- This is a watch I've had my eye on for quite a while. This Marathon Jumbo Search & Rescue (JSAR) watch is made specifically for the Israeli Special Forces YAMAM group.....elite counter-terrorism fighters assigned to the IDF. Its a great watch, and I'm going to enjoy wearing it for a long time. I hope you will enjoy learning about it.
It looks a beast of a watch. The dream of every watch enthusiast.

This is my first Marathon. I think I'd pick up one of the 41mm watches at some point....maybe a quartz. But we'll see.....glad you enjoyed the video

I have the GSAR Diver with the US Govt dial. Really nice. Have mine on the bracelet.
The price of Marathons has gone up a lot since I got mine, was actually my first premium automatic.

Awesome watch. I was heavily considering one of the standard size GSARs a couple weeks ago. Still haven’t pulled the trigger for budget reasons but I love these watches. I thought I was going to have one sooner than later, but I’m going to keep working towards it and when I do eventually get one it’ll be even more satisfying. 👌
These are watches well worth pursing and staying on that course.
Congratulations. It's a very unique timepiece. I used to own the regular 41mm GSAR but I sold it because the oversized crown was digging into my wrist. It is a rugged watch no doubt.

I have this Dane. I've had mine for about a half year. I purchased mine with the ss bracelet with the IDF clasp. I was going to go with Marc but I chose another authorized dealer for Marathon who gave me a heck of a deal. You should really think about getting the bracelet. I purchased mine for the same reasons you did. My favorite day is Saturday on this watch. I'm sure you get what I mean. Enjoy your new grail.
Thank you. Saturday will pop up soon on the watch, so I'll be able to see what you mean. I might get the bracelet at some point in the future.....but for now the Colareb leather strap I have on it is quite comfortable. If I do that, I'll make sure to try to source one with the IDF clasp. I could do without the engraving on the side of the case, but I could certainly deal with it. I love that dial, looks really easy to read. Marathon makes a quality watch for sure.

Technically you have a JDD, as an automatic. The JSAR is quartz.
All I know is the paperwork calls it a JSAR
Just got my hands on a GSAR and found it too small. I think the 46mm will suit me better, so this very watch. Shalom, my dude.

13:00 to 24:00 hours? I thought midnight was 00:00? It’s always bugged me that there is a 24 at TDC rather than a 00. That’s lots of watches, usually field style watches, not just this one. So I assume there’s a reason.
I'm guessing its a mil spec thing.....
