In American cars, I agree. We made a bulletproof Ameri-Barra 4.2 that made power NA or turbo and started off NA at 275hp already which is MAD impressive. If American's could make a V6's worth a damn that could be as great as a V8 as some of these Japanese V6's, maybe we wouldn't rag on them as hard
I think the RT is for guy who is slightly into cars. $250 a month cheaper, and that's not including the slight savings on gas with 89 vs 93. Throw an exhaust on it maybe some wheels and call it a day. Looks nice, sounds nice, enough power to get you where you wanna go on the road.
I am currently struggling with 3 herniated discs and can not work on my car. Thanks for posting videos frequently here. It's nice having you talk about car stuff here with us.
I feel for ya fam , I have a compound fractured spin , so I deff understand the struggle .. 💯, hopefully ya can get back to wrenching soon, fam , peace and love brotha
@mastercricket7626 Oh man, I hope you get a recovery from it. Spinal injuries are extremely painful and stressful. Much love and be careful and take care of your spine even more now. I'll probably need a spinal fusion, but take care, man. 🙏🏽💯
I don't think ALL V6 are pointless. MOST are DEFINANTLY pointless (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger) ATS-V is surprisingly good, and well built engine. now Inline 6's are pretty much the exact opposite. Most are pretty amazing.
Inline engines are undeniably the top dons .. the atlas 4200 can easily make over 4 digits and is naturally balanced from primary and secondary . Hell, the k24 can make over 4 digits built, right ... and way higher rpm range .. most pushrod engins are 'well older' ones are only like 4-5k rpm . Some newer can see up to 7k , but take honda or mazda . They have engines that can turn 10-12k rpms .. with the right gearing and such and with how much lighter they are .. they are were its at my brotha .. props fam .. peace and love brotha, keep it rad, stay safe, and build on..l8r famz and keep having fun
@@mastercricket7626 yea some 4 cylinders can make good power like that built, but they never seem to survive very long. I've seen enough Honda's blow up going down the track, where as my (and others) 800hp Supra can do this all day every day and have very little to worry about.
@@mastercricket7626 How long has your k24a survived at 700hp? 700hp is NOT an all day every day build on a stock K24a "We Make 700HP on a STOCK K20! But..." lots of examples like this. 700hp is absolutely a danger zone on a k24a and it just a hero run engine. Everyone in the Honda community (Which I am a part of) will say 400-500 is the upper limits of reliable on a k24a. Its the same as me if I were to say a stock B58 CAN DO 1200hp stock engine. Have they done it, Yes. Will it last long, No.
@SrtRacerBoy they have made over 800 on stock k24 , 700 is the safe point .. and it's all over the internet. Educate yourself (dont mean that as an insult).. and btw I am not at all a honda person, I just know what they are capable of , and up until the last decade, there was not a pushrod engine out that can make that stock .. dohc made that world open up and along side way more rpm ... Personally, an inline 6 is the way to go as im a fan of the Atlas 4200 .. but I give credit where it is due ... and the newer ohc engines are very capable , but will never be as reliable as an inline engine .. natural primary and secondary balance makes a world of difference .. and then ya come down to gearing and such ... so again, I am just giving credit where it is due .. peace and love, brotha, keep it rad, stay safe, and build on.. ps My whole point in my OC was to clear the air. everyone has their pic of what they like , but that does not deny the capabilities of other engines , like 5 cyls or w style engines or flat engines .. they are all capable of their own ordeal, but to just say you will never see a out of what b can do , that's kinda ignorant tbh .. you can search stuff online on most phones nowadays, and a simple click can prove that, depending on the build, use, style , orientation, rpm range. any engine (well the well engineered ones atleast lol)can be capable of making almost any numbers , but as you said , reliability is deff a factor for most , so to each their own and ever build has a different purpose therein built differently and are capable of sometimes dull numbers and sometimes crazy numbers .... 🤘🏽🤙🏽✌🏽
Talking about Mustangs... Mechanically, the suspension, rear end, transmission, and cooling system are the same between the V6/V8 cars. The 2011+ V6's even come with 31-spline rear ends (like the V8's). They do NOT have different body lines. They have different front/rear fascia and hood, but generally speaking they "look the same". The 3.7 started in 2011, and went through 2016 (or maybe 2017). They're faster (N/A) than a stock 4.6. So that makes them faster than your car was when it was stock. You really shouldn't throw shade at V6 guys (especially the 2011+ cars). With boost, they're faster than the N/A V8 cars. I will agree that there is NOTHING you can do to make them sound like V8's, but at the same time, mod-motor V8's sound like crap anyway, so... BTW, I have a 2012 V6/auto Mustang that was swapped to a 427cid Windsor/Tremec 6-spd, so I think I'm perfectly qualified to make the above statements.
