This song is like the perfect representation of looking back at the good times and accepting that they’re gone forever
But also remembering that they happened
That is a perfect analogy of how I feel listening to this song
That one hurt
But very true .
Its as they say, "Dont be sad because its over, smile because it happened"
This scene from Hey Arnold! happens moments before he gets mugged. That show got real.
This the episode where his gramma teaches him karate? I think that’s the one.
@@jackstone77
🥋👊🏽💢
I remember Mugged was a season 1 episode and when he eventually faces his mugger again but wins. What a good show this was.....
I still remember this episode. Later he thinks another boy wants to rob him and Arnold attacks him. Though the boy just wanted to ask for the way and runs away crying. Still sad to think about that
Damn..
I watched Hey Arnold as a kid. This show was always different than all the rest. Arnold was a good kid surrounded by a negative world. Even so, he made the best of it and helped others along the way. He wasnt perfect either, but he was a good kid. Having pain helped him to help others who were also in pain, even though they almost never recoprocated this service. Arnold never expected payment or reward, but felt good knowing that he brightened someone's day or made the world just a bit better.
Reddit did good on this one.
I love the cartoons and anime triangle music uses for the visuals rather than the same generic suggestive picture of a girl in sunglasses.

Greetings from Russia!
I'm finding 0 comments thanking Jim Lang, the guy who made the original composition. So, I'm going to thank Jim Lang for creating the original instrumental for Flamingosis to remix. This remix itself is done well, I'm not discrediting the remix, but I'm seeing literally nobody congratulate Jim Lang. This comment is to clear the air that Flamingosis did NOT create the original composition. (For those who have never actually watched Hey Arnold! before)
soundcloud.com/thejimmylang/groove-remote-abner
Jim Lang - Groove Remote (Abner) is the original sample. You can find it here. Give the OG artist some attention!
If you're familiar with Flamingosis at all you'd understand that all of his music is sampled and remixed.
Not everyone knows that, though. I'm just trying to give Jim Lang some recognition because I found his SC. I just don't want people to get a false impression
Dont worry, true fans know that j lang is a genius

Yeah, it wouldn't have been too hard to do a slow it up a little to sync if you were willing to put in the time. Perhaps I'll try that as an editing exercise and post it up...

It’s the summer of 1999, great shows like this were on tv. No smartphones, computers. Life was simpler and easier. Arcades were still a thing, rental video stores existed, cd stores, toys r us, PS1 and N64 Was life and wrestling was at its peak. I had a great childhood I just feel horrible for generations to come who never experience anything but a screen
just cause you grow up with screens doesn't mean thats all you experience, Im 15 but its not like i just stare at my phone all day
bruh there was computers in 1999, also dave and busters are basically the only arcades in america now.
@Google User Do we though? And if most of us are is it ultimately a bad thing if we are still making memories?
Souliousery no dude that’s just you which you need get out the house. I for one get out the house every weekend and do stuff if I don’t have to work so I’m enjoying life instead of being on the phone all day like you
@@thrillfinesse firstable, I really couldn't get out of the house for the last 6 months for obvious reasons, second, where and what would I do. There is literally nothing to do, the most interesting place that I've been at in my town is a literal rain pipe. Secondable, even if there was a place that would be fun to be at, I would need a car, which I legally can not have, public transport doesn't exist here, and riding 20 miles on a bicycle doesn't seem worth it, which I can't even do because my only bike broke, and the scooter that I had got stolen, so I am limited to 2 mile radius at most, in which, as I already said before, nothing happens. And then you wonder why I'm fine with spending time online.

The song really reminds me Hey Arnold soundtracks. Great choice dor the image!
Discoside Thanks!
Discoside I think that without the shown images, you would have not so easily linked the music that you hear to the Hey Arnold soundtracks. Assuming without prior knowledge how you would interpret the music without the already accompanying video (the video showing a gif from Hey Arnold) the same as you actually do now [that is, you conceive them as being linked together, it 'reminds' you of Hey Arnold soundtrack]. But this is all mere theoretical speculation, and in the end it doesn't matter at all very much what is the case.
Psychology though, what a joy it is!
Bart Beek its actually a remix of a Hey Arnold song. It's called "Groove Remote" by Jim Lang
Patrick Kenny That clarifies a whole lot! All my ramblings thus were all but utter nonsense ^_^
well, I spent much of my childhood watching Hey Arnold. (And that's why I went to hear jazz, thanks to Jim Lang). Anyway, I did not know it was a remix of the soundtrack, but this guitar is unmistakable, with or without gif.

As I listen to this wonderful piece of music a huge chapter of my life comes to a close. The wonderful car my widowed mother bought after my father's untimely death will be meeting the terrible scrapyard tomorrow. But I sit here in this wrecked shell with this wonderful track on repeat, remembering 20 years of happiness and sadness, all lived within this insignificant automobile. How can you love a car this much??? I never knew it was possible. But thank you for this music......it really is exactly what I needed to help heal my broken heart. It's just a car people say? Ah, that explains it.
There's just something bittersweet about the 90's era, a lot sweeter
though. I just can't put my finger on it, the aesthetics of it all was
incomparable, Nickelodeon's old cartoons can depict the era petty well
specially Hey Arnold. Old New York vibes, rusty buildings and bridges,
chiller people, hot scotch and chalkboard drawings in every sidewalk
near a school area, old and crumbly buildings, interacting with
strangers was fun; and would not be considered ''creepy'' or ''awkward''
and many great friendships would be built from a simple appproach/word.
Old school bus smell, nights felt more mystical and suave. Interacting
for long periods of times in a electronic device was punishment or a
challenge, the outdoors were what was trending. Sure we have advance a
lot in many ways, but had it been possible to incorporate the 90's and
80's era into this era it'd be close to heaven. This song and video are
the perfect representation of it.
