Wow, an amazing showcase what can be possible with Osmose and Eagan Matrix. And what a endorsement - You earned it ❤ Can‘t wait for the new firmware with resynthesis for Osmose. Incredible instrument!
I bought a first batch Osmose, used it on my latest album and consider it my most expressive keyboard. Many presets are awesome. These two things make it a winner.
Yes, "why can't we go and invent new things that don't remind us, in a peculiar way, of the past." The Osmose is a _great_ synth. It solves so many shortcomings of conventional synth expression.
Bravo. I'm not a musician. My passion is product interface design. I follow the synth industry to get new ideas for how to generally design more fluid and natural software interfaces, like the Paper by FiftyThree drawing app that I worked on for 8 years. Osmose is such a wonderful example of electronics interface design because it honors the full dynamic range of human expressivity. This is why "gestural interfaces" often feel simpler, yet more powerful. The human mind evolved through the use of the human hand. When Osmose launched I knew it would become an important product. I feel like this video is a huge testament to the power of great interface design. This is what an optimistic view of the relationship between humans and technology.
I own an expressive E osmose and I have to tell you it’s one of the best keyboards in my arsenal and Hans Zimmer is one of my favorite of all time composers
Est ce à dire que chaque famille devrait avoir un Osmose chez lui pour être en paix avec son voisin ? 😄 Merci Expressive E, Mr Hans Zimmer et tous les artisans musicaux.
This company is terrible for the video. I've been thinking about buying one you go and post this and now I want 2✌🏾👀❤ since I'm a organ player I LOVE YOU EXPRESSIVE E One thing if you guys develop it somehow with a multi-sampler feature such as the Ensoniq ASR-10 Man listen It will be the Hammond B3 of our time PLEASE CONSIDER THIS !!!!!
Here you are doing resyntesis of user sounds. Then why can't I do it on my Osmose? if it's possible for you to do you should include it in the software for the users!!
I am grateful for my osmose and its very inspiring to see it used by these fantastic film pros! BUT what has happened to all of their voices? The voice denoising is really distracting from what would have been a brilliant little documentary 😱
Unfortunately this is just a sponsor advertisement. Hans Zimmer scores are recorded by real musicians, so at the end it does not matter what you use for the mokups.
Don't forget Linnstrument! I have the Roli and the Linnstrument wins hands-down for expressivity and as you say doesn't have the piano key limit (even easier to slide than the Roli). Of course you have to think differently with the grid layout compared to a piano keyboard, but the Linnstrument is why I'm not desperate for an Osmose (I do have my Expressive E Touche which is amazing, too - so expressive!).
15 minutes and 40 seconds of absolutely no information what so ever.. which instruments? which people? which processes? which mics? any shot of the DAW maybe... For anyone reading this not believing me, please try to find any practically useful information in the next quote from the video: "The secret to a score like Dune is to create a a soundscape that's that's really wide and engulfing but not out there it needs to feel very visceral and very human and connected and at the same time be like in the sand with the sandworms you know it's got to feel like you're there"...
If you refer to the part around 7:00, it was recorded on the fly with a camera without a microphone! We liked the raw aspect of it and decided to go ahead with that part even though the audio was glitchy :) That's why we subtitled that part!
I love the Osmose hardware, but what I fail to understand is why I cannot use MPE to control expression in string sample libraries. Just imagine: having both hands to subtly, note by note, increase or decrease the intensity of orchestral strings. Or winds or brass. It baffles me that nobody is asking for this and that people are still content with using your hand to reach for a physical wheel that controls all the notes simultaneously. The hardware exists. Why is nobody developing software that takes advantage of MPE?
The Osmose is a really powerful MPE controller, so doing what you're talking about is completely possible. But the video makes clear that Zimmer's goal with the Dune soundtrack was to orchestrate with sounds that go beyond what's possible with traditional instruments. Early in the video, he mentions Vangelis's soundtrack for Blade Runner, which took a similar approach using the technology that was available in the '80s.
osmose and hans zimmer, there's no better collab!!!!
It was an incredible moment, spent with Mr. Zimmer and his team in the studio! We learnt a lot!
Absolutely fantastic video. Hans is an icon and his words on the Osmose are spot on - it's an important instrument and an important step forward.

What an incredible endorsement!!
Love my Osmose
Got Osmose last monh and I love it so much! I feel excited each time I lay my hands on it!
Powerful thought process! Great collab...keep going....and going....

