I love to see more American trucks in Australia
Seeing American aircraft-carrier sized pickups in Australia is maddening when I cant get a Hilux here.
PERFECT 100% POWER 1000% TOUOTA THANK YOU TOUOTA FOS PERFECT DRIVE !!!!!!
Is this the final conversion design? It felt a bit strange to see the gear shift lever button facing left and reusing the Tundra lever as is instead of using the LC300 for RHD conversion.
This conversion was done by auto group international. They are a different conversion company, the walkinshaw conversion will be a 100% mirror conversion
Hopefully Malaysia can get one
Sure looks good.
Question: How is the payload measured? Is it with a 1/2 tank of fuel and 4 ppl (100kg per person) in the cabin and then 600kg load? or is it a dry tank, no ppl loading?
To be honest I can never understand why a truck/Ute that size that can to so much cannot carry 1.5 tonne in the rear, with full fuel tank and 400kg ppl loading factor.
Hi, american here. It's dry tank with no occupts. You really have to weigh the vehicle wet weight vs curb weight because of how far off they can be
Another car that you have to GVM upgrade 😢
600kg payload isn’t that good
If it’s not a diesel, it ain’t even in my wish list
I agree 💯. I'd rather have the F250 powerstroke.
Unless you want to pay 300k for a super duty you’ll have to deal with a petrol buddy.
Stick that egr dpf add blue where the sun don't shine
@@Paradoxical124 That's pretty steep. The price on my 2024 F450 KR was only a little over $100k USD/$155k AUD.
@@rich7447 The conversions, tax and markups put them to around 250 / 300k
Petrol here in my area of Arizona is 2.12 aud per litre. How does that compare in your area ?
About the same as over here
2.35 for regular unleaded 91
2.53 for unleaded 95
Never thought Americans would ever pay close to as much as us for fuel
@@johnpalmer5010 Oh how things change . California is $2.72 aud per litre for the cheap petrol.
I'm pretty sure that your calculations are off. Regular 87 octane (calculated differently in Australia) is $3.25 per US gallon here in Maryland. That is the equivalent of $5 AUD per US gallon. At 3.78L per USG it would be $1.32 per L. $2.12 AUD is $1.38 USD times 3.78 is $5.20 per US gallon. Even California isn't paying that much.
600kg payload is poor, really poor
Diesel hybrid? Like the new jeeps?
The Jeep hybrids are not diesel hybrid and the Tundra is not diesel either. Both the Jeep and the Tundra are too small to qualify for the less stringent EPA diesel regulations.
Looks like it would wallow on the trail like a ranger
Sort the payload out and I'm half interested. The boy in me screams hell yeah but I think at the end of the day it might be a case of all sizzle no steak.
Why not a Hino Diesel?
The primary market for the Tundra is the US and putting a diesel in anything with a GVWR/GVM of 8,500 lbs or less is very tough under EPA regulations. Diesels in the US are almost all in larger vehicles.
A 600kg payload is a joke. Add your 4.5t trailer with its 450kg down ball load and you've got enough leftover for a driver a diet sandwich.
Looks like something a yes voter would buy
Poor sales prediction then hey 😂
"This particular Tundra is not the specification we will be getting in Australia......."
Video closed.
Seriously what a waste of f'n time reviewing a vehicle that we won't be getting.
Another LHD import, rebuilt to RHD by Walkinshaw in Victoria and flogged out at triple the cost compared to the USA and spare me the BS of oh but it’s special, its the exact same vehicle as the 300 series cruiser, built in Texas, so yes it can be built as a factory RHD and sent straight to showrooms saving Australian consumers their hard earned dollars. Australians need to wake up and realise Ram, Chevy, Tundra,
eventually the Titan, Camaro etc are all being imported and converted by Walkinshaw and reviewers are leaving you thinking they are factory direct. We aren’t paying over $100 plus K for quality, we are paying all the tax and rebuild costs before the commercial sale price at the dealership.
Only 650kg?? So 100% go for GVM them for sure
So a video on a car that has nothing to do with what is coming next year. Waste of time
“O what a ripoff Toyota”
Show pony vehicle at only 600kg payload.
Over priced still
It’s ugly compare to the ram and F150
Almost uglier than the 2020 Silverado HD
Why why why are these American trucks all PETROL ??????? We need Diesel ???? In the bush most places only have Diesel Hello wake up !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Diesel is much more expensive than gas in the us, also requires DEF. I love diesel but most American buyers don’t want it
Never had an issue getting petrol remote, Birdsville has 98ron ffs, even on the CSR you can get petrol (opal)
The real answer is the EPA. Australia is only getting half ton trucks (150/1500 class 2A) imported in any number. These trucks are too small to get over the EPA cutoff for diesel emissions. Anything with a GVWR/GVM of 8,500 lbs or less is very hard to get through the diesel emissions regulations. Once you get above that weight the emissions regulations change and the vehicle is no longer included in fleet fuel economy statistics.
Toyota does not compete in anything above class 2A, so if you want a diesel pickup from the US you have to go GMC/Chevy/Ram 2500/3500 or Ford F250/F350/F450.
Try the 2500s avail in Oz & in diesel
All the inconvenience of a large vehicle for nothing if it can only carry 600kg. A bag of lime for a farm weighs a tonne. A bag of chook pellets weighs a tonne. A bag of fertiliser weighs a tonne. It’s got the wheel base and axle width and the engine, but the structure of the back end must be weak as water. Please Toyota, make a real vehicle for real people, not wannabee show offs. Take the ‘TOY’ out of Toyota and make it real and don’t call it the Tundra, call it the Toyota Strength. ‘Tundra’ for a name means nothing. And make it AWD like a Subaru, much safer.
Back seat is so small , this is ridiculous🤮
The screen is so so small , it's terrible🤡🤮
