but he's so adorable that I forgive him.
Bro, the dumbest guy has to be in the Zambezi River episode where the guy decided to charge at a crocodile and got wrecked. I have no words for that guy.
@@keshavmahabir4592or the kayaking guy 😂😂😂
@collinmonette9795 😆 that guy was special
This guy….
“Hmm this fence will lead me to a village if I follow it in the right direction.”
After determining the first direction was incorrect the obvious answer is to just turn around and go back the other way until you get to the village. Instead this guy leaves the fence entirely and wanders all over the place for days.
Exactly!!! This guy did everything wrong! No water, no food, no phone, no gps, no medicine, etc, etc! Yikes!! It's a miracle he survived! 🤔
And in a yellow shirt in a yellow desert.
When you are tired and panicked, you stop thinking about such trivial options and do random weird shit instead. When I was lost on my street (!) in a new city, I also didn't realize that I should have just walked along the road (although Spanish streets are a maze) and check every house number patiently, instead I was running around and asking passerbys if they knew the directions to my house
This guy survived to teach us a lesson.
its always easier to say shit when sitting on a computer not in danger at all versus actually being in the situation
Rescue planes flying that high can never see even a large herd of elephants. 😬
the elephants are the ones really in trouble and man knows exactly where they are..+ + + + + +
Those aboriginal men who found him prove that the natives know this land and how and where anybody's going to move about on it
The aboriginals get stranded too. I grew up in the NT; it's not uncommon for them to get trapped in the bush, devoid of water and fuel, after a car breakdown, which they can't fix, hence many abandoned cars in the Outback.
@@LouiseAus10 well I guess anybody could get stranded your right
I mean it was theirs before it was stolen lol
The aboriginals tracked him down like the earth masters they are😊
Well said.
They indeed the master of that land.
God bless these ppl! Real use high IQ !
well what else you expect this lovely people lived in australia for almost 100k years about a tenth of a million
The aborigines get lost in the bush too. They sometimes travel without sufficient water and fuel, often with a car load of kids. So many abandoned motor vehicles in the outback--once the car breaks down or gets a flat tyre, they leave it.
"i know the whole crew is looking for me" continues to walk away from rescue
A man who got saved despite his best attempts at not being
This guy was an idiot!
Im no expert by far. But i thought about the metal detector breaking it up to find something shinny that would reflect the sun to get noticed 🤔
the aboriginals have lived in Australia for more then 50k years they use their natural resources and traditionals love this epidsode
Yeah, the white man got developed with a gps...been using it for hundreds of thousand of years...lol
Well we all know from this guy! If you get lost, STAY PUT!
Poor planning is the common theme with so many of these avoidable calamities.
Ill save you 48 mins.. this guy went metal detecting in the middle of nowhere, did his best to stay as lost as possible for 5 days and then got rescued.😂😂😂
Mean 😮
Mean😮
It's still fun to watch dumb people do dumb things for 48 minutes 😂
WORD. Not a very smart Aussie. far out.
And made sure he held on to his metal detector as long as he could.
I would have turned around and walked back the other way that night! Been to the village by morning having a coffee ☕️.
Yup I would have too!

Punishment for people who are overconfident.
It's called arrogance ;)
LOL...I thought it was just me until I read the comments..Seems he put all his efforts into staying lost AND using up all his energy to get as lost as possible and weaken himself.and just in case the plane see's me, I wont make an effort to be seen...2 times is enough, I tinker with my metal detector as it flies near..THEN cuss them out. I'll even walk away from the fence which was a lifeline to help. I am determined "To not make it" lol. Hey!! lets drop my protection to help myself get eaten if I'm lucky lol. Bury me with my metal detector...AND I'll even brick myself up into a cave to almost GUARANTEE I wont be found in time...Rescuers will never catch me alive...I'm to crafty lol. This was the most ridiculous episode (yet enjoyable) I've seen. He truly "Shouldnt be alive" HIS CHOICE ! 😂😂. However, he's gotta be most most fit heart patient in the world..5 days! geez! Glad they found him though. geez not the sharpest pencil in the box.
These episodes are so valuable. I've learned so much after just a few. Such a simple thing could be the difference between living and dying in a situation like this. Literally a neon shirt or high visibility gear could have gotten him rescued a lot sooner
Yes ...need to have good awareness of what colours contrast with the terrain ....as seen from a search plane
I would just go back the other way if the fence line ran out
yoo same
Among the whole team of rescuers, the 2 native men found him! Those 2 brave men are the true heroes!
