Intarsia/Segmentation Horse

  • I found a stained glass pattern of a horse and used it for an intarsia pattern. Since I cut most of the head and the mane out of the same pieces of wood it is called segmentation. But I did use other pieces too so that would also make it an intarsia! I used walnut, zebra wood, wenge, and a small piece of pecan.
    Job 39:24 (NCV) With great excitement, the horse races over the ground; and it cannot stand still when it hears the trumpet.

    Cy, I have been using Locktight with blue tape for some time now. I had all kinds of problems with the movable 100 variety so I switched to the 300 variety and no problemo. And for putting the pattern down I use a hard roller I got at Michaels craft store works wonderful w/no sticky fingers. Oh, one last thing I spray the tape not the pattern.

    • @CysCorner
      @CysCorner  6 років тому

      Some good ideas here. I must have the 300 variety of Loctite, I will check that. Also a roller is a great idea too!!!

    Hi Cy; You might want to try Peel & Stick transfer paper rather than blue painter's tape. I got the idea fro Steve Good. It works very well & does not leave any stickiness on the wood and pulls off the wood real easy. I get it at Walmart for about $6 and it is about 30' of paper . Love your projects. Rod

    When you're using spray mount for small pieces use a cocktail stick to hold them down it's much easier that's what I use anywhere 💋💋💋

    Hi Cy
    I have been a subscriber of your channel for a long long time. I enjoy your videos. I asked you in the past to do tutorials on doing an Intarsia project from start to finish. You were so kind and did 7 or so step videos thanks. What I need to know is the make of your orange dust mask. I hope I can get it in UK.

    • @CysCorner
      @CysCorner  6 років тому

      Hello, it is called an RZ Mask. I have a link for it in the description box of the video, it should take you right to it. I hope they ship to the UK too!

      Is it intarsia that you are interested in learning or all around woodworking? For intarsia I read books by Judy Gale Roberts and Kathy Wise, those were great to get me started in intarsia. As for woodworking, there are a ton of folks out there on UA-cam, I have so many favorites it is hard to recommend someone. Email me if you need some more info. undeniablycy@gmail.com
