Your videos really pushin me to own a pet snakes in the future and thank you for that
Nikolai Ninja i really want one right now but its hard to find the right stuff and the snakes in the philippine so i stick with mammals and ish but i would like to own one someday
Nikolai Ninja ahh well i look forward to it
Nikolai Ninja you should make videos too
You pretty much covered it all, just a few more essentials all snake owners should have.
- Reptisafe to add to water
- Feeding tongs
- moss (to add to one of the hides when snake is in shed
😉
Thats another "good to have" but i would not say its essential.
You don't need moss when they're in shed, just spray down their substrate to bring up the humidity.
Thank you!!!
Just bought a ball python about 2 weeks ago... glad I've got almost all of the necessary items because of my corn snakes
You should already have all of the essentials, especially after 2 weeks, what are you doing??
@@shokiito6962 getting all the essentials like he/she said
@@shokiito6962 Missing a working hygrometer and a second proper sized hiding place, only one of my corns old ones fitted.
I use a wooden terrarium with cork background (climbing platforms included), jungle bedding substrate, ceramic heating bulb (non light emitting) with thermostat, LED light for day-night-cycle, water bowl, cork bark hide. And because this enclosure didn't include one, a new terrarium lock.
@@BlueHeronFire do u recommend any hydrometers
What a perfectly timed video. I feel like a new parent struggling with their first kid 🤦♂️
My pet ball python is coming my way this Tuesday!! I’ve been researching a lot and you’ve definitely been an incredible help!! I’ve been staying up at night watching your videos just to ease some of my nerves! But I feel pretty confident in my setup now and am very excited about taking care of Xochi 🥰 thanks!
I would say another need to have is a digital thermometer! Super helpful to keep an eye on temps all over the enclosure, easy to get hold of and very affordable!
Watching video while corn snake sleeps in in the sleeves of the hoodie i'm wearing
This is really random but I love that painting in the background with the orange snake. Awesome video and my ball python appreciates this
Me too!
I personally prefer ceramic heat emitters (with a lamp guard and thermosat) for my snakes. I use wooden vivariums because I live in the U.K. and it’s hard to use a heat mat unless it’s inside the enclosure which is dangerous.
I prefer the ceramic heaters because in the wild the heat comes from above (the sun) so I think it’s more natural. It also warms the air and the whole enclosure is a nice temperature. With heat mats I found that the floor was warm but the air was cold. I found that my snakes were more active with the heat lamp too. It’s up to you what you choose that’s just my opinion 😁
Another great video! So glad to see you regularly again!
so excited youre kind of uploading again!
The extra tub is definitely an excellent idea.
First time watching one of your videos since adopting my boop noodle. I did research for over a year, so I have to admit it is very satisfying taking care of him and having all the information from you match up with my own (albeit limited) experience. (Including him being a picky eater!)
Keep it up you have made my dream come true...with your video of you telling my mum and dad that I deserve and need this snake and I sent it to them and IT WORKED THANK YOU SO MUCH plus I love your videos bc I learn a lot and I love that💞🥺💞thank you!!!💞🥺💞
Great video as usual! I would really love to see another video on Kingsnakes as well. I'm considering a Mexican Black Kingsnake, but i've seen so many people talking about how their feeding response is strong and that they tend to bite a lot. It´s very confusing really, some people say it will go away as they grow, some say their snakes kept those instincts as adults. Can you maybe make a video about that?
Love your videos . i am learning lots about ball pythons , i finally got my own ball python.
Something to note about enclosure size; a small snake might get stressed out in an enclosure which is too large for it. I'm not sure about any specifics but i'm pretty sure that a baby ball would be stressed out in an enclosure meant for an adult. Just something to note, tbf if the snake has multiple hides it shouldn't be too big of a deal.
Awesome video
I hope everything is OK❤️ you seemed bothered or upset about something I could be wrong🤷♀️ but you did not seem like yourself today. Love your videos❤️ Love this information! I to have two ball pythons, a corn snake and a black Mexican king snake🥰
Emily
You're so sweet! I was super annoyed with the light, because there wasnt enough to make a good looking video! Well spotted!
Great video ! Every ball python owner should watch this lo
Awesome formula regarding recommended enclosure size! Just out of curiousity is it the standard in Denmark?
Good question, not sure what standard is in denmark. Many keep them in racks and tubs for what I know. :-)
How do you feel about radiant heat panels with ball pythons?
It's a lot more expensive than a heat mat... but what are your thoughts on a Radiant Heat Panel?
