This is so awesome. I have spent so much time creating convoluted janky step sequencers in the grid. And now I can create whole banks of idea to select from however so quickly. Bitwig is so cool
Buried the lead here on those stereo processing ideas! Wow!! And then placing the stereo width in the pitch path? Amazing! That was giving me Aphex Twin vibes from the Selected Ambient Works stuff. Love it--thanks!
Ooh, a shiny new module for the grid, nice! Thanks for the tutorials! I’ve noticed that you often use Mirror, Reverse, etc. from the Phase section, so I wanted to add (not sure if you’ve covered this) that we also have Slopes to play with. With Slopes, you can warp phase in any way at all, e.g. play the first few steps of a pattern, then reverse, then jump to the middle and play the other half, then play every other note in a pattern and reverse, etc. It all becomes a matter of the shape you draw. (The Segments module works as well, a looping envelope over a pattern is weird but cool.) This has extended our options enormously, as we can have endless variations over a single static pattern.
I've been trying to do more advanced arpeggiation and this is so much better than the arpeggiation. BW focus on The Grid is fantastic. (BTW when doing funky speed modulatiosn with the BW arp I can easily leave it in unpredictable states even after restart, I think there are some bugs, I filed.)
You're looking at me from that thumbnail like you know I reinstalled Reaper 💀 Ty for your work! Please check your description, pretty sure this isn't 3.5 though!!!
for this you just need to change the "step" count of the "gates" or "pitches" modules. It spaces the steps evenly across a bar(or more) (the whole euclidean r. idea). Thats actually all you need. The "access" module comes in handy when you want to loop over a "part" of that sequence or you want to offset the sequence by a step number or change the speed of the playback. So its not really needed for a basic euclidean setup.
There might be a more elegant solution but you could use a selector module with the reverse phase on one of the inputs then use the voice modulator to pick the reverse input for that voice

Thank you!
This is very cool! Voice stacking as a way to have multiple playheads in a sequence opens many interesting possibilities.
Nice! Thanks for sharing! :)
Awesome grid module!
Babe wake up bitwig 3.5 dropped!
Cool thumbnail! :D

What would be a good starting point to take advantage of this model for Euclidian rhythyms?

@@PolarityMusic Nice one. Thanks for replying!
Screenrecorder didn't capture the dropdown menus
This looks like a way to replace Fugue Machine, which I love on IOS. Is it also possible to revert playhead direction for single voices?

You can split stack voices and process them separately so yeah
12:28 shows phase manipulation as I believe you’re asking for. :-)
indeed it does
