    This is so clever! I wouldn't have thought to do this in a million years!

      Thanks for watching Kathy. My friend Rita wanted to find an easier way to cut out letters. She created a Hawaii shadow box with stencils and it took her two days. Now she is hooked on using the Brother ScanNCut.

      Honestly, you should be a spokesperson for Brother. Your videos are incredibly helpful.

      Maybe some day! I will be one of those spokespeople who would tell it like it is and suggest that Brother take note of how Cricut makes their mats which actually STICK!

    I really like your Scan-n-cut videos. I don’t have much time to use mine, and your videos help me a lot!

    Thank you for this unique idea of cutting out letters on photos and for clearing up how to size the letters. Letter dies are so expensive and I wanted to do an eclipse card, so now I can try it. Great job!!! Love the layout. Thanks for sharing.

      @PaperedChef  6 років тому +1

      Anita, doing an eclipse card is a great idea. As long as all of your heights are the same, you will be fine. Just scan in the card as a background and cut the letters right out of the card. They will be centered with little effort. Thanks for watching and for your comment.

      Thanks, I'm still waiting for the picture of the finished Italy shadow box my friend Rita made. After I get it, I will post it on my blog and let you know here so that you can see how it all turned out.

      Oh yes, this is one of my "Oldies but Goodies." I haven't used this technique in a while and it is time to do something similar to this again because it is fun and a different use for the ScanNCut. Which model do you have? Thanks for watching and for subscribing.

    Great video! Thank you.. How can you cut and put the letters on a tee shirt?

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому

      I teach about that in my Advanced Brother ScanNCut course on Udemy. For now, check out how to cut out vinyl. It is a similar process for iron on material but you have to do a couple more steps. In the video I link to, there should be links to my courses in the description. ua-cam.com/video/WiOt97_-zpk/v-deo.html

    Can this be done with more than one photo? I want to put several people in the letter. How would I do this?

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  Рік тому

      Yes, of course. You would have to make the letters very large and wide to fit more people in them. I think you may be better off using Canvas Workspace to design your font instead of working right on the machine like I did here.

    Hello love the video...how can i do this with pictures but to put on tshirt

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому

      They make iron on material but it’s not good for printing photos. You would have to use software for that. Your best bet is to use a print on demand company which lets you design the T-shirt online and then they make it and ship it to you. I’ve made my own shirts before and vowed to never do that again.LOL

      @@PaperedChef thanks for the info...so it is possible since you said you have done it...I love a challenge...if i remeber i will post the outcome...thanks again for the info.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому

      Kimberly Bridges We made 30+ T-shirts for a class but it was with a screen printing machine. I just mean I would never make my own T-shirts again. No matter what the design, I can get it printed and shipped. I still like using iron on vinyl but only to personalize the item with a name or phrase.

    Hi there, could this machine scan photo to print them? For example if I wanted to print picture image and place on a candle? Could I do that or no? I know with Circuit you could . But not sure about BROTHER scan and cut machine.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому

      L Mendoza The Brother ScanNCut and the Cricut are not printers. Both have drawing and cutting tools. You cut with the blades and draw with the pens. With that said, you can turn your photograph into a drawing by tracing it. It is a little advanced but the concept is to turn your image into a line drawing. I’m sure there are ways to print out your image onto some kind of sticker material or vellum to place onto a candle. I have seen them for sale at craft fairs but I didn’t ask them how they made them. Thanks for watching.

    Do you remember what cut setting you had your machine set at for this project?

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  4 роки тому

      Thanks for watching Angela. I had the settings in the description and I had to look myself. It has been a while. It was a blade depth of 5 and the other settings were at their defaults.

    please zoom out so we can see everything you're doing.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  6 років тому +2

      quit playin I’ll try but I’m using my phone on a tripod and don’t know if that is possible from my close position. I plan on upgrading my setup at some point. Thanks for watching.

    • @quitplayin1916
      @quitplayin1916 6 років тому +1

      Papered Chef just set the tripod further away and point and say out loud what you're doing.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  6 років тому +1

      Yes, that would work too but I would rather be close so you can really see the buttons. However, you gave me a great idea. I can film the same thing twice. The first time close and then the next time far away. Then, I can either show both or edit them together in one video. Of course, this would take me a great deal of time but I want to keep improving so I will try new techniques in the future. I was making this project with a friend and she wants to do one for SPAIN next so I can try out some new techniques when we cut out the letters with her images.