Yup, that's how it works. The people that find them are heroes. All the others that were out there looking are chumps
@@RuminatingWizardyes you've nailed it! Everyone who tries to rescue one of these selfish numpties who take unnecessary risks is a hero. My nephew is a volunteer with mountain rescue here in the UK and is now training to also join a lifeboat team. Scares me to death but I'm very proud of him!
That cave would've been full of spiders, for sure
😮💨I’ve been looking for another episode I haven’t watched. This came at the right time ! Thank you 🙏🏾

@@jason-xq6gc yeah ik
Amazing, i loved this one !
Myself and my best friend were hunting when we got lost in a swampy forest, it was winter. We entered at 6am. Amazingly enough i found our way back 13 hours later. I did mark our trail but when it got dark you couldn't see at all, it was pitch black out. A search party of 13 were looking for us.
We had been warned not to go in to far, apparently 7 hunters entered and were never found.
We were very lucky.
Good grief! How heavy is a GPS?!? Ya gotta play it safe! 🤨
🤣🤣🤣
So his 2 friends with a car didn't bother to at least look for him before it got dark
It appears that some people never heard of taking a light pack for the situation’s. They can be life-saving.
I just don't understand why he kept on going forward , the minute he knewd that he was lost,,,, I just hope he learned his lesson,
I hope he kept that piece of gold this whole time, it better have been worth his life
This story makes no sense. Why would he not have his GPS on him? Why wouldn't the guys in the truck honk the horn to help? Why leave the fence?
What do you expect for those dumb people?😂
Was thinking drive some, repeatedly honking horn (better yet a bullhorn calling his name), then stop to listen for a response: "Here!" "HELP!"
Pretty dumb thing to do . Guess he learned a hard lesson . And put a lot of people looking for him out .
Thank the universe for those Aboriginals ❤🖤💛 Those people get overlooked so much and I can't stand it! Amazing men! Strong women they have, as well! I'd love an aboriginal man to pieces ❤ We don't have them here in the states. We have Indigenous people, but they get more praise then the media would put out. I know, my Grandmother is of of them 😉. But I've watched so many documentaries on Australian Aboriginals, I used to talk to one online years ago. Coolest people ever 😎 ❤
That guy is one GIANT silly goose
Hi gorgeous Jennifer ❤
Why the hell didnt you take brush and create a dust cloud?
The weirdest rescue ever.
1. Why didn't he climb over the fence to stay safe from dingos?
2. Why didn't he follow the fence on the opposite direction knowing that the other side just went deeper into the outback?
3. Why use an airplane for a rescue when a helicopter would make much more sense? A helicopter has better visibility and if it spots the victim can land anywhere to rescue him on the spot.
4. Why the guy doesn't have a mobile phone with him?
Because he was trying to go the other way ....
Literally the planes never spot them and they have one job which is to spot them
@@courtneystevens6548 Rescue should go through Where's Waldo training. I'm serious if they can't find Waldo they won't find someone lost.
@@courtneystevens6548 Helicopters never spot them either
It's maddening:)
I can understand at the beach but who drops loose change in the desert?
I thought that in the middle of nowhere 🤔
This show should be called I Shouldn't Be Alive Because I'm So Stupid.
Most of these episodes are about people who trek into the middle of nowhere and don't take any water, cell phones, or any other survival supplies. 👌
Omg I love these episodes soo much I think I’m going to cry 😢

Wouldn't you just walk in the direction the plane flies off in just in case it's flying back to the people? I wouldn't walk further away from it.
John mcafee lost in the outback?!?!?!? This is cinematic gold
Oh no not the dingoes 😂😂😂
it's very sad but let's take sometime and watch the scene at 26:00min how he reacted when he the plane came back again 🤣🤣
At least take ya shirt of wave it around ya head ya dingo 😂

This dude did everything wrong, kinda frustrating to watch lol
The rescue team could have sent a helicopter instead of a plane 😔
Real easy to say that when hindsight is 20 20..
@@TheJacksfilms yea your right, especially when someone replies to someones comment yet they themselves fall victim to their own statement 😀🖕.
@ryanundead1383 lol get mad kid. You're**
You're so right!! Unbelievable!! Talk about no common sense, and not an ounce of preparedness!! It's a miracle he survived.
That GPS tracker is huge and very heavy. Not surprised he left it in the car…. 😮
Like come on sir.. u gone base everything on the sun not knowing the weather for the day! The gps watch was left for no good reason at all! It’s like he put himself in a real life suicide mission but amen god still looks out for babies and fools
If god looks out for babies, why does he give them cancer?
