I did my 50 hour this weekend. I struggled a little, can not believe how tight everything was. I have worked on cars all my life . and this thing was a challenge. Thank You for all your help through your video
were you successful? I found the oil filter to be very difficult. if you are struggling with filters, use sandpaper between your hand and the filter for extra grip.
@@PeaceIntheValley I did get it all done. But i have a couple questions. # 1 the front end 80/90 gear oil. I poured it until I seen it coming out of the filler side vent bolt. But it did not come out of the passenger side. However it shows between the lower and upper level on the stick (closer to the top) #2 I fill my transmission up to the top of the red dot. after driving it it is a 1/4" below?
Re your missing Zerks fittings on the steering linkage: Check to make sure you don’t have a small set screw in the hole the Zerks goes into. I have had vehicles and equipment show up that way. You just pull the screw out, and install the Zerks fitting.
In the steering tie-rod end. Also check the u-joints in the driveline for the front axle. the T233 and T273, had issues with the service manual neglecting to say anything about them, and the drive lines failing catastrophically. The u-joints are another place where they put small bolts instead of Zerks fittings, because there had been problems with them getting knocked of in high brush and grass.
Hello PITV this is a very good video and helpful , I have a quick question if thats ok how many inches comes off the height on the ROPS when its folded back any idea , Thank you in advance ! I have the same one coming in soon .
Hi Kelly, I did not notice your comment before. sometimes YT doesn't notify me. I believe it takes about 18" off. I'm not 100% sure, but that is my guess.
I don't have a concrete pad to measure, but if it helps... With the ROPS down it I can fit it in a standard conex box. With the ROPS up, I believe you would need a "high cube" conex box. Pretty healthy difference in cost of those 2 types of boxes around here. I thought ROPS.down would look silly, but acts like a cage around the backhoe ops area, which is actually kinda neat.
what does your RK25 idle at? mine is about 1400 rpm. I can't find a stated rpm in the manual for idle speed. Seems a little high but might be completely normal. great info, just got 5 hrs on mine.
I just checked mine and it's at 1350 or thereabouts. It seems a little high to me also. I don't know if that is because it's only 25 horse and has a pretty big hydraulic pump or not?
I’ve noticed a little oil around the seal of my oil pan on my rk 25. Looks like a very slow weep. It has 18 hours, wondering if you’ve had any experience with seeing it as well.
I have not seen any leaks yet. I keep watching and it would not surprise me. I'm up to 90 hours now on the tractor. What do you intend to do about that?
@@PeaceIntheValley I’m part of a few RK pages on FB and not getting too much help there, may just clean around the seal with degreaser and keep a check on it and see if it continues, if so, I’ll have to get RK service on it, since it is under warranty
Hi Mark, My manual in the appendix section H says "API GL-4 GRADE" for transmission fluid. I think that's just the standard tranny fluid in the buckets at TSC or RK
T264 should be identical to T25 filters trans etc. On T264 there's no need to remove back tire/wheel for filter change shouldn't have to remove it on T25 either. Also that filter is way too cheap to clean with brake cleaner, just change filters you saw metal on the magnet.
my RK dealer didn't even know about this filter. They didn't have it and it wasn't in the manual. I learned about it from Denny Rust - Rusty farms. I don't think you have to remove the tire but it does make it much more accessible.
No offense but you're crazy working around that tractor on a flimsy scissor jack with no jack stands on the axles and one of the wheels off if it gave way your crushed and maimed or dead!! 😳😳
I could have used one of the jack stands but I didn't think this was a problem since I was lifting from the left center, putting the weight on the right wheel. Those are not flimsy scissor jacks. They are rated at 7500 each and have a nice platform on them - better than my jack stands. now if i used my vehicle spare tire jack, it could have been a problem. I will try and use the jack stands too. There is nothing wrong with being more careful than less. Thanks for the advice!
It always feels good to change all the fluids and filters in any machine.
Agreed! Do you think that changing the fluids often is more placebo effect?
Maybe, but I always liked doing it myself.

I'll have to check that out. where in line would that be?

For anyone wondering, you can remove the screen filter with the wheel on

I'm finding it difficult to remove the Trans drain plug what size socket did you use?
HI Matt, are you referring to the transmission, A 7/8" socket works well for me.
@@PeaceIntheValley yes thank you. Happy Thanksgiving
How much gear oil did it take to refill the front axle?
Not 100% sure, but I think it was about 3 gallons
Isn't there still a front axle drain plug toward the center of the axle too, not just on the ends?
Hi Greg, I believe there are two drain plugs. I'm not in front of the tractor right now, but 95% sure you are right.
There should be 3... one in the center, and one on each end.
