Ball pythons are so spectacular! They aren't perfect, but they are such a great size and have such amazing personalities. Thank you for highlighting them. Great video, and the jewelry looks amazing!
I love ya, Clint but I'm gonna have to disagree. Ball Pythons are perfect. Well, _my_ Ball Pythons are perfect. No, I'm not biased! It's a totally objective assessment! Lol
Hey Clint's i bougth a ball pyton in beginning 2018. i did not buy any more ball python. but instead your top 5 beginner snakes. cornsnake ball python hognose kenyan sandboa cornsnake o wait i bought your top 4. il geus i got to buy a king snake aswell
Brooke _ Bumblebee that’s so cool! I was lucky to have parents who both love reptiles, so I was able to have several snakes growing up. Congratulations on your first snake! ❤️
Big pro: ball pythons are CUTE. If you want to convince your parents it's definetly easier with a puppy face snake than with a more dagerous looking colubrid. My mom for exanple really doesn't like snakes and even she thinks my ball python looks cute and harmless.
I have great news! I showed this video (along wit a few other this type of videos) to my dad and my stepmother and they gave me the permission to get a ball python! I'll be getting my first ever danger noodle in September! I'M SO HAPPY
My ball python has significantly helped ease my depression. I’m prone to bouts of depression and was going through one when I finally got Echo (the snake) and I felt so much joy. She was so peaceful but exciting to watch. I was so fascinated and Echo (like many bp’s) was really curious. It’s only been 3 weeks but I feel happier than I have in a long time. Even without the “emotional bond” of a dog, you can still make a connection with your snake through trust. When the snake begins to trust you is a very different and pleasant feeling than when the snake is unfamiliar and uncertain of you.
I just got my 15 year old daughter a ball python about 2 weeks ago. She asked about 8 months ago. Then she showed me some of your videos. Now I'm subscribed myself. I have to say, on the day we bought him I was just as excited as her. He's so cute!! Thanks for all of your wonder videos and information.
You made a similar video awhile back and I showed it to my husband (who is afraid of snakes!). It worked like a charm. You calmed his worries very well! We now have our lovely normal BP rescue for 3 months now.
Just got my first ball python a week ago after extensive research. A 5 month old Pastel Het Pied female. Shes doing great, and I like your channel a lot thanks fkr the great videos :)
Great video- I couldn’t agree more with these points save for one thing: I disagree that they are easy to rehome, especially normals. I say this based on my experience with reptile rescue, so many normals get surrendered to my local herp society and animal shelters, and not only is it difficult to find foster homes, many fosters are unable to rehome their normal ball pythons. The market has lent to folks very sadly seeing them as disposable and boring :(
You inspired me to get a ball python 10 months ago and my girl is the best pet I've ever had. Now I also have 3 other very different reptiles and I love them all. Very thankful for your channel.
So true about wanting more than one. I have to constantly rein myself in from buying more. The ones we have are amazing and we just keep on wanting more!
I think it’s really important to look at both pros and cons for any pet you’re thinking of getting. I would love to see the “cons” for ball pythons! ❤️ I love your videos!
I must say, when I first watched you videos like 2 weeks ago I had some struggles to get used to your accent but now I find it so pleasant that I'm obsessed with your videos! Greetings from Switzerland🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭
You're right. Ball pythons are addicting. I have one and im getting the fever to get more. If I only had the space. I think I need to find a bigger house...with a spare room for ball pythons only.
Can you do a video of *EVERYTHING* needed for a ball python. Examples: size tanks for for different size of ball python; necessities that aren't talked alot like a hydrometer, or enrichment peices; detailed info for mice/rat size feeding; When to handle, like how long after feeding/shedding. Just a very detailed video for set up, care for different sizes/ages. Please and thanks!
Hello Josser! Love the channel, informative, helpful and entertaining! I recently decided to get my first snake, and I went with the Blue Eyed Leucistic. Have one pre-ordered and I'm anxious to meet her! Thanks again!
Edit: Just got her Thursday. No problems as far as i can tell (aside from her sometimes hiding under her water bowl). We are going to attempt first feeding on Wednesday. Pretty much left her alone, only handled her once sense she got home. Wanted her nice and de-stressed for her first feeding attempt. Decided to call her Luna!
Just rescued another ball a few months back, since we bonded she comes to glass when I sit near tank and talk or just lays next to me on bed. Awesome snakes
Would love to see the downs as well, got my 1st snake (a mojave female) and although I did a good year worth of research before getting her, but we're still new to each other. There's always ups and downs to every species and I believe it would only be fair to do a all around for the goods and bads.
I love ball pythons! So long as the keeper does proper amount of research before getting an animal (especially a first reptile/snake), usually it's fine. Although, I do prefer reccomending corn snakes for first timers just because ball pythons can go off feed so easily and their humidity requirements.
i used to be terrified of snakes but my friend has 35 ball pythons and i went over to her house and held her snake sausage and now im getting one on friday 😊😍😂
My boyfriend used to be terrified of snakes and when I told him that one day I'm gonna own one, he straight up said no. I then found out there was a reptile store (that sells everything required for the reptile, snakes, lizards, fish, frogs, turtles.) in my city and decided to take him there. They have a couple of snakes that were donated to them that live there 24/7 and customers can hold them... I ended up holding one blue-eyed lucy and bf came over and wanted to hold it. He now can't wait until we move in together so we can get a couple snakes (one for him and one for me........ for the simple fact that if there's a breakup, we don't fight over the snake.) I'm so excited to own one eventually!
I love Ball Pythons nut my first snek was an Kenyan Sand Boa. Her name is Lucy. I got her because I wants a smaller snek but I also like the thick sneks too.
Hi Josser, I really love your vids so please keep up the amazing work! I have made the decision to get my first snake, Im gonna pick one up from the upcoming Århus exhibition :) It´s been a hard choice between a hognose and a ball python, but Im gonna go with the BP. My only concern with the BP is how to prevent mold in the enclosure, as i used to house scorpions that had a high humidity as well and I did run into mold problems, and yes I did keep the enclosure clean. Any tips or tricks on that issue?
Definitely do a video on the downsides. Too many people buy pets without being exposed to the negatives beforehand. Knowing what you're getting in to is paramount to responsible pet ownership. All knowledge in this regard is important.
Can you make a video on the proper way and safe way to travel with your snake? Some people say the best thing is a pillowcase I just want to make sure that's true or how you would do it if you already made a video can you put it in a link for I can watch it?
So I need your help Josser, I have recently gotten a California King from a friend that couldn’t keep her anymore, and the problem I am having is that when I try to pick her up she will try to run away or she will quickly turn like she is defensive, this occurs even when she is just moving around the Terrarium flickering her tongue, this is my first snake and I have gotten bitten by a snake before and have had a difficult time with them ever sense, thanks in advance and love you’re videos 😊
I have a ball python that I got a few days ago. The women at the pet store said he is very friendly and calm. I was wondering when is the best time of day to handle him. Should I do it during the day time or is it ok to handle him at night time as well
Josser!!! I just got my first bally and I have him in a 20 gallon tank. I have a heat pad on one side set to 92, but the cool side still seems a little to chilly? I’ve insulated the outside of the tank with cardboard (found this hack online.) and cover some of the screen top with towels. STILL TOO COLD. it’s around 75-76 degrees. I know it’s supposed to be around 80 degrees. Got any tips??
Can you do a video on african black house snakes, I had one that I bought for 60 st the reptile expo. Unfortunately the snake guy wasn't there and it was just some volunteer, they were very nice but I didn't get much information. The snake I got was so cute and sweet and I only had her for probably less then two months. I'm not sure what I did wrong but I did nake sure the temp was right and she ate twice I think and shed once but soon passed away. She was just a baby and she might have had bloodmites but it was very hard to tell because she was very dark and small. I've never had a problem with them before so I don't know how big they are. But I wanted to know what else could have happened if not that. It would mean a lot to me, and I miss her very much.
YAY!!! JOSSERS UPLOADED!! I have a ball python named clyde, named after the ghost in pacman because he has a little ghost on his side. Hes a normal morpe/royal morpe. (Question! Are those types of ball pythons the same??) Love you and your animals to death! Edit: hes about 10 months old, thought i should say that for some reason.😁✌
"Normal" refers to the standard look of the snake. "Royal" is the other name of the breed (they were called Royal Pythons for a long time before the name Ball Python came along). Also, "Normal" isn't really a morph because the word morph refers to differences from the standard (mutations, if you will). Albino, Pastel, Banana, etc are all morphs because they're different from the standard or "normal" look of a Ball Python. I hope this helped!
I am so discussed with Pet Co. Last night I went their because my poor parakeet Dexter's mate died and he is so lonely he is pacing back and forth singing for her so I broke down and went to the only pet store in town but all the birds were sick. I also looked to my side and I saw a mouse just making constant circles in the cage it had some kind of brain damage I was disgusted and left. I am so glad I get my frozen mice for my snacks by mail. I am sorry I had to tell someone about this I am so disgusted. Thanks for reading if you do.
Not with the proper enclosure. The only people I've seen having problems out here are those who insist on keeping their BPs in screen-top aquariums. As soon as they get past the idea that an aquarium is meant for something other than fish and get a proper enclosure, their snakes are fine. All of mine have a maintained 55-65% humidity with nothing more than wide water dishes as their source of humidity. Perfect sheds every time and no respiratory issues. Even a basic tub setup is far superior to a fish tank for keeping BPs.
I really think you should re think saying easy to rehome, because at least in the United States it is very hard to rehome adult snakes, and if it is a normal pattern it is even harder.
hi im a snake lover and i have a question i need someone to shed some light on , im getting a red tail boa and i need to know if under mat heater or a dome light or both i need help
Hello completely off topic but I’m looking for a new cage or enclosure my adult ball python and I’m just what’s the best type of cage that i can get and where I can get it
Yeah, I would like to see that vid. Also, you should make a rat vid. I just got into rats and your a “unusual pet” owner so I would like to see a different vid like that

