I think it's good value. It looks as if it will last for years and you can fill the containers with what you like once they are empty. The sharpie pen might be useful for writing on the cutting board. Or it could be replaced with a cigar tube and filled with Demerara sugar or whatever.
Thank you for putting out a review for this item. Because of your thorough review I was able to make an informed decision and purchase one. I'm so happy with it and have been able to add a few things of my own to make it my go to item when I go out camping. Thank you Andy.
@@kentsurvivalgearreview586 still unsure what the sharpie is for myself lol...unless it's to rename the spice jars...but I'd do that at home. Got a retractable spatula to add, cut a square of green scourer to add to the cloth and added a couple of old glitter viles filled with saffron and nutmeg. Sorry I've babbled on. Thanks again for the review.
Hey, just bought the spice kit. They do ship abroad. I’m based in Sydney Australia. Perfect for my camping trips. Just what I was looking for. Thanks so much for the review.
Probably poltpropylene. Which will melt in a pan. Plastics are melted to get them into the shape of a spatula or a chopping board for example, and the type of plastic will determine the temperature required to melt it.
Hi Andy, hope you are well. After seeing your video on this little kit I ordered on. They do ship overseas. Just received mine today all the way in Australia
Thanks for this review. I really appreciate that you didn't automatically refer to that multitool as a "Swiss Army Knife" since it's clearly not a legitimate Victorinox product. Aside from that and the pen and folding spork, this kit is pretty decent. I too, would change out those 3 things for better quality items if I was to get this kit...
I’ve had a clamshell zippy box like that lying around for years and I finally know what I’m going to use it for,I’m off to the shop for some packets of tic tacs as well 😉
On your recommendation, I sent for one of these camp kitchens. Love it, I even cooked up some potatoes using the same ingredients as you ( they were lovely) keep up the good work
I didn't realise TikTok sold boxes? Haha we all knew what you meant. Only just found this channel Andy, you mentioned it on your main channel the other day but there was no link and I couldn't find it (didn't look very hard tbh) please put a link into all your other videos from the main channel to the survival one. Thanks and keep up the good work.
I've added an openil knife, small wooden spatula, wooden knife and fork, mustard and ketchup sachets, and a few of the expanding wipes when put in water 😁👌
@@wolfbisbing486 I don't like to throw water on Andy's review, but I think you may be right - that is, for those who are inclined to make things on their own. Not everyone is
@@MHarenArt Andy’s review of the product was great as usual. It’s not even the product itself really. It’s the price. Like Andy said most of it is probably already in your kit. Really it’s the spices that may not be. Which isn’t that hard to make a holder for. Plus it’s only going to be the ones you want.
👍I like this kit, very extendable and adaptable! My cooking kit already contains a knife and a lighter, so I'd swap those out for soy sauce and vinegar in a petling. I have no need for a sharpie, so swap it out for sugar in some kind of container.. The cutting board is smaller than the one I own, it could stay!
seems like a nice kit. other than a better spork, the one change that would be nice would be dish soap (to go with the wash cloth) in place of the pen.
Enjoyed the video, as good as always. The kit does seem a little pricey, considering you/we carry the the kit anyway...so you would just be buying the case??...but I guess if you are starting out, it might be worth a look. Thank you for the video...I do enjoy these kit reviews👍🏻
The food makes the kit look better. I would make a kit with an Opinel knife. THAT Spork is about useless. They could fit a larger cutting surface with no problem. The case and the small containers are the selling point.
Absolutely right. I was thinking the same thing. I would replace the spork, the knife, the cutting board, lose the sharpie and also use my own spices, so I would need the case and the small containers. :) Basically the case only and I would start buying Tic-Tac's. :)))
The spork won't fold if used as a "spoon" as it'll lock when used in the left hand. Almost a good idea. I'd swap the Sharpie (is the cutting board meant to be used as a "whiteboard?") for a suitably sized fork.
Looked like a cute little kit Andy but maybe some cheaper quality items in it obviously to control costs. I think I would want to include fuel cubes or something. As you say good for a beginner and a nice wee case either way.
I agree and once tweaked or if they end up adding to it I think £25/30 is fair considering it’s not yet another poor quality cheap item from Shenzhen 😉
Nice review video Andy 👍. Can't go wrong with stake, egg & Chips 😋😋😋. The pen is, probably for writin on the spice containers. When you refill them, with different herbs. I pre-roll my HERB 😉👍, be4 setting out into the wilderness.
Food looks nice as always. ;-) My idea: Turn the knife 90 degrees. Get rid of the foldable spork and the Sharpie, then place spoon, fork and knife there. And why not a bigger and foldable cutting board? At the moment I am satisfied with my Victorinox - Swiss Army 5.4923 24 Piece Executive Culinary Knife Set w/ Black Case - even if it is a little heavy to carry and lacks a cutting board. ;-)
Great video Andy, like the little case for when taking steaks or doing proper meal/s. What pan is that you’ve got, is it one of the Trangia options or your own addition? Cheers
Andy would you consider making a starter pack for camping? I've been watching your videos and I really want to go camping now but I'm absolutely overloaded with options. Maybe even a tier pack such as beginner/novice, intermediate/casual, expert/frequent?
Tic Tacs Andy ...Tic Tacs 🤭......Tic Tocs is Something else Only thing i can think of for the Sharpie is for Food Bags Def ditch that Spork ,must be Something Similar Good Vid 👍
Should have been one elastic band in the center of each object, rather than one on each end. Would make it easier to get items out. Andy was clearly struggling the whole video with that, and it was enough to convince me not to buy this product. I think the company otherwise has the right idea, so I hope they make an updated version.
Not bad for the price, would I buy it? no, would I be happy to get it for a Christmas gift?, yep. Great for backpackers and walk in campers. For vehicle camping like 99% of Aussie camping its not necessary as we have Esky's and proper cooking setups.
I know it's a small company and everything, but I think you're being a bit extra polite here. 😂 It's not great, is it? You're gonna throw that spork in a fit of rage after using it a few times.
Another good review Andy but I'm not impressed with the product, it's price or its quality. You could make your own, better thought out and better quality for less than half the price I think. Fair play to you for giving them a shout though 👍.
I like that, but its a bit pricey in AUD$. Sometimes these small companies get a bit enthusiastic with their pricing! You need a Sharpie because you never know when you’ll need to sign a random person in the woods’ cast.
haha, you never know! yeah, its a tough one, its so hard now for independents to compete with the chinese stuff.. ive come around to paying a little bit more to buy from genuine people as long as its not taking the piss.
They should ditch the pen and put the pen knife in that slot, then you've got room for Tobasco sauce! No cooking kit is complete without some kind of hot saws!
Obviously nit picking here, but replace the pen with a cheap meat thermometer. Obviously, you can add that to the kit yourself, but that would take it to the next level for me.
Sharpie WHF. Sack the so called designer of this product. I never go camping without a Sharpie, who knows I may need to draw a mustache on me for disguise
This is not the worst camping accessory kit on the market. But its not far off. Needs an Opinel sharp knife, folding chopping board and they could have put two proper KFS instead of the pen. Fail.
£29.99 is wayyyyyy to expensive, I wouldn't trust how fresh the spices are in there and the quality of the other products looks suspect. I don't think this will sell at that price.
Sorry, just a fancy gimmick...You can buy small size empty food grade containers of various sizes on eBay...Fill them with the herbs you like, and one the in a tupperwear box for a fraction of the price...
Actually I don’t like the kit. Only salt and pepper are always needed. Otherwise for a short trip (less than a week) you only want exactly what you need. Spices already portioned and mixed for each meal.
That Nomad Kitchen set sucks! The cutting broad is to small, unless it’s for the fairies. One napkin, not enough oil, The Spork is dumb, and I think the spices are good! But I like your own Spatula, it’s great! I wouldn’t pay $50 for that, I could go to the dollar store and make a better kitchen kit. Don’t need a marker in it!
Thanks for the look and making us hungry, Andy. Have a great week and stay well over there.
Your struggles with the spork were polite. Like the song says: “you’ve got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them”...
I would have launched that fork!

