Incredible video. Lovely composition and it said so much without a single voice. It speaks for itself. The upgrades were all worthy functional improvements without overshadowing the primary kit. Well done.
Wow, I love this video, from the music, the story behind some of the pieces, and I love your set. I’ve customized mine too, a little different than yours but I do have several of those pieces. The stove canister insert is a must specially during fire bans. I have the 27 and the 28 (mini). Thanks so much for such great video.
Alas this one not from the 70s .. the tent made the duration but the original Trangia melted in the 90s too many meth spills … I got a 25 and a 27 in the 90s but the 27 got stolen … I remember t with a second 25 so I had two when our kids were small … but I’ve since given one of those to my daughter and her husband as they got into camping . But we are now left with one 25 which is perfect for two ! They really do last though … Thanks for taking time to comment happy cooking out in the wild
WOW! - a similar reaction to that of my little sister when she saw Mary Poppins unpack her bag for the first time. Love the mini cheese grater. I miss my Trangia - it got left behind at a campsite and by the time we realised and went back it had vanished. 😥
Haha love that comparison.. I’ll take that glad but without bursting into song . I hate losing things , I kick myself for years after . Many thanks for watching bud
What a great name for a tent ! My old one is made by ‘Trek & Field’ but I don’t know the model name Since it was my Dads .. I know he paid a lot of money for it in the 70s Incredible it’s still holding up . Very water proof . And still fairly light .
Thank you so much for this. I've just bought the saute pan as I realised it can be used on my 27 as well as the 25. The plates and bowls fit great. I presume it's the 25 so they'd be too big for the 27.
Hi, Yeah my trangia is the 25. I bought the snow peak plates just because they are so light . It was just luck they fit so perfectly in the trangia. but yeah I'm sure they would be too big for the 27 .,,.. I used to have a 27 but it got stolen. So I can't try it to give you that info for 100% .
@@adamroots3429 mine has not arrived yet. I ordered it as it states (or I've read somewhere) that it does fit on the very outer/high section of the raised pan arms (the frying pan sits on the lower bit) mine arrives Monday so I'll let you know for sure then.
Some good ideas there with bowls & plates. I have a Trangia 27 in Duossal (stainless steel inner, aluminium outer pan & the 2 pots) Good kit for motorcycle touring here in Australia. Most recent addition is the gas burner due to fire bans if I'm unlucky enough to need to be on the road during those times. A Kelly Kettle Trekker is good outside those times. Thank you for sharing 👍
@@Magoo652 Thank you mate , bloody great ain’t they . The gas burner gives you loads more control. I’ll have to look up Kelly kettle trekker.. Cheers for watching All the best
@LeanIntoTheWind As you are cooking for 2, the Trekker may be too small. I would suggest looking up Kelly Kettle Scout. Ghillie Kettle is another brand with different sizes. No need to carry fuel, leaves, twigs, bark to burn. Cheers👍
Yeah I love gas , I find meths so messy and had too many spillages over the years .. but the meths burner so small it’s worth taking on a trip because if you run out of gas you can nearly always get meths .
Ah, but what have you done with that glorious kettle. I love mine to death. Its just so civilized when wild camping, or stealth camping here in Canada. Thank you for sharing your brilliant mod on such a genius bit of kit. Cheers from Montreal QC.
Haha I love the kettle too . However since I’m not backpacking but on a motorcycle I can spare the room and weight to carry a jetboil . So hence I never used the kettle again … the Trangia only comes out once we set up camp . But with the jetboil we often pull over anywhere for a coffee or tea .. when the views too good to pass up . And that’s so quick an easy .. and so fast . Great to hear from you there in Canada.. cheers for the comment (that I expected to receive soon as this video went up but never did) best wishes From Leigh-On-Sea UK
Hi man - love this video I've had my Trangia for over 15 yrs now and not once has it occurred to me to put plates inside the main body, so easy ,so simple , so with that what diameter are your snowpeak plates? - loving the channel by the way a real breath of fresh air. Looking forward to seeing the channel grow and your next adventures
Don’t beat yourself up , it took me 30 years to figure it haha . Ah man thanks for kind words , really appreciated and a boost to keep trying . We are just feeling our way . The snow peak titanium plates only come in one size which is 18cm . I hope that helps . But also incase you don’t know on the Trangia website they now sell plates that sit snug on the outside of the Trangia . You can stack 4 and still get strap around . Very lightweight also .
@@LeanIntoTheWind Hi ya me again - thanks for the tip , Trangia plates now ordered , love that they can be stacked snug on the outside of the stove - neat idea. defo a thumbs up from me.

Anything non stick that has scratches or peels should be chucked out it’s so toxic . U just don’t need it I like the titanium plates & bowls and iv not used the gas b4 because I don’t mind waiting for water to build because I’m using it to steam or making it safe . I do have a mini gas cooker if I want speed . Iv never liked cutting on to plastic board especially because of germs so I pack small bit of wood fr that & use a normal k.f.s. Set & wooden spoons & mini spatula . After all I don’t use a tent so them extra weight I don’t care about. Good video tho
Don’t quite follow … The whole cooker is Trangia , the gas burner is Trangia , the larger frying pan is Trangia.. saucepan trang a , was just highlighting I found plates and other items that I managed to fit inside . I travel on motorcycle so space is limited,
