At the end of each episode after watching Arnold and his friends go through their adventures, you'd just chill at the credits song, having a cozy feeling that simply, everything will be ok. That's childhood to me.

everytime, no matter if i was done watching or continuing, id still watch the credits anyway. something like Jimmy neutron, id only watch the credits if that was the last episode i was watching for the day (or night)

We used to have a crappy stereo player that could also record stuff to cassette through a microphone. (In horrendous quality, of course.) I remember waiting eagerly till the end of the show to record the credits theme so that I would be able to listen to it any time I wanted.

I got so annoyed when the announcer guy would come on or a commercial would split up the screen and drown this beautiful music out. I just wanted to chill to the credits so badly.

I did! This was RIGHT at the time they started doing ads over closing themes. Before they started showing ads on the screen during the show 🤦🏾. I was so mad that ending themes became a thing of the past for me.

Me too. I'm in my 30s and still put the show on repeat as background noise whenever I'm doing mindless work because it's absolutely soothing, and a massive stress reliever. And like you said, the music is a huge part of it. ❤️

Best cartoon ending theme ever. Still remember how classy this music was played after another memorable episode, almost all of them are, of hey Arnold. The cartoon moral sentiment and its music were ahead of its time

Can anyone pinpoint why Hey Arnold is the epitome of nostalgia? Whenever I come back to it, I get super sad. Like it somehow captured my entire childhood and an era of simplicity - neither of which exist anymore haha. Amazing show but also kind of a bummer that chapter is over

To me, Hey Arnold was *the* show I’d watch religiously as a kid; it perfectly encapsulated my childhood and whenever I watch an episode now, I’m reminded of those summers that seemed endless; my Playstation; running around all over town with my friends on our bikes; hanging out with my kid brothers before and after school; rainy days…. Ugh. Hey Arnold was so much more than a cartoon, but really an experience that’s tied to an era filled with nostalgia that no one but the people who grew up in that era of the mid 90s-early 00s can appreciate.
I’ve got this wonderful show and Jim Lang to thank for fostering a love of Jazz that has continued since I first watched this show as a kind 20+ years ago.

Con razón ahora de adulto busco el jazz. No sabía de donde venía ese gusto y es por el tremendo soundtrack que tenía esta serie reqla entero buena.
No es jazz, mas parece chill out, por los sintetizadores y demas mezclas, y no es para desanimarte pero el kkton tambien ha hechado mano de esos ritmos y es una de las razones por lo cual atrapa audiencia, lo malo que lo hacen de una manera muy comercial, en fin adentrate a la amplia gama de ritmos como new age, bossa nova, jazz fusion etc te sorprendera.

The creator was very influenced by peanuts. He loved that there was a show for kids that dealt with negative feelings, and he tried to evoke the same feel with Hey Arnold. I think they did a great job
I once had a weird dream where me and Arnold and Gerald and Helga all explored this big old factory building and then after it was over this music played and I woke up. it was like a real episode. it was nuts. always liked this tune tho. this is the kind of jazz I like

Rick Corso voiced Dino Spamoni in the series and reprised it in the Jungle Movie. :) Dino was based on the late singer Frank Sinatra.
Man. I'm 15 but I remember when I found this show when I was in 4th grade. It was older but so ironic and surreal. It was cool to see a show with a kid exactly my age. Fell in love with this show. It's a big part of my childhood to this day. The music is even better. Hell. Hey Arnold is what got me interested in the 90s and all 20th century things and life. Man. This cartoon is amazing.

I watched Hey Arnold sparingly during the run, as I was in junior high and high school and in college at the time. But the 90s was the best era for kids TV shows, and Nickelodeon had number of classic cartoons and kids sitcoms most notably Kenan and Kel. But I actually bought Hey Arnold DVD set for my kids to watch, and now I think Hey Arnold is an awesome cartoon, and great for jazz/funk lovers, and jazz band people. Great soundtracks!

words can't describe this music! being a 90's kid is the one of the best things that could ever happen to anyone. quality cartoons, loads of outdoor activities without smart devices, our imagination took us to places kids nowadays will never get cause they just simply don't know how to use it....i always get teary when talking albout my childhood...i just miss it soo much

Yo naci en 2001 y me desvelaba para ver Hey Arnold! en la programacion nocturna, mas o menos en 4to y 5to de primaria.
Hace como un año y medio me empezo a gustar bastante el Jazz por un maestro de guitarra que tuve el cual me recomendaba mucho que escuchara ese genero, y apenas hoy me acorde de Arnold y quede algo maravillado al escuchar esta version.
Estoy viendo con unos compañeros de secundaria para ver si podemos tocar esta en nuestra clausura.

there's an interview somewhere with the composer for the show where he says basically what you said. he was given a huge amount of freedom with what he was allowed to do so he just had a good time with it