I have a 14 3.7L too. People throw shade at 6 because they never took a look at the 11-17 engines. They are great, strong, handle boost well, and like you said, are faster, stock for stock, than the 4.6. Wish people looked harder into these engines before ripping on them
@@jsimmonstx totally my argument too. At the time, it was get an upgraded V6 that's newer... Or get a old V8 that was slower.. or buy a 20+ thousand dollar car
Its also true that import cars, both Euro and Japan don't have this issue as much. It does happen, like a non turbo 2JZ, a B48 vs B58, Audi S5 vs Audi A5, GTi vs Golf R. EJ255 vs EJ257 But its not as common. The GTi is just a turbo swap and some bolt ons from matching the Golf R. Same goes for the base WRX and the STi. The B48 vs B58 is like comparing a V6 to a V8. I saw B48 guys getting excited at running 350 whp with their downpipe , intake, e30 tune one stage 2 and us B58 guys are like, "that's what we make stock lol" hell, a stock M340 makes more than that. Obviously we could compare it the actual M cars but even that example isn't as extreme. B58 vs S55 is a raging battle, technically the F8x motor, the S55 is better. Makes over 400 whp stock, makes more power mod for mod, etc. But its alot more expensive to modify and maintain. If you race a stock F80 M3 and a stock M340 or 340i M Performance Package, They're all within half a second of each other. Again, not really an extreme difference. Same with Japanese. Q50/Q60 RS400 vs base model Q50/Q60. RS400 destroys stock, but the engines are identical except for the cooling system. You can even get sport suspension and akebono sport brakes on a base model from factory. If tuned them both with the same mods, they are identical. TLDR, If you want cheap performance, buy import. Get a Q50 base model or 335i/340i. Tune it and do some bolt ons. Roast modded V8s. If they beat you, get a bigger turbo
I've owned two V8's, two 4 cylinders, and one V6. Out of all them I miss the Scion TC, it was boosted, quick, and very reliable. I also miss my Trailblazer SS 6.0L, that one was very fast but expensive to maintain. Nowadays I just have a 1st gen Nissan Xterra V6, that I use as my daily, and weekend overlanding adventures. It's my first V6, but it's not fast at all. It's strictly made to offroad, wish I got the supercharged model instead of the base.
I bought my 3.7 mustang because i wanted a fun daily driver thats not that bad on gas, im not like some elitist car guy that goes to every show trying to race everyone. ive dailied an SRT8 for awhile and it was so bad on gas. I dont got time to go to meets anyways so IDC about that 😂
I have a s550 mustang v6. My second car and I’m 17… I had roughly 15k to spend and I wanted a mustang. It really came down to a newer v6 or 2010 gt. Newer v6 had less then 80k miles and all the gts I found were a minimum of 100k miles. Also both had 300 hp. S550s also handle better. So ultimately it came down to sound of v8 for lack of luxury or newer car less miles but a v6. So that’s my reasoning. Eventually I will own a 5.0 but my car has really got me into cars. And for it being a daily driver I still have a lot of fun driving a v6.