My Little Girl Athena (BallPython) shes got this pocket of liquid on her side .. & im not sure what it is . Shes healthy other wise very active & shes just eat few days ago .. i just had to help her poo she was a bit constipated but fine now .. & her husbandry is okay .. Please help ! 😖
The terrarium hardly smells at all, and if you clean it as soon as they poop/pee you wont have any issues at all :-) It also depends on the substrate that you are using, if you are going for dirt/coconut fiber it might smell a little bit like plants in a pot :-)
Hey, I'm thinking about getting a snake but are they all like $100+ dollars? I've been searching for a ball or corn snake for weeks now. Anyone have any tips or something foe finding a cheapish snake under $100?
i love your channel but i kinda disagree, i have 2 balls but i recommend people to get a cornsnake first because their easier!! i still have problems feeding my ball phytons while my corn takes his meal everytime. anyways, still an awesome video
@@ChrisDMack can be temperamental eating sometimes, Before a shed or transferred to a new enclosure can take a couple of weeks worst case couple of months. But a common fix the pros outway the cons!
@@southsideslondon ohok I thought something was off with my snake eating. Sometimes she just wont eat. Now you saying it's a common issue to all pythons
Study hard, become successful, buy a big house, have a snake enclosure in every room, and then invite them over for Thanksgiving dinner. At least, that's what I did.
ol#1e it's very unlikely for them to bite. If they do its usually because of how they are approached or handled. Or if they aren't fed well and the temp is too high they will get ill and may bite. But when they do its not bad.
If you're not afraid of cats, you shouldn't be afraid of a Ball Python. They're far less likely to bite you and even if they do, they'll do a lot less damage.
Anything with teeth, including people, can bite. But ball pythons are very easygoing so they're unlikely to. Mine has bitten me twice (feeding mishaps, she struck for the rat and got my hand instead), it's very fast and didn't hurt at all, no blood or wound. I've been bit by dogs, cats, hamsters, mice and guinea pigs and the ball python was the least painful by far.
@@TheCharleseye yes that is true, but it's really important that it is maintained. There are many examples of the collapse of ecosystems in Australia after exotic animals have been introduced. My desire to have a ball python should not be considered more important than the ecosystems of Australia's native fauna. Is it annoying? Yes. Is it necessary? Even more so.
Meredith Navin it’s not the government fault it’s irresponsible people who release these animals because it’s easier then trying to find a new home it. Unfortunately I see people buying ball pythons all the time not understanding the commitment they’ve made and making the animal pay for it in some way.
Ball pythons are so spectacular! They aren't perfect, but they are such a great size and have such amazing personalities. Thank you for highlighting them. Great video, and the jewelry looks amazing!