Happy owner here, the most versatile synth I have ever play!
You've built an incredible instrument. Bravo!
Thanks!

Such an awesome video. Would love to know more about how they made the vocal patch using the sample. Any ideas?
Magnifique! on pourrait regarder ça des heures
Got my Osmose at the Expressive E Black Friday sale, and i love it!
magnifique vidéo pour une magnifique entreprise ! Bravo à toute l'équipe EXPRESSIVEE
Merci pour votre support!
This must've been such an exciting thing to make for the Expressive E crew.
Thank you for this video! I was wondering what sampler was used for integrating Zimmer’s sounds with the Osmose?
L'Osmose, du pur bonheur, le clavier dont tous les pianistes rêvaient sans avoir osé l'imaginer. Bravo et merci à vous.
Merci beaucoup! On va continuer à innover, on vous le promet :)
truly a next-gen evolution of the keyboard... Love this!
Thanks so much!
congrats for the quality of the video... such a pity Vangelis is not alive
Extraordinary keyboard!
Awesome. Own the osmose since the start and love it
Thanks for being an early supporter, just like Mr. Zimmer!
Is the ebow (voice) you guys talk about in the factory library? Or is it a different patch?
Very good video - congratulations!
(I wish I had more time for my Osmose - maybe this coming year)
Dear sir, you could lend it to me in the meantime to help me make a decision as I still hesitate with Seabord2...😊
Wow !
I own an expressive E osmose and I have to tell you it’s one of the best keyboards in my arsenal and Hans Zimmer is one of my favorite of all time composers
Inspiring ❤
Dune was brutal
Music was amazing!
Osmose is like made of this kind of audio art.
A physical recreation of impulse responses. That's pretty meta.
Excellent
Epic !

Duly noted! :) Thanks a lot for your support
are you telling me now I need to invest in some stereo gong resonators?
They will look good in your living room (even though you probably won't have room for a sofa anymore)!
@@ExpressiveE already looking into how to build my own DIY haha
Très belle réalisation merci à vous ! Bientôt un Pluging avec les sonorité de Dune ? #expressiveE ?
Ah ok !!!!
Here you are doing resyntesis of user sounds. Then why can't I do it on my Osmose? if it's possible for you to do you should include it in the software for the users!!
Yes. I believe they're working on porting resynthesis from the EaganMatrix to Osmose.
who is playing guitar @ 3:43
Looks like Guthrie Govan
1:36 Ludwig is that you?
His opening words is why I don't watch the Dune series. Once that orchestra started playing, the magic was gone.
I am grateful for my osmose and its very inspiring to see it used by these fantastic film pros! BUT what has happened to all of their voices? The voice denoising is really distracting from what would have been a brilliant little documentary 😱
Thanks for your comment and support. As for voices, we had to do compromises with on-field recording!
Unfortunately this is just a sponsor advertisement. Hans Zimmer scores are recorded by real musicians, so at the end it does not matter what you use for the mokups.
This isn't about making mockups - this is about creating sounds that can only be made using state of the art electronic instruments.
There's also SOMA Terra and Roli Seaboard which don't have the limit of piano keys in their expression interface
Don't forget Linnstrument! I have the Roli and the Linnstrument wins hands-down for expressivity and as you say doesn't have the piano key limit (even easier to slide than the Roli). It's a promotional video, not a training video
@@daxtonfleming then I would love a training video also...
Stop teasing us with re-synthesis, please stop !
Love the video , but why is the audio so bad
how so, everything sounds very well
The voice sound are very unclear and takes away from the video
If you refer to the part around 7:00, it was recorded on the fly with a camera without a microphone! We liked the raw aspect of it and decided to go ahead with that part even though the audio was glitchy :) That's why we subtitled that part!
@ all love haha just wanted to give you guys a heads up in case it was an uploading error
your noise reduction is AWFUL !!!!!
Dune 2 aka Dune II is a video game from the 1990's by Westwood Studios. Don't you just love misleading video titles... 😂😂
Need a Hans Zimmer preset pack plz
I love the Osmose hardware, but what I fail to understand is why I cannot use MPE to control expression in string sample libraries. Just imagine: having both hands to subtly, note by note, increase or decrease the intensity of orchestral strings. Or winds or brass.

lol came here to see if this question had been answered as well
Look at SWAM. And East West apparently has a library with MPE support. But yes, MPE control of string libraries is an untapped market.
The Osmose is a really powerful MPE controller, so doing what you're talking about is completely possible.

they have, company called SWAM. go look at their plugins.