Also bought a v6 (mustang premium 2014), never been happier than crash that shit. I was litteraly like u said crying about that I didnt get a V8. Got all the money back and even more than I paid for it. Even got the plastic protective film with the taxes reimbursed (was more than 1500$). Bought a Gen 2 Coyote 2017 Mustang with 6500 miles (very low) for 25k and Im happy!
I think the ecoboost mustang is really the only exception to thinking all base model engine muscle cars are bad. There’s not a single other car on the market that comes boosted from factory with an LSD, manual transmission, rwd, and excellent handling dynamics for $30k. I just think of them more as domestic tuners rather than muscle cars.
I enjoyed my 2015 camaro v6 🥸 I wanted to get a little taste of the interior, the confort ( because american muscle cars before 2015 don't compare to german cars in term of interiors really ), the general feeling etc. without investing in a v8. Saw i didn't care about the confort and just enjoyed to go vroom vroom and got an ss. But still i have good memories with it.
I will say, i do agree to an extent that V6 and the I4 muscle cars are pointless. But i also think they fall short majorly because they are the victim of the owners like the VQ platforms are and the Miatas and so on. They arent a bad starting car, especially for people who dont live in the states where the V8 version is alot more expensive. And i do see the V6's and I4's becoming more popular entry level tuners down the line when the emissions are even more strict. I wouldnt be surprised if the Ecoboost Mustang and the 2.0 Supra (not a muscle car but you get my point) becomes the popular starting cars. Overall, V6 and I4 muscle cars in itself arent terrible, it's just the fact you know the V8's always there and is ultimately better
Honelty v6 and i4 muscle cars are useless. If you want a cool v6 or i4 there are looads of cool v6 cars and i4 cars... but muscle cars? If you buy a muscle car its for the huge V8, the sound, not for v6 and i4s that are commonly in other cars
And aswell it isnt even like price matters for them, v8 mustangs, v6 mustangs, and ecoboost mustangs are all similar prices the only other reason is for insurance but if you cant afford insurance for a v8 mustang then dont get a v8 mustang
People also gotta realize that without the V6 the V8 probably wouldn’t exist anymore the sales wouldn’t be as good because the average person is getting the V6 if your someone that’s not a “Car person as much or you just want something more affordable that more so applies to getting a dodge charger , but I can see how any V6 2 door that’s pointless like mustangs Camaros etc
It's true, don't settle, my second car I bought was a V6 Camaro and I sold that car within six months because I just had the v8 gnawing at me, buy once cry once is right.
I got my Thundrrbird with a V6, and I actually laughed when one person I knew was impressed. Only reason I bought it with a V6 was because the total amount of 98-93 Thunderbirds for sale was(drum roll please) one. Luckily I have no issues waiting to buy and install a V8, or else I wouldn't have bought it likely. All that said I only find V6 owners worth laughing at if they either act like others should look at it as anything other than a project to complete in time, or they demand I respect it for some arbitrary reason they decided makes up for the lack of engine(especially seeing as I don't even overly respect my own in it's current state).
The 5.7 is able to handle extreme boost after a bottom end upgrade allowing them to push demon power reliably and also more of them come in manual options with the t56 and i think the 5.7 versions of challengers are lighter chassis might be wrong about that know of several where i live that push well over 1000 without issue
I own a 2019 Charger RT and I love it. Throw on some sticky fat tires (I run 315 Michelins) and it’s a blast to drive. And the nice thing is that it’s pretty good on MPG despite being a boat with a V8. And I feel much safer on the road in a charger compared to a Camaro or Mustang. Can an R/T make 1000hp? Probably, but definitely not with stock internals. However, I’ve seen RT guys run 12lbs of boost reliably on stock internals with respectable power numbers. Yeah, every R/T owner wishes they had a scat or a cat, but the R/T scratches that itch for a guy just getting into the car scene like I did when I bought mine. And the nice thing is, it’s still a V8 with tons of potential!
