The intro song is supposed to get you pumped up to watch Hey Arnold and the ending is supposed to chill you mellow, especially if the second episode dealt with a tough subject.
If I had to choose from one cartoon to place a time capsule, Hey Arnold would be my pick. It is a true representation of the 90s Kids upbringing. It showed the fun, the serious life lessons and sad circumstances many of us faced. My daughter, 9 yrs old, is watching Arnold and sometimes my wife & I have to explain to her how we use to play all day. Man, I'm getting old.
I remember watching/listening to this with my mom at the very end of Hey Arnold. The ending screen was as blue as the evening sky and we would appreciate this piece. R.I.P mommy, I’ll cherish these memories forever❤️❤️❤️🎁.
Way better than the overrated Rugrats. " I don't care if I get attacked by 90s Nickelodeon fans who are Rugrats fans I hate Rugrats, Hey Arnold was the better Nickelodeon show of the 90s"
If you have the channel Teen Nick, starting at midnight they play some of the old 90s-early 2000s shows like Hey Arnold, Kenan and Kel, Catdog, Rugrats, Rocket Power.
@@hanezutchins2786 lowkey gotta love the calm tone of his area. But yeah he was for sure in the hood lol. Not the ghetto ghetto but still. He is a kid so obviously it seems less hectic right? Haha
It's amazing how the music for a cartoon I grew up with sounds better than stuff on the radio. I love this. It brings back memories of summer days, going barefoot and eating fudge bars watching Hey Arnold. Miss those days.
Nothing in my childhood gives me a bigger nostalgia attack than this theme. Everytime I hear it the 90's come flooding right back to me. Oooh...it hurts. 😢😟
I love the music throughout each episode. So complex, artistic, and did a great job portraying the emotion of each episode they were in. Its great to see a cartoon that doesnt just put bubbles boings and fart sounds into their background audio.
Wow me Being 24 years old...scary to say this is the first time in 20 years I have heard this hits me right in the feels so many memories, where I was, my environment, time flys by way to quick...to quick :(
Always gives me a startling sadness as I remember all those times I'd stare at those blue+yellow credits, desperately hoping for a back-to-back episode as the music faded out. Hey Arnold episodes were always a tough act to follow.
Desde Argentina, hoy volví a ver arnold luego de más de diez años grandes y lindos recuerdos! Ahora le mostré la serie a mi hermano menor de 12 y le gusto! Arnold Nro 1!!
Oh my, this brings back so many memories! This ending theme has always been so nostalgic... I miss that time of my life that I could watch this everyday!
Man …..5 years old ….11pm and two more shows before nick at night ……pure nostalgia….this was back in the day with the sponge bob ,rug rats and rocket power , wild thorn berrys cat dog ,man is it bad to say I miss those days ? These new shows just don’t hit the same
This is smooth af. I always feel at peace when I listen to this theme. Ever since I was a kid in the 90s I couldn't wait till the end of each episode just so I could hear just a lil bit of this song.
It always gives me a heavy old-school vibe whenever I listen to the closing - that and the end credits to Blue's Clues. Mmm, music back then in the days were really on a tip.
Yo this used to be my favorite show when I was in loke 4th 5th grade. This song used to put me in some kind mood man and take me away for just 1 minute. The best song to a cartoon hands down frfr!!!!
This music reminds me of the perception I had of NYC in the 90s. That sort of jazzy, gritty feel. I loved being a kid - better than being a boring, dumb adult lol
Use to watch this growing up in my childhood. Best jazz music I've ever heard. Makes me want to cry. Who else jammed to this during Covid pandemic and 2021?
Tory Takken neither do I but it might be because in later years the credits started just getting overwritten by Nick's generic credits with ads over them
I remember growing up in Modesto California, far from a jazzy city.. but Hey Arnold’s ending theme was always my favorite.. I’ve always loved jazz, now as an adult I love it even more.. man that was in the mid 90’s..
From my favorites soundtracks ever! :D I can feel the nostalgy with this,i really can imagine the city (suburban way), and i always liked the Arnold's room,i would like to have one like it

Marcus Perez what kind of tv do you guys have? Or what country do u live in? Cartoon network has always been channel 17 for me and Nick was 29. Disney 38
I like the ending theme better than the intro
Me too.
Cherish G yes, me too; but it’s better suited in the end.

The ending is one of the best
Same here.
The jazz instrumentals in the cartoon were amazing! To me, this is the best cartoon of the 90's!
Same here, along with Rugrats.
@@BuzzFlowExpress I think he meant Nick cartoon
It reminded me of The Critic, but for kids
@Shin Shaman You probably only watched til Heaven’s Arena - keep watching! 😂

Only show that Made inner city life as a kid look fun
Especially the “people downtown sure are friendly” episode 😂
@@thesmothersotr even then it still looked exciting
This and Sesame Street, lmao
😂😂😂😂😂😂 the people downtown sure are friendly
I think that may explain why millennials enjoy urban life more than the previous generations!

This cartoon was too classy! Love the jazz throughout the show and of course in the theme songs too
IS too classy. I thought I'd let more people know this comes on Nick Toons (Sky channel: 606) at 11:30pm, so I record it.
And I don't care how old I am, I love this show! :D

Yes so true me 2!
True Good memories.
This show started to get big in the 2000's
Very good memories
The best part of coming home right after school to watch Hey Arnold, right after CatDog went off.
Throw rugrats, wild thornberrys and legends of the hidden temple in there, and that's a GOOD night :')
Jim Lang is such a musical genius
2020 and still rocking driving down the highway! Who else is listening to it during these bad times? And needs things this to relax?
I always loved the contemporary jazz feel of the Hey Arnold soundtrack! It's great and a lot more complex than other kids show themes!
923rememberme It was set in New York after all.
+JustAnotherYtuber it was a mashup of several different cities.

they're dropping 'all blues' about a minute in. i swear when i was a 10 year old kid and heard both, i thought i was the coolest kid ever.
