Ive always loved the song "Got to be there" because its a song for their little sister, Janet, who was a new baby at the time. Its seriously my favorite.
Michael Jackson was not joking when he said he sacrificed his childhood more than his siblings because he was the family’s cash cow 🐄 Janet is the only one that somwhat got away from his shadow
It 's odd (in retrospect) having grown up with Michael Jackson (he was about 8 years older than me) being a child at the same time. I saw the Jackson 5 in concert for the first time when I was 4 years old (which made him 12-13 at the most). I had no friggin' clue that he was a child prodigy. My parents just bought their records for us (we loved them and learned every lyric) and took us to that concert. A decade and change later (having attended multiple Jackson concerts in between), the whole world twisted on its axis when Michael Jackson became MICHAEL JACKSON. I'd never stopped being a fan. That whole "Thriller" era was just BONKERS. After that, I flew home to L.A. from college in Tennessee - TWICE - because MJ got sick in November and the last two dates of the Bad Tour were rescheduled for January. In 2002, I actually got to spend 5 days at Neverland and see him be a regular dad. Believe me or don't (I couldn't care less), but Chris Tucker and I were friends (his first platonic female friend - everybody in his family couldn't stop telling me that) before he was famous , and we called ourselves "working" there; we accomplished next to nothing lol. There are no words for how much fun we had inside MJ's bubble😁.
Jacob! I just discovered your channel and I am SO excited that you are a Michael Jackson journey! I "discovered" Mj 3 years ago and am now an absolute superfan of everything he ever did. I love that you are reacting in order. Some suggestions as well as answers to questions you asked: 1) Please consider reacting to the Jackson 5 and the Jacksons as you progress. Michael's Motown albums came after a string of number 1 hits with the Jackson 5. Those albums are incredible. So before you get to the "Forever, Michael" album reaction (which is the first solo album where his voice changes), please go back and react to the Jackson 5 albums. 2) Once you start progressing to his adult voice, you'll want to react to the Jacksons as you react to solo Michael. So, if you aren't familiar, the Jackson 5 left Motown in the mid-70s and signed with another record label. At this point they switched their name to The Jacksons. So before you react to "Off the Wall," which is Michael's first ADULT solo album, please PLEASE listen to The Jacksons albums. This is the order: "The Jacksons" 1976 "Goin Places" 1977 "Destiny" 1978 "Off the Wall" (Michael Jackson) 1979 "Triumph" 1980 "Thriller" (Michael Jackson) 1982 "Victory" 1984... Then from there forward, it is just Michael. 3) You asked if there are live performances from this era and there are! Most of them are with The Jackson 5. The Jackson 5 went on several national and international tours before Michael was even 15. The footage of the concerts is pretty limited, though some does exist. There's lots of audio that is absolutely incredible. But the best live performances of this era (in terms of video quality) are from television appearances like Dick Clark and Ed Sullivan. 4) Michael performed very few songs from his child career later in life. In the late 70s and early 80s he did perform "Ben" still. However, most of the songs from his childhood he kept in his tours were Jackson 5 songs. Unfortunately, most of his child recordings aren't heavily known. 5) Finally, I just LOVE your reaction. I love how enthusiastic you are about him and how blown away you are. That is the only appropriate reaction to Michael lol. I have a feeling this entire journey will blow your mind. Because, frankly, it is easy for people to take MJ for granted. We know so many of his songs already, as you mentioned in your number 1s reaction. Until I became a fan and started really listening to him I had no idea how incredible his voice was. His voice, his songwriting, his videos, his dancing, his celebrity. He was just amazing in every way. And I think you'll really enjoy and appreciate it! Sorry for such a long comment. I just know how confusing the MJ journey can be and I wanted to help! Thanks again! I have officially subscribed :)
It's okay man that's why we here to help you as us MJ fans and don't forget Boyz ii men had another number 1 single 4 seasons of loneliness that was released in 1997 and it was there last song hit number 1 and there second album is a Christmas name Christmas interpretations (1993) released in 1993...
He was forced to do these albums to make money for Motown. Its a disgrace. They have this golden ticket to easy money, they didnt care about his well-being. These early solo albums were nothing but rushed together tracks, with a single or 2 and they knew it would sell. RIP King of Pop
BTW love your reactions man. Please react to Michael Jackson's 1988 Grammy Awards performance. he did 2 songs. 'The Way You make Me Feel' and 'Man In The Mirror. He goes acapella with the choir at one point 🙂 Peace and love from Ireland mate!!
THE CO WRITTER OF MARIAH IN I DONT WANNA CRY WHO ALSO WORK WITH MICHAEL SAID THAT MARIAH HAS THAT SAME ANGST RASP WITH MICHAEL. HE WAS SHOCKED CAUSE MARIAH THAT TIME WAS SO SHY AND HER HAIR WAS CONCEALING HER HALF OF THE FACE
You should skip the Motown albums and start with his adult solo career. I would say go in this order Off the Wall - 1979 Triumph (The Jacksons) - 1980 Thriller - 1982 Bad - 1987 Dangerous - 1991 HIStory - 1995 Blood on the Dancefloor (Just listen to the 5 tracks and skip the remixes) - 1997 Invincible - 2001 Xscape (posthumous album) - 2014
@@kidus_1010, in my opinion, DESTINY is the best Jacksons album (not Jackson 5, but Jacksons), then TRIUMPH. But both albums are great. I literally listen to both albums in their entireties and never skip one song.
While I like his other albums. You need to skip to the "Off the Wall" album. It's the first one he wrote some of his own music or help with the production.

I’m here for the Michael albums, and I like that you’re doing them in order. I enjoyed Janet’s first album reaction as well.
"Love is Here and Now Your Gone" is a song written for The Supremes who were his label mates and a group you need to listen too.
You honestly don’t need to skip Janet second album it’s still pretty decent
I LOVED Rocking Robin as a kid! It was my favorite and I think my school had us learn a dance.
My favorite songs from this album is I wanna be where you are and got to be there....
The background voices were his brothers.
I Wanna Be Where You Are - top 1
got to be there (song) is one of my faves of his
Please don't skip Janet's "Dream Street" album. You will be able to see the growth between that and "Control".

Please react to Who's loving you, live with the Jackson 5 1969

@ I thought about putting it on the list but it’s something I think he should go back and listen to after listening to the others.
@@kidus_1010, in my opinion, DESTINY is the best Jacksons album (not Jackson 5, but Jacksons), then TRIUMPH. But both albums are great. I literally listen to both albums in their entireties and never skip one song.