Honestly I got way more compliments on my 2013 V6 Mustang I had than I did on any of my V8’s and I’ve owned a 5.0, scat and Camaros. V6 are basically more enjoyable economy cars imo. More fun that a civic, obviously not performance cars though. Nobody truly cares if it’s a V6 or V8 unless you’re going to car meets… The worst is modifying a v6/base car to try and make it something it’s not. Keeping it stock is the way to go if someone really wants the base muscle car. Spending thousands to mod a v6 literally puts you in the same price bracket as the base v8 usually.
I completely agree with Drew on all of this I wanted a 5.0 couldn’t got a eco boost just to daily drive and save for the next car so now imma pay it off sell it get a LS3 corvette payed off because in the middle of wanting a 5.0 I got a base C6 and I liked it so now im looking to upgrade C6 I basically got the eco boost just to daily drive and save up for the next car I actually want well building up my credit score for more options well keep preaching Drew im a day 1 viewer and subscribed since day 1 got another cali guy spreading the right way not the junk we see
RIP Brett Hill- coined the “no replacement for displacement” and former friend and coworker to answer the Dodge question, 5.7s blow up. they’re weak. 392 are bad with boost due to their compression ratio. Dodge makes cars to go off the lot not modify. the SRT8 6.1 was made to modify, and no one did, that’s why they switched it to the 392
@@Swrvv1n this is true on top of the gas and insurance, this dude is speaking like an elitist, guy needs to consider not everyone came up with mommy and daddy who bought their first cars and payed their rent for them, of course everyone would love a v8.
Nah, I’d take an old 2 valve V8 for cheap over a v6 or 4 cylinder. That’s coming from someone who owned a 98’ Lumina as my first car, ($1,200), then sold that and went to a 2000 Impala V6, then to a 2003 Miata, then to a 2000 Mustang GT, and then now to my current car a 2019 Ford Mustang GT Premium. In comparison to the price I paid for that Miata, it was the exact same price for that old 2000 Mustang but waaaay more fun in the Mustang. I don’t think your first car needs to be a muscle car, but he’s speaking to people who want entry level into Sports Cars or enthusiasts.
I only paid $5,300 for that Miata including dealer fees, ended up selling it for $6,000 about 30k miles later and bought that Mustang for $6k private seller. So it’s not like you need a ton of money for a V8 either.
@@WildCatLyfe where I live ppl want 10k easy for a 150k new edge not even a super desirable year but I mean those couple will pop up for a reasonable price but even then in a gt I’d be quoated at 5k a year in insurance no tickets so is it worth it rn
Ok? that doesn't mean you should obtain V8 at that age anyway especially with insurance that will screw your @ss. I didn't even get my dream car until a few years but I was constantly saving money anyway, and I drove a 01 camry lol. The car market is already fked as it is, you can't do anything other then buy it now while its still "affordable" or just move on and just not get into cars because even if you do buy the car, you still have to throw money at it regardless. Its an expensive hobby. Also regarding Drew, the dud already explained it many and MANY times. Ofc, he had a V6, that's why he's telling you to not buy V6 so you don't make the same mistake he did...I thought it was this obvious but its crazy that some of you guys can't wrap your head around...
i love destroying v8s at the track in my high boost ecoboost, i may not be able to beat V8s in the drag strip but around the corner you will only see my taillights
Honestly I’m kinda tired of the constant V6 hate , I get it if you’re being a ricer or acting like it’s a V8 then it’s well deserved, but for me I currently have a V6 dodge charger I mainly got it for the Awd for winters and wanting to have decent gas mileage/ cheaper insurance , I do have the itch to get a V8 but this car has been a great fun daily driver it’s fully loaded otherwise and I recently became a dad a few months back so it’s kinda become my daily / Dad car , but I don’t think it’s pointless because it gives people a chance to get something that looks the exact same but is more affordable, I don’t know what car I’m gonna get next but I’m happy with what I have right now
In my personal experience, Jaguars are the only car brand I’ve seen where people don’t negatively react to you buying a model fitted with a V6 when a V8 was offered for the same model.