Personally I like them better. They're more "natural", since heat doesn't come from the ground. They're less likely to burn the snake (with the heat mat, my BP would burrow directly down to the bottom, which makes me nervous). RHP are safe to the touch, and will never burn an animal. Plus they last FOREVER, and are much more energy efficent.
Can you make a video on how to make your ball python more comfortable around you
Absolutely!
@@JossersJungle thanks!
Is it possible to use gaffer's tape on the sides of the terrarium? :)
I live in southern California and don't have air conditioning so summers can be very hot without it. Its also very dry here and not a lot of humidity. Will a ball python be okay if I don't have AC if it needs to cool down?
what thermostat do you recommend? for the heat mat
I'm making a 30 gal. Terrarium for my ball python.im doing it naturalist . what's the best heat mat for this application ...I do live in America if that helps you to help me.... thanks Charley
Can u do a corn snake essential video. please
Absolutely!
thanks, I have been looking to get a corn snake for a while. And I find you're videos really helpful in looking into them
@@JossersJungle I'd definitely be interested in a corn snake vid. Not sure if I'd ever own one but ya never know. I'm getting my first ball tomorrow. I'm so happy I've stumbled upon your ch.
Hi Josser! I really love your Golden Girl.. What morph is she? ❤
Hi Rebecca, she's a pastel caramel albino :-)
Hi and thank you for the information, I do need advise however, could I place a small heat mat under a thick hiding spot and not directly under my terrarium? I’ve got layers of soil gravel and substrate that would not allot the heat from the mat to reach the snake definitely
I wouldn't recommend it. If the snakes try to bury and ends up directly on it, it can cause some serious burns. :-)
@@JossersJungle thank you so much! Do you have an email where I can show you a picture of what my terrarium looks like and perhaps you could advise on heat issue I am having after seeing it?
I had the rescue that I adopted my first snake from tell me not to use heat mats due to the risk of burns. I used lights with my snakes, and have to agree that it definitely stressed them out. How do you feel about the risk of burns or do you feel that there isn't a risk?
If you use a thermostat and regularily check that it doesnt malfunctio there shouldnt be any problem :-)
@@JossersJungle Thank you so much!! 😁
Hello! I got my snake a few months ago now and the pet store said he was about 3 years old. I was wondering will he keep growing past this age or is he done? I know I'd need to buy him a new tank eventually if he's still growing. They're just so expensive haha.
Is it a boy of a girl? Girls get bigger. Probably not going to grow much more 😊

You can use the same for the cornsnake, otherwise have a look at this

Don't forget that you need a thermostat for a heat mat!
I believe I wrote that on the screen :-)
@@JossersJungle oh sorry, I was listening and crocheting at the same time
Oh that is so awesome!!
We're do you put heat mat in a wooden enclose pls.
I would get a plastic tub or glass terrarium instead of the wood one
Question . Is it normal for a young ball python to lay slightly on the side after a meal ?
Baby male
Yes it can be, if they have a full stomach they might lay a little bit on the side while digesting :-)
Jossers Jungle ok cool thanks 🙏🏽
Dont use light for ball python s they dont need light as they mostly live in a termite mounds and rarely see light.. bake tree branches in oven at 200° for an hour
luv this! i am getting a ball python soon! i have a question... i want a baby so i can bond with it but i want it to be nice and know that it will be in the future. then i thought abt getting an adult. but i want to watch it grow. so i am thinking abt getting an 8 month old ball python. is that a good choice? thx
My ball python is 8 months old now, when I got him he was 3 weeks old. If you get an 8 month ball python, you should make sure that it is docile and used to people. If not, you should go with a younger one
Ethan Vera ok thx so much! do baby ball python stay that same tamnes when they r an adult if they r sweet when they r young?
@@anyadelaplane-yusem1413 as long as you take it out of its enclosure at least once a week it will stay tame, but if you rarely take it out, it will be more defensive. Also I got my ball python more used to me by taking it out every day accept for when I fed it. But be careful if you do that, they might get stressed. I slowly took it out more often
@@anyadelaplane-yusem1413 and you shouldn't handle the BP for at least 2 days after you fed it. As a hatchling you feed it every 5 to 6 days. Then raise it to every 7 days when its adult. I feed my 8 month ball python medium mice every 6 days
Goodluck!
@@ethanvera1031 handling ball pythons everyday is stressful for them
Har næsten lige erhvervet mig min første konge python og er slet ikke i tvivl om at jeg kommer til at købe flere mega fedt dyr!
What about Vivariums? That’s what reptiles in England have 😂
ah has anyone married this woman yet haha
I think I love you... 😍😚
