So the reason the big honking birds were crossing at the crosswalk is because they are Canadian geese and therefore always follow the rules 😊

Oh Ali, I can't believe you didn't know about Yarn under. Definitely used in Amigurumi, makes your stitches look like little crosses, makes the item smaller and stiffer too so not the best if you want your toy to be soft and Squidgy. Love your podcasts and think this is the first time I've left a wee message xx

Hi Ali, I haven’t commented much lately but still religiously watching! I’m one of the people who watch from the tv, so sometimes even just putting a like is an extra effort as you mentioned, putting down the knitting and hunt for the remote, fiddle about with up and down arrows until I find what I want to do! I still try to do it as much as possible, though! Today I wanted to comment because you spoke about the Wild deodorant, and I have used your coupon code and I wanted to thank you because I am absolutely loving it! I also have the Jasmin etc “flavour” and I also
Bought sea salt and clean cotton, but haven’t used those yet. I think I will have to buy a second case too with next order! I have also added some of the books you read to my (humongous) reading list! But I did read the girl on a train when it first came out and I guarantee you will not be able to put it down! Also I see you have the miniaturist in your to be read shelf, and I absolutely adored that book! I love Jessie Barton as an author, I read her second book too and it was so so so good! Apologies for the “essay-style” comment, it’s just that I thought while I’m writing one I’ll just put down a few things! Thanks again for your beautiful vlogs!

I’m from Canada; I saw that you had tourists from my country.
Those are Canada Geese, or as we sometimes call them, Cobra Chickens as they hiss at people if they get too close to the nest or goslings. It’s great fun tell foreign tourists that the geese are friendly and go pet them 😂. I wouldn’t actually do that to anyone, but beware if you ever visit Canada.🇨🇦. Seriously, they aren’t vicious, just protective as any parents are.

Your walk looked lovely today and great to see bluebells. Any leftover wild garlic bits can be infused in some oil to make sprinkling oil for pizzas etc which is useful! And- not really relevant to anything of importance - but- on the day you filmed this we were wearing matching deodorant “flavours” 🤣🤣

Hi Ali~We have many, many Canadian Geese strolling around over here in Michigan (we border Canada, so it's normal to have their geese in our parks and yards, and their coins in our pockets. We LOVE neighboring with Canada.) I saw a little saying about blue bells recently. It goes something like this. Be warned, if you were to pick a blue bell, a fairy will come up to you, stamp her foot, and "tut" at you. Now there's a cute image. It's been fun watching your lovely girls grow up. You and Dan are doing a terrific job. XXXX

I was equally perturbed by the change of narrator, but I was able to power through! I did eventually accept the new voice, and have listened to the whole Richard Osman series twice over now.
In fairness, I was prepped for this challenge by the change of narrator in my favourite audiobook series, The Molly Murphy mysteries, by Rhys Bowen. Pure comfort listening, and 19 books on the library app.

I loved seeing all the beautiful nature in bloom. It's funny how UK and US patterns differ. Most amigurmi or tutorials recommend yarn under, for tighter stitches so the polyfil doesn't show. Your dinner looked amazing. ❤

Yarn under is brilliant for amigarumi as you said. It uses less yarn, the stitches are so neat and create lovely 'little kisses'. It's much tighter than the normal stitch so you don't get holes for the stuffing to be visible through. It did take me a while to get to be able to do it without thinking though...

    Hello ali
Thank you for the lovely walk and nice vlog🙏🏻
I have the answer for your question. The yarn over is the yarn over the needle en than trough the loop.
The yarn under is the yarn under the needle and than trough the loop this way is the yarn length shorter and can it tighter in the crochet work result.
I hope you understand my comment and i have helped 😘

I don't have one of those modern artefacts, but I still watch it because I like the aesthetics of his shows, and I usually get a few ideas to use in my very 20th century cooking. As a qualified chef, I can honestly say, NEVER refer to Jamie Oliver! He's the worst of the worst! He couldn't even keep a pasta restaurant open in Glasgow and pasta is super cheap to make. He had a prime location too. In fact there's an Italian restaurant maybe a couple hundred meters from where his restaurant was and it's been there for years! He's just not very good at what he does! And he messed up school dinners for kids! As someone who worked in that sector I saw from behind the scenes what he did and it wasn't good. I'm just not too fond of him, can you tell?