This is the one we all needed!!!! Ever notice how the dudes that be posting and bragging on their cars the most all have v6 Stangs, Camaros, and Chargers/Challengers😅 It's truly an epidemic. So much bragging and yet I never see a single 0-60 vid from a V6 muscle car dude. Sure I don't have a muscle car, but I got a 4 banger engine swapped and supercharged MR2 and a V8 Silverado.. they've both had engines swapped/changed by myself and they aren't expensive vehicles but I'd rather own both of those than spend more than them both combined on a charger SXT🤮
As a mopar guy, the 5.7 hemi is a great option over the v6, 1 cause its a v8, 2, the low end torque is fun for daily driving, but the mileage is not horrible, and its at a decent spot where its not terribly slow, the insurance isn't atrocious, and its still a viable platform to build on.
The only things V6 has over V8 is that it is good for beginners who are new to driving RWD cars, they're cheaper to maintain, AND if you think about it, the Ecoboost and V6 Muscle cars of today are about as potent as V8s of the past. A V6 Camaro RS makes like 323 hp. A catfish Camaro from the early 2000s made like 305 and the Z28 made 330. The Ecoboost Stang makes like 320 hp and 318 lb ft. The 2v and 3v 4.6l V8 made like 260 hp - 305 hp. So if you were satisfied with the feel of your old V8s but can't afford a new one, these V6 and Ecoboost cars are pretty much on par with old V8s. Maintenance is much cheaper, no brembos, cheaper gas, less parts, less cylinders. If you're a new driver or new to muscle, they're also good for that. As far as Dodge, the 5.7 is the floor for me. The 392 is faster but if you actually plan to mod, the 5.7 is better for a few reasons. For starters, cheaper price to enter. You can get an RT for under 15k, scats are over 24k minimum. The 5.7 is good with boost and its basically a restricted 392 with less displacement. All you need to wake a 5.7 up is to get the intake manifold of a 392, CAI, headers, and a tune. That will get you within a few feet of a stock 392. The 392 will beat you stock, but that's displacement. Here's where it'll get fun. If you put some cams in it, change out the rear diff for a SRT diff, and then tune it again, now you'll be beating a stock 392. You'll be almost at 500 whp NA. A full bolt on 392 MIGHT beat you. He needs a cam to beat you. Now here's where it gets crazy. If you do decide to boost this build after all that, you'll be killing hellcats. Even tune only ones, that cam is doing work. You can't do that on a 392, they have weak piston rings. It can do boost, but it won't be able to push as hard as the 5.7 can with boost. If you wanna play in a muscle car you SHOULD ideally get a V8. Get a Coyote, get an LS2, get a 5.7/392. Only go with the V6 if you intend to trade up and just wanna practice on the chasis of the car or save money. I saw a guy fbo and procharge his V6 Challenger and he STILL lost to a stock 392.
@drewpeacock my reasoning for getting a V6 Stang would be to practice driving manual in a slower rwd coupe. The reason I’d rather get that is because I think I’d off myself pretty quickly in a V8. However, I’ve never driven either of them. What would your recommendation be?
C1 vette came in with an I6 so still technically a V6 just in a different pattern and they had a V8 option then. Do your research before you try and correct someone
@@grimplayz7565”an I6 is technically a v6 just in a different pattern” That is just plain wrong, just say it’s a 6 cylinder if that’s what you want to say.
@@Gengargamer2_ My fault that I don’t truly know the difference between 2 engines I would never put into a corvette. Also 2 notoriously shitty engines for any sports car
a stock scat motor throws rods with boost so you have to build the internals, the rt can handle slightly more boost cuz of the internals, both have a solid block
Drew brother they all do look the same lol. A 5.0 and eco can have the SAME exact Interior and you can get quad tips on an eco. There is no difference in appearance besides badges essentially.