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a snake but are they all like $100+ dollars? I've been searching for a ball or corn snake for weeks now. Anyone have any tips or something foe finding a cheapish snake under $100?

Wake me I have a little corn snake he’s a little nippy
I have a 20 gallon tank for it but I don't know what size of heat pad

i love your channel but i kinda disagree, i have 2 balls but i recommend people to get a cornsnake first because their easier!! i still have problems feeding my ball phytons while my corn takes his meal everytime. anyways, still an awesome video
#1 reason, Ball Pythons have puppy-dog faces 🙂
Is there anything negative about having a ball python?? Please do tell
Not really a negative but only issue would be them going of there food, can be a few different factors!
@@southsideslondon what do u mean "going of their food"
@@ChrisDMack can be temperamental eating sometimes, Before a shed or transferred to a new enclosure can take a couple of weeks worst case couple of months. But a common fix the pros outway the cons!
@@southsideslondon ohok I thought something was off with my snake eating. Sometimes she just wont eat. Now you saying it's a common issue to all pythons
@@ChrisDMack mainly balls/royals mate nothing major

I want a Ball python so bad!!! But my parents won’t let me :’v , what should I do?? Xd
Study hard, become successful, buy a big house, have a snake enclosure in every room, and then invite them over for Thanksgiving dinner. At least, that's what I did.
Does it bite? If yes, How hard.
ol#1e it's very unlikely for them to bite. If they do its usually because of how they are approached or handled. Or if they aren't fed well and the temp is too high they will get ill and may bite. But when they do its not bad.
You shouldn't get a snake. That was the least herper question ever.
Any animal with teeth can bite. Ball pythons don’t tend to bite but if thy do, it doesn’t hurt really at all
If you're not afraid of cats, you shouldn't be afraid of a Ball Python.
How much do they pee and poop? I’m trying to convince my mom 😂🥺
It depends, but usually they poop/pee when they shed, which again depends on how fast they grow. But on average, I would say every 3-4 week.
20 years? They can live up to forty years with proper care.
One downside is that you CAN'T GET THEM IN AUSTRALIA!!! 😖😖😭😭😭
That's a downside of an overbearing government, not of Ball Pythons.
