  • In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to cut out the inside and outside of stamped images using the Brother Scan N’ Cut. For this tutorial, I used the Seaside Shore stamp set by Stampin' Up. I stamped the anchors in Dapper Denim ink onto Whisper White card stock. I used a blade depth of 5. First, I used the Scan to Cut Data feature and saved the inside and outside of the anchor. Then, without removing the mat, I retrieved the save data. I then I cut out the stamped images and the holes in the top of the anchor were cut out. Now I can use them for tags. Great tutorial. I bought this machine to cut out my stamps so I don't need to buy dies. Your tutorial makes it so easy to cut out insides. Thank you.

      You are very welcome. Seems like each tutorial leads to more challenges and questions. Right after this, I cut out scissors from the Crafting Forever set. I added an outline on the outside and then cut out the inside. Then, someone asked if there was a way to cut an outline around the inside. I said there isn't an easy way that I know of. Here we go. I will try to figure it out. ua-cam.com/video/dznTCPdQpDI/v-deo.html

    Thank you for sharing this information. Once or twice I was able to cut out the inside of things, but it was totally by accident -- I didn't know why it worked or how to make it happen. I took some notes now! I can't make heads or tails of the manual... Can't wait to see your next video. Sounds interesting!

      My husband laughs at me because I hate reading the manual. He can't understand why. I'm self taught but will look up specific things here and there. Thanks for watching Kathy. More to come.

    You have no idea how many videos I've been watching about this and finally I found this one where you explain so clearly, so thank you! However I have a problem and don't know whether the machine is defective or is it me ( since I have followed everything exactly as explained). Here's my problem and I hope you can help me (please!) I just bought my scan n cut 350, tried it and only the first time it cut nicely the image I scanned. After that, when I tried subsequent cuts the machine is cutting not the image I select but only the tiny spaces in between! I must mention that I am not scanning stamped images but a printed cardstock page that has several images on it. Can you help please? Thanks!

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому

      Lisette, thanks for your comment. It made my day. I offer classes too since you are new and use the ScanNCut 2 or CM350 for the classes. Now, back to your question. The important thing to remember is that if you want to cut the outside and inside of a stamped image, you would select the second option when using Scan to Cut Data. Then, you would not remove your paper from the mat. It only works in that exact spot. So, you retrieve your saved image and then cut it. You can use Direct Cut again which will only do the outside of your scanned image. Once you remove your mat, you pretty much have to start the entire process all over again because your scanned image moved. thepaperedchef.com/brother-scanncut-courses

    Question... if I wanted to cut out another batch of anchors, can I do that with the saved image? I won’t stamp them till after I cut them out. Hope I am asking it right.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  6 років тому

      Oh yes, of course. Say for example you have a stamping precision tool like the Stamparatus or Misti. Then, you can cut out a bunch of blank shapes. Make yourself a little template. Then, one at a time, place the anchors into your template and stamp away. I showed an example of this trick in one of my former videos. I will go and grab the link. Thanks for watching.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  6 років тому

      Xanadumindbody, here is a link to my MISTI stamping trick. So, if you had a bunch of anchors, you would want to place each one into the template so it doesn't slip. Then, the stamp would line up. ua-cam.com/video/MkFnFtAXpps/v-deo.html

    • @xanadumindbody
      @xanadumindbody 6 років тому +1

      Perfect. I love the idea to save cut designs and just stamp with misti. Thank you.

    I'm working on Christmas mugs with designs on them....I don't want the design to cut out, just the hole for the handle of the mug. The image you show is very simplistic it just one inside and one outside line, but how do you do it if you have multiple lines. This could be the same problem the lady with the basket is having, it keeps trying to cut out all the basket weave pieces, and not the area between basket and handle which is the same problem I'm having. Maybe it not possible and I just have to cut the handles out by hand. If not so, or anybody knows how I can do this, would love a shout out on how, and a video would be premo!!!

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому

      I did a video with a basket with had loads of lines. I deleted some of them, kept just the inside of the basket and then resized it. Let me get the link. It was very tricky but you can apply this concept to your project too.