It’s a no brainer yes everyone would love to have a v8 I think you got to consider people might like the look of a car and not necessarily be able to daily a v8 especially in Cali your still spending around 50$ every 3 days at best
I used to own a 2014 v6 while I would prefer a 5.0 I do disagree with the idea of not buying a v6 muscle car I think it’s a very good platform for entry level sports cars I currently own a turbo b series Honda civic and never looked back on American v8s far more reliable then any American v8
Instead of buying a V6 muscle car, get a GM 3800, 2GR, Honda J series. All reliable and can handle boost, especially the 3800. I don’t like the argument that V8 is always better, it comes down to what car you have and what you want out of it. If you have a base muscle car it’ll always be compared to the V8 and looked down on, so it helps to get something without a comparable V8 model if you care what people think.
Dream cars can be very affordable. Just landed my 2011 GT500 for $30k. AND THAT'S What they're going for on the market. 5 years from now might be a different story though. So, buy now! I'm not gonna read out the brochure cause I'm sure everyone knows the output numbers but if I just put a few grand from VMP Performance under the hood, I'll be up there with the 13/14 GT500's. But first I need new rubber to put it down before all that happens. The original owner drove it daily and has All Seasons (Washington) Not gonna happen under my ownership. And thankfully the Carfax says he was very meticulous with maintenance. Happy owner here.
The only premium car I’d say is worth buying is the GR Corolla premium. You get the LSD and big brakes which really change up how the car functions . But I do see your point drew.
Also, I don’t think that V6s are pointless. It all depends on what you want to use that car for. If you’re going to daily drive it or put it in in a motorsport that doesn’t require a lot of horsepower then sure you can get a V6. They didn’t just use mustangs, Camaros and any other pony car for just the dragstrip. They were plenty of other motorsports that require handling that they actively participated in. Pony cars were designed with that in mind. A V-8 is not a complete necessity if you are to be a car guy.
Have to disagree on the V8 daily driver. My daily is a a10 2019 Ford Mustang GT Premium and I love driving it everyday! I’m in Phoenix and the weather permits me to all year, my drive to work is about 45 minutes and it’s 90% highway so I get to enjoy going 75+. Granted my car isn’t modified. I don’t plan on modding until the car payments are done. But I’m enjoying and loving the car. If this was city driving daily for a short commute, in a manual, I could see why the V8 wouldn’t be good. But I don’t get people that don’t drive their cars. So many have a nice sports car only for it to sit and look pretty.
Truth hurts that’s just the reality of it. I’ve owned less trims models of high performance cars before and I know it’s tempting but hold the mods and save your money for the V8. When I was younger I bought a 2009 Mercedes C350 and I really wanted the C63 I knew I would never see any return in value if I modified a c350 and that’s exactly what I didn’t do. I enjoyed the car for what it was I saved up for 1 year and half and moved to American muscle now I own a 2010 Camaro SS and I could not be happier with myself. One does not immediately get the car they want in the start but if you’re smart you’ll get the car you want in the future.
I've got a clean 5th gen v6 Camaro, ya its v8 sibling is better, but I love my car, and if you guys are all about horsepower, how come no one mentions that newer v6 muscle cars almost always have more HP than the older v8 versions stock for stock?
listen i saw a comment about anime wraps i just want y'all to know it should be on cars just no henti also its not rice to wrap ur cars and stickers not rice ether unless there race stickers
I was about to make the same comment, the 1953-54 Corvette was only available with the inline 6 "Blue Flame". In 1955 the Blue Flame was standard but a small V8 was an option, I don't recall what size it was.
Eh, you kinda do gotta get the STI for the 2.5 turbo for the same reasons you mentioned.. no replacement for displacement. +0.1l and runs ~70hp more stock. If you want to drive spirited, even not on track, you will miss the it.