Bro if he would have died the cause would have been natural selection 😂😂 what a fool
Thank you very much ❤
What a strong man, and a loving couple.
Strong but not smart
This is my favorite episode
This guy has the worst survival instincts i think I've ever seen. Every one of his decisions is exactly what you're NOT supposed to do.
Theo made mistakes but at least he was man enough to get interviewed and share. Glad he’s still with us to tell the tale
I'd wager a solid 75% of the stories on this show could have easily been avoided with just a sprinkle of common sense. With that said, this guy f*cked up so obviously, severely amd frequently that I can't help but wonder if he was trying to land an episode on "I Shouldn't Be Alive". If so, he nailed it!
You should have over 1k on your comments even you tube hates common sense!!
Wear red shirts when exploring deserts & bring your damn GPS.
Such a very good and good looking actor on this one!!
The guy has a knife and is near a tree and some vegetation that can provide a bit of moist.
Anyway, if you are anything like this guy, please stay at home!
😔😑🥺😳😮
Great story
The dingo ate my husband!
Love the series
Amazing aborigines. Thanks for their knowledge.
They get lost too, but this was their backyard.
Them locals boy.. they don't play
Oscars all around for this performance 😂
Just only because you're a hater 😂😂😂
Probably a racist too
No footprints to follow back? Or did the wind blow them away
1. He shouldn't have wandered off once he figured out he was lost (he had two people with him who would report him missing within hours, and a search would begin in the morning).
2. He shouldn't have left the fence (it was his only connection to something human made, and probably leads to a road or building).
3. Walk during the night to fight the cold, sleep during the day to lose less water from the sun.
4. You need a large pile of fluffy tinder to light with the battery wire spark method, spend some time gathering fluff and place the wires into the middle of the fluff, and have slightly larger tinder/leaves/twigs/sticks ready to go nearby.
5. Make a large "X" or "SOS" out of rocks in a flat open area which planes can easily spot, or find a reflective piece of metal or glass to flash the sunlight back at a rescue plane or motorcycle/etc.
6. Once the battery was dead, save handfuls of wire to use as string, and leave the heavy metal detector behind, or rip the end off and use it as a walking stick, but KEEP THE PICK AS A WEAPON/TOOL!
It is absolutely amazing that he survived with all the major things he didn't know about survival!
If he was wearing anything close to what the actor had on, he completely blended in to the desert.
Yes he was 47:08
Breaking Bad : Aussie Outback
This show should be called 'I Shouldn't be Alive because I'm a DUMBASS and make bad decisions.'
I wonder how many times they've said "needle in a haystack" in this series.
What I’ve learned from these- never go anywhere without vital pills, food, water, gps, satelite phone, etc. I’ve also learned that helicopters in general do not spot people
They will if the SOS lettering is tall enough .....much taller than anyone would expect
...add a smoke fire from dawn ....so always pack a Bic lighter or three
How silly to go out in the outback with no water from Nanna di in Australia
And a hat
As an older woman who learnt to wolf-whistle as a young girl of about 10 yrs, i wonder why in all these rescue videos i have seen people shout and wave 😢if you cant whistle keep one with each of you if on an adventure perhaps (along with all other essentials, should you get stranded / injured during your choice of activities 🤦♀️🙏
Man dude got himself lost lost and kept getting lost 😂
Can’t get over how many mistakes this guy made.
He was greedy, he said just my luck, picking the wrong direction, he could have been grateful for having a triple bypass and being alive.
Man, luck is everything.
You could scratch out SOS so the plane sees it?
Yes ...or rocks ...or branches....make letters much taller than you think ....like 30 feet
This guy could have tried to light a fire. He maybe could have removed his shirt and waved it around when the plane flew over. Mainly, he should have stayed where he was in the first place.
wave his trousers...really...if they contrast with the ground more
Thanks for sharing a very interesting real story !
But..... you did so many crazy things , goingmout hungring with a jeart condition and no essential, critical prep, and wrong decision couple of times !
Thanks God! you survived!
We all learn from
miatake
Seems like dark rocks & scrub brush arranged into a large ”X” would’ve been a great way to become visible to the search plane…
Yes or rocks as high as 30 feet in an SOS ......
the actor that played him looks like iggy pop!
What is the point to a search plane if they don’t even look at the windows to find someone right below them?😂
...see comments on his colours blending in too much
And this folks is what happens when you become too cocky and too greedy and have zero survival skills
I got lost trying to find me car in the parking lot last week, but I'm a genius compared to this bloke.
Having heart attack is scary
I'm fascinated by aboriginals in Australia
