We use 10w60 castrol as temperatures here in the Netherlands don’t drop below zero so much. And mostly these cars are driven in warmer weather conditions. You could use 5w50 as a good alternative.
I have a question about the DCT transmission from s65 engine. Can you connect it to the s85 if yes does anything needs to be replaced? because i saw they seem pretty similar accept the input shaft. Anyways congrats on your project I love it
Yes it connects to the s85 with a minor modification. Nothing big and BMW has build a M5 CSL DCT version that never went into production. So yes it fits.

Curious, what oil are you using in the S85....10w60 or 5w50 etc. I am guessing stock rod bearing tolerances. Thanks