I have a 2003 chevy monte carlo ss it comes factory with a 3.8l v6 if i waited to buy a monte carlo i wouldve gotten a 06 or 07 monte carlo ss for the v8, i kind of regret my purchase but i can still have fun with it, after this engine give out on me i am gonna LS4 swap it for the power gains, ive seen a few videos where other people have done it and it looks pretty simple, considering i did go to trade school for automotive
So barring the 3.6(out resident V6), we have the 5.7, the 6.4, the 6.1 srt8(replaced by the 6.4), and the supercharged 6.2. the 5.7 is just a smaller 6.2 and it handles boost the same way a hellcat engine does, I've seen stock internals hold 650-700ish with forced induction. Obvy you should upgrade the transmission but it's easy to build a 5.7. the 6.1 engines are brittle and the 6.4 engines are soft, that's the best way I can describe it, ones made of ice and the other wax and need to be fully built to handle much boost. It's also the OG engine size from the gen 5 which was the start of their modern series or chargers and challengers and it had a legacy. Hopefully that helps a bit
Not everybody can afford the V8. Buy and drive what you can afford. This guy is rich and out of touch with society. I drove V6 and I4 for 25 years until I could afford a V8.
I think the 5.7 hemi is a much better entry level muscle car then any v6 you could pick, so many kids could save 20gs in loans in they got a 5.7 instead of a brand new v6 mustang/challenger
Good for her man, glade to see she didn’t get ride of the mustang. Granted my personal opinion on the S650 is not like everyone’s but it’s a mustang and she’s enjoying it and that’s all the matters. I will say however the 3v is definitely not beating an eco boost lol 😂. Eco boost manual might have a chance against it, but eco boost A10 no way. I’ve got a gen 2 coyote 5.0 manual of course, can’t stand the automatic Ed even if they are “faster”, and a 2007 3v mustang GT manual, love both cars, the 5.0 is my baby though and my 3v is more or less like owning a chihuahua, all bark no bite, acts aggressive especially with the locked cams but definitely can’t do anything about it lol 😂. My 5.0 would absolutely demolish my 3v. Yea different tech, definitely different hardware, and different times my 5.0 should be the faster car anyways. 🤷♂️ if it wasn’t there would be a huge issue. That being said you could always buy a cheap V6 car and V8 swap it if I can’t find exactly what your looking for in the V8 spec. The great part about that is you can choose whatever V8 you decide to put into said car and you can make modifications that you prefer to the car while the engine is out which is something that makes a swap so much more appealing especially in the long term of things. Personally if your the type of car guy that buys a V6 and thinks it’s the hottest shit on the market then well there’s no other word for it, your a poser. 🤷♂️ Had one dude show up to “Mexico” with a v6 claiming it was faster than the GTs out there. My s550 was stock at the time and well you can guess what happened. Guy went home in embarrassment, talked a big game and got left behind on your basic 40 roll. Dude definitely got humbled. I don’t say that to brag but it’s just one of those issues plaguing the car community today and personally I try not to hold it against the people who can’t afford the V8 and choose to stick it out with the V6, but still it’s gotta stop. 🤷♂️
So my dad has a 5.7 m6 challenger and it’s fun to drive it’s comfortable and it sounds good. So I think the reasoning for the 5.7 is for the people that want the v8 want the higher insurance premium want the increase of tax but they don’t want a crazy fast car so can row the gears and only 70 in 3rd gear. Idk the 5.7 is super slow doesn’t turn for shit. Now these motors are better for building than a scat pack. Because the scat pack is just a bored and stroked 5.7 and so the engine block is just weaker and so the scat pack can’t handle as much boost as a 5.7 unless you want to spend 40k into making the scat be able to handle boost and at that point you could’ve gotten a built hellcat at that point and make close to the power as that scat. But you have a hellcat and hellcats are just better and cooler in general so my take is hellcat or higher
I'm seriously considering picking up a Mustang GT as a daily driver to keep the miles low and the drive exciting on my Corvette. No way in hell will I get a V6 mustang. I will happily pay more at the pump if it means having more fun. A V8 gets way more smiles per gallon than a V6.
