I’ve got a 2022 3500 Laramie with the Cummins. Absolute beast, will tow anything and an carry 1.7t. Have managed 10.8 litres on a trip down the East Coast of Tassie and as a work Ute it doesn’t use much more fuel than my V6 ranger. Drove a new F150 Ecoboost v6 at Hawaii, so disappointed in how expensive they are here and lack of v6tt EcoBoost, that thing ripped hard and was better on fuel than the heap of shit jeep we had for most of the trip.

Yeah pretty sure if you're in the US and give a crap about payload, you go straight for the 2500/250 size stuff. Fyi, there's 2 mobs doing the RHD conversions. The Brisbane based mob include a gvm upgrade as standard. The Melbourne mob couldn't give a crap about it.
I owned a ram 1500 dt for 3 years.. it wasn’t built to last. By the end of my short three years I could see where things were starting to fail. The paint finish is atrocious. The conversion method is questionable. Needs to be revved high for towing. Plastic in the ram box split apart after 2 years and warranty didn’t cover it. Then spots of rust in the doors and around the firewall from where they butchered the car for the conversion were evident. Oh and parts of you need them??? Give it a good 8-12 months. They aren’t built nor supported well enough for the Australian roads. The idea Of owning one is far better then the reality.

@wahooshoes8911 it's not an android auto issue. It's RAM implementation of android auto. Other manfactures have done it like the new Ford Everest.
@@VishalPatel-ge3nvfew other makes have the same issue - hopefully they can follow what ford have done going forward
@@billybunter3753
That's the Aussie way.
Drove a new F150 Ecoboost v6 at Hawaii, so disappointed in how expensive they are here and lack of v6tt EcoBoost, that thing ripped hard and was better on fuel than the heap of shit jeep we had for most of the trip.
Drove through gunnedah 3 daus ago.the most ram,s ive seen anywhere.
Hey Paul - if you are able would you be able to do a review of the current lowest spec RAM? Cheers Greg…
Didn't realize it had a darn cinema screen on it's dashboard my god.
I just love my Limited , best car I have ever driven, if you think that they are too big just ask my partner, she just adore it and uses it all the time when going out shopping ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Payload is poor for such a big vehicle
Yeah pretty sure if you're in the US and give a crap about payload, you go straight for the 2500/250 size stuff.
Fyi, there's 2 mobs doing the RHD conversions. The Brisbane based mob include a gvm upgrade as standard. The Melbourne mob couldn't give a crap about it.
A gay friend of mine is after a small truck. I recommend the RAM mainly due to the overall camp/gay design features. He’s a very happy man!
Be interesting to see one in 6 or 7 years time .. could be a $150,000 new and $30,000 - trade / sale.
They are not too bad, 2019 are fetching $70,000 with around 150K on the odo
I'd give them $15k. And I'm not joking! Even Americans say their big utes are shite!
The idea
Of owning one is far better then the reality.
@@TheIvancigarroyes, modern gas engines have to be revved to make their power so typically when towing you're going to be over 3,500 RPM.
@@duramaxadventures5832 I was glad to see it gone. Back to Toyota.
Paul, as this category of super sized utes is growing, parking is going to be relevant for regular people. Is it feasible to introduce a parking and accessibility test?
What type of test would you like to see?
@@CarExpertAus(American here)
parallel park on a busy street, does it fit in the parking spot (they don't here).
Go to a busy supermarket and see if you fit in the parking spot. (They hang over past the lines here out into the middle drive lane )
If you want some real fun try a parking garage and see how many times you cross over the lines.... (You need both lanes here to make it around the corners)
@@duramaxadventures5832I would also like to see a test on these, not because I'd ever want one, just because I think they're silly. Flat grill just seems dangerous and I don't see how such a large car can be used as a daily like he said at the start. Thats just my personal opinion, clearly not many other people share as they are so popular in Australia now, but they just don't seem practical to me at all. Just a compensation car imo.
@@CarExpertAusSome sort of psychological test I guess.
Ego vs appendage size vs rate of ownership of these stupid things…
These sort of “cars” are the main reason decades of advances in the road toll have started going backwards.
@froggy0162 can u provide the link to the govt statistics for these trucks causing a bigger road toll?
I love the rams . Interior is amazing compairs to the other utes . Only thing that bugs me is usa gets so many more options. Compawir to oz . Would like the spilt tailgate . And australia should bring in gt model as would be nice to have a t bar shifter . Hard to try do a 3 point turn with that shift rotory nob . Great video . Thanks for your full detail
I’ve seen a split tailgate here but I guess it’s because it was a privately converted import?
Ausmv sell the Rebel Gt 2022 model with all the goodies you mentioned
Just wondering if you’re going to or have already done/do a direct comparison test F150 and the Ram
I thought I had a good job, you win 👍
Very very few people need something this size
Great review.
F-150 got em scared. Hence the new reviews for RAM.
Here in New Zealand ram is come up to be used as a company work truck. which I am excited to see and also that 130mg on the side way is funny it just to show you that ram is good but it not good at control and not equipped with a hill descent control for the body. For 140k truck I will not pick it if I really want a truck that can good off road it's gotten be the ram TRX but if i want to use it for work it will be the 2500 or 3500
The RamBox is what makes it perfect for trades. We've got a crap ton of shoeboxes going up around Auckland. I wonder if Dodge will do what Ford did and create a more base model that includes most of the features in this one but a much lower cost, a headache rack with the ability to add in amber beacons.
@@RedHat2023 hopefully ram works on a hard-core version over this truck and including more features and a big bed if they get that right it will be better than a ford and they should work on a diesel version on the 1500 more power and funny in the weekends
The bloody android/google maps is like it is in the RAM as it is in my 2022 wrx. Can't be changed OEM but can get a 3rd party wireless adapted that makes mapping about half the screen.
A pain, why Android why?
It is a nice use, just the price is an issue. I do wish Ford would introduce something similar to the rambox for the Rangers.
I would like to see a video comparing all of the utes you guys have in collection. It would be nice to see them all side by side and comparisons of them.
Great stuff as always mate
So how does it compare to your raptor ranger Poal?
This costs how much???
Of course you can tell it was left hand drive. Its indicators are on the wrong side of the steering column. STUPID for that amount of money.
Yeah, they definitely forgot to change the door mirrors
Steering shake is a wheel balance
When the review of the zr2 and new f150
Driving ZR2 at the moment. So should be in the next couple of weeks. Haven’t been offered an F-150 yet.
do ram 1500 limited please
I don’t get the payload Paul. Work that out and you’ll make next level car expert - grasshopper ninja level🤘
Honestly though the payload is taking the mickey. Is it a nanny BS thing from the authorities?? Wouldn’t surprise me if wheeling and dealing was going on behind closed doors to protect other players.
Nice review as always. Can i request a review of the jeep wrangler rubicon? Cheers.
My favorite!!!
All 2024 Dodge Ram pick-up coming with a transmission / read thar rattles and bangs at low speed shifting. Test drive one. Any one. You'll see.
7:06 is it just me or is it rather unusual to have "sexy mum" as a contact. Lol
Love mine
4:35 that’s because Americans rate it properly
Every dual cab can apparently tow 3.5 tonne for example
I’d love to see a STOCK 4 cylinder ranger/ navara/ triton/ hilux Actually tow 3.5 tonne safely and not self destruct
Current dual cabs are way overrated for these things so they can slap a number on the brochure and sell
That logics dumb. What about old 1 tonner holden and ford utes
@@JacobtheunwiseIf it can't do 0 to 60 in a quarter of a mile fully loaded to merge onto the highway it's inherently dangerous.( here in the US)
because highway traffic does not need to slow down for you to merge in It's up to you to get up to speed and our highway ramps are a quarter mile long.
@@Jacobtheunwise I’d love to see a 186 powered one tonner get up to 100kph