That’s a good idea.....or if Andy’s into it, just the cigar for after dinner!! 😄
I really like their spice rack a lot... been looking for something like this for a while now. Glad that I came across this little company...

Nice wee bit of kit, the multi tool makes for a nice addition. Not sure about the pen, as you say replace the pen for the spatula, many thanks.
I like the idea for lightweight backpacking, but I would prefer the ability to customize it. I wonder if you can only buy the case itself.
Hey, just bought the spice kit. They do ship abroad. I’m based in Sydney Australia. Perfect for my camping trips. Just what I was looking for. Thanks so much for the review.
Hey Andy, I think you could use the chopping board as a spatula, it even has the hole for your thumb ... but I might be mistaken.
It might melt if using in a hot pan.
But he said it's plastic so won't it melt?
Probably poltpropylene. Which will melt in a pan.
Plastics are melted to get them into the shape of a spatula or a chopping board for example, and the type of plastic will determine the temperature required to melt it.
Nice little starter kit I’d say. Something you could develop if you don’t already have your own cook kit sorted. Thanks for the video Andy. Paul.

Dapper little kit Andy, but, a bit expensive i think, probably due to that lovely case.
Fab kit, been using mine for a while, have added bits to it as well, 👌
I've added an openil knife, small wooden spatula, wooden knife and fork, mustard and ketchup sachets, and a few of the expanding wipes when put in water 😁👌
nice additions mate.. especially the ketchup! ;) haha
That is a very nifty little kit. But I'm trying to decide if it's expensive, at $50 US. Thanks for the info Andy. Cheers!

Could the pen be for labelling the spices?
A good price and a good piece of kit it's not to big just the right size for camping for beginners .
Good looking set, and of course, could be tailored once the spices are used etc. Good to see these kind of people getting some recognition as well 👍

14 items that cost pennies a unit out of China and a case. That's a whopping profit margin.
Not worth 30 quid though but nice....
