Just did the hose on mine, and it's definitely still making that noise, although....I have yet to really hit the road in it. I've been freaking out about the steering gear/box needing possible replacement etc. ....
Hi Terry, I would think the noise comes from the power stering pump. Check and make sure you have enough fluid in the pump. Perhaps if you fillied it after replacing the hose, once you started it there was enough air in the hose that once the system circulated it brought the pump fluid level back down? Another possibility probably not as likely is if the serpentine belt is loose or slipping on the power steering pump. Since the serpentine has a spring loaded tensioner it shouldn't be loose. Did you spill any power stering fluid on the pulleys or belt? The older manually tightened belts would make a power steering pump cherp if the belt needed tightening. Hope this helps.
When you change a power steering hose, you need to bleed the air out of the system. You do this by turning the wheel all the way back and forth until the noise is gone. You’ll need the check the fluid level a few time as you do this.
Was wondering if you know the name of the part for the power steering ?
I have an 04 Jeep but it has the 4.7 with the hydo fan. If the PS goes dry or goes out so does my cooling system. I have the leak between the reservoir and the pump. Bought the pump without the reservoir but put it together it leaked. new pump, same reservoir, new o-ring together as normal. In all the video's, bleeding them is the hardest part to do bc of the foaming. Great video and YES, bought and PAID FOR by the blood of Jesus Christ. My Jeep has never ran out of fluid because I keep dumping it in. The shop said I need a new gear box or whatever. They wanted $800 LMFAO. it has a little slack still in the wheel after I did the tie rods. Any idea what to do? I heard very slightly tighten the gear box bolt. But my fluid is coming out pretty fast so I’m wondering if it would even be worth trying or just to dump more money into it..
I bought a used gearbox from a junkyard ($50) trying to fix that little slack I still have it. I changed all the front suspension parts except for track bar. That's my next step

Hi Bruce, If the pump is leaking from the shaft I would replace it with remanufactured pump or if you tight for $ you could try a junk yard. The hoses are the most common to leak so check it out and make sure that is not what you are dealing with. Hope this helps.
Where can i go buy a new hose
I would go to autozone, advanced auto parts, pepboys, or any local auto parts dealer, The Jeep dealership is always more expensive.

I'm an Atheist, therefore, I suppose my power steering problem is beyond supernatural assistance. Then again, when I saw the pool of fluid on my garage floor, and already heard the tell-tale noise, I did sound off, "Jesus Christ! What next?" Then suddenly, my cordless drill battery went dead. Ah ha! That was proof that an ancient tale from the Middle East, where entire nations blow each other up in the name of differing, religious tales, was true! Men flying off mountain tops, oceans parting like Newport Beach creating a road to Catalina being formed, long haired white guys that died horrific deaths before being put in man-caves...only to come back to life and and say, "Let's Party!" It all makes perfect sense! Forget the repair; I'm gonna blow my head off so I can go to the magic place where Jeeps run perfectly, forever! But b-4 I go, I'm getting a T-shirt with the proper acronym 'FBIC'! Man! What a wonderful world!

After I came to know the Lord, science then proved the existence of God to me through scientific facts. Sounds crazy doesn't it. Try googling pictures or videos of all the chariot parts that are at the bottom of the Red Sea where Moses crossed. Try studying a biblical 6000 year old earth and pictures of fossilized trees upside down in the walls of the Grand Canyon going through all those layers that were supposed to be created by sediment for millions of years. There is so much geological evidence out there that proves the bible yet you won't hear about it on CNN or the 6 o'clock news. You have to want to know the truth to find the truth. BTW did you know there is no such thing as and atheist? Consider this... of all the worlds knowledge available to man, how much of this knowledge do you have stored in your brain? If you said 10% you would probably be the smartest guy in the world. So consider of all the worlds knowledge you don't have in stored in your brain (90%), what is the possibility there is proof out there that God exist? So basically you are an Agnostic who doesn't know if God exist because you haven't yet seen any knowledge to prove to you the God exist. Scary thought...What happens if you are wrong.

I think my low pressure hose is leaking it has oil all over it it sprayed over on the pulley at the top of my motor I filled it up an left the cap loose so it's not under pressure seems to work for now till I get it home
I was thinking the power steering pump went out it over the crazy noise it makes