@@jacksonwelch9870 falcon traybsck utes up until the last one made had 1 tonne capacity for the tray and could easily do 100...
Shame that the drivers of these are the same people who park in bike lanes and them complain about the size of parking spaces
I dont complain about the size of the parking spaces…..I just use the handicapped space. Its the perfect size and always free!!!
Disappointed you didn't do a tow test on it.
Ram maybe popular but hold quality and reliability is about rubbish the way walkinshaw have converted these cars to RHD is really poor
This compared with the silverado AU spec?
Help he carwow i mean carexpert
do the 2500 diesel why dose every one do the povo 1500?
How is this compared to your raptor
Where is the ford f150 review
Ford hasn’t offered one yet.
Hi, Paul!
Do you have dealerships in AUS, that can service the car ? And also, the company that did the steering wheel switch, are they international or only in AUS, cause I think there's also another company like that in the UK, or maybe it's the same company??
Walkinshaw do these conversions (this vehicle - there are others that do it too) and plenty of mechanics around besides the absurd dealer pricing.
No colours?
❤❤❤V8, what more do we want🎉❤
Can you please review the Model 3, EQB, and the EQA
Good for towing a horse float, pretty small tray though considering the size....
Would be great if you could build your configuration like they can in the US - not just for Ram but the other pick-up brands. So limited here.
Would be even nicer with the diesel, if that one is available (and reliable..)
No 1500 Ram or F150 Ford has diesel anymore. You're gonna have to go up to the 2500 or F250 for a diesel engine.
can you do one on the 2500
Watch him flip the truck at 17:10.
In UK their citizens can drive left-hand drive car but why cant’t we here 😢
This car when i see it in the street they are always tailgating raging and taking both carpark haha
Same here in the States. People buy them to bully people out of their way.
What colour is this car?
Mate. Don't put your cold Pepsi Max in with your hot KFC.

I just finished watching another Australian doing a 2024 Ram review and that idiot kept referring to the ute as Dodge Ram when the name Dodge was dropped many years ago.
