Looking at finally getting a "civilian" Trangia after using the Swedish military one for a very long time, this was a great help. Agreed about the alcohol burner, I've had more than a few accidents with the alcohol burner. Thankfully none damaged life, limb, or valuable property. I didn't even know they had one with a gas burner until I got on the Trangia website. My hearing's a bit knackered anyway so the noise of a gas burner is more relaxing than the silent alcohol burner. Nice tip about the grease-proof paper. Nice tip about the titanium plates too. PS - if you look up Trangia's youtube channel, you'll see a video of a Trangia cooking class they did. They're all using the gas burner! What does that tell you?
Wow, very helpful. I car/tent camp but still try to streamline my Trangia 25 along with a Jetboil for quick meals and hot drinks. I took an idea from You Tube and bought a thin steel 6” metal plate to spread the heat more evenly while cooking. I got tired of burning food in the center of the pans with the propane stove. Seems to work a charm and fits nicely in the lid. It was only $3.00 on EBay, so I thought why not! I also use a cooling rack with small legs that lifts the fry pan high enough to not snuff out the flame above it. I keep my 25 in an old canvas Musette bag in order to keep all this kit together along with my spice kit and everything I need to cook up a meal for two. If I was on a motorcycle, I would probably set my kit up just like yours though!😂 thanks for sharing your thousands of years of wisdom with us! Sifu! 😅😊
@@gud2go50 that’s great love your inventions too , so adaptable, this is why I love Trangia , so many folks tweaks them to suit their needs , custom coolers !!! 1000 years is a long long time to be adapting … best wishes mate

Great stoves I’ve been using mine for 43years. The only thing I disagree with is meths I only use meths. I do have to be gas burner bit only used it 2/3 times. I love the silence of meths I use a trangia nearly every day in some form or other.
Ah I never thought about the silence, that’s a good point . But then again , I’m A noisy bastard . Great to hear you been using them all that time . Freaks me out I’ve watched so many videos on Trangia and most peoples cookers look like that never been used .. they literally mint . My first one I used so much , the base literally melted , so would no longer hold that meths burner . I knew then it was time for a new one .
@@LeanIntoTheWind I agree my 1st one was dented crushed and bashed the pots had had it so I decided to buy 2 new ones both 27s a standard and a HA one. The one I use the most is the one I made up myself from trangia parts. A triangle a HA pot a kettle and a mini fry pan because I’m solo it’s perfect for me. Trangia are addictive and j want the red 25 and the multi fuel burner 😀. Anyways enjoy and safe journeys on your bike. I used to ride to miss it a lot 👍

Am a sucker for camping stoves have a few but the best one I have is a petrol Primus stove which is 75 years old which I pulled out of a skip it’s 15 cm tall by 9 cm wide I always use when on my bike and just use the petrol from the bike so never run out of fuel carry on

Fatter, calmer, wiser, divorceder.. fuck it, get the bike out! EDIT: good to see the panscrub too!!!
It’s just the traditional black jet boil . I’ve had it 4/5 years so far . No problem at all . Are they supposed to break ? My brothers both had same one I got and they bought theirs few years before me , and both still good too .
Definitely one of the best custom Trangia kits I’ve seen.. hands down. I really like this! 👍👍