Sir, I will not stand for this 5.7 slander. The 5.7 RT hemi is superior to the scat pack up until 2018 where Dodge released the BGE block for the scat pack. Also, the RT came in all wheel drive and if you want people to leave you the fuck alone or get out your way you can get the police interceptor which is also most likely all-wheel-drive. Also the 6.1 hemi is also a nice middle ground from the old SRT.

Reject inline 6 return to single cylinder
In American cars, I agree. We made a bulletproof Ameri-Barra 4.2 that made power NA or turbo and started off NA at 275hp already which is MAD impressive.
If American's could make a V6's worth a damn that could be as great as a V8 as some of these Japanese V6's, maybe we wouldn't rag on them as hard

Heavy cars need a lot of power. A V6 can work for light 370Zs or NSXs, but for something like Charger or Mustang, they need that V8.

Drew was wrong on Corvette only ever having V8s. The very first Vette was a Straight 6 I believe....
Then they updated it with a V8 as the car wasn't selling.
^Also, who is watching this and thinking about buying the first gen corvette?😂
I don't think ALL V6 are pointless. MOST are DEFINANTLY pointless (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger)
ATS-V is surprisingly good, and well built engine.
now Inline 6's are pretty much the exact opposite.
@SrtRacerBoy dude you are nuts , a k24 can hold 700hp all day stock internals
@@mastercricket7626
How long has your k24a survived at 700hp?
700hp is NOT an all day every day build on a stock K24a
"We Make 700HP on a STOCK K20! But..."
lots of examples like this.
Stfu with this hilarious cope. No one likes your shitty fake sportscar v6 and no one cares about boosting a shitty v6. Jeezus
Or get a old V8 that was slower.. or buy a 20+ thousand dollar car
guys i got my license today. very proud.
Its also true that import cars, both Euro and Japan don't have this issue as much.
It does happen, like a non turbo 2JZ, a B48 vs B58, Audi S5 vs Audi A5, GTi vs Golf R. EJ255 vs EJ257
But its not as common.
If you race a stock F80 M3 and a stock M340 or 340i M Performance Package,
They're all within half a second of each other.
TLDR,
If you want cheap performance, buy import.

4:09 ecoboost may be faster but nothing will ever come close to the glorious symphony of the 3v mustang
Yeah same I had a v6 2013 Camaro and I got it for the same reasons but I eventually sold it planning on getting a q60 or a Audi s5 soon
I have a V6 2014 Mustang and I love it. Like you, I’ll get the 8 eventually but these 3.7L have some good power for the first Mustang I’ve ever owned
If it weren’t called a mustang people would love it. Same goes for the Mach E lol. Pretty cool car….just don’t call it a pony car 🤣

Having a pushrod v6 isn’t so bad it’s slow but hey it’s mines
Drew you gotta collab atleast once with CCF, you would be an absolute menace on cars against humanity. 💀
I miss the old airsoft content need it back!

Honestly I got way more compliments on my 2013 V6 Mustang I had than I did on any of my V8’s and I’ve owned a 5.0, scat and Camaros. V6 are basically more enjoyable economy cars imo. More fun that a civic, obviously not performance cars though.
Nobody truly cares if it’s a V6 or V8 unless you’re going to car meets…
The worst is modifying a v6/base car to try and make it something it’s not. Keeping it stock is the way to go if someone really wants the base muscle car. Spending thousands to mod a v6 literally puts you in the same price bracket as the base v8 usually.

I only paid $5,300 for that Miata including dealer fees, ended up selling it for $6,000 about 30k miles later and bought that Mustang for $6k private seller. So it’s not like you need a ton of money for a V8 either.

Never owned a V6. Had an in-line 4, an opposed 4 and 6 V8s. I get 27 on the highway with 2 of them. (Love 6speeds) V8s have the right sound.
Bro i drove a 2024 mustang gt 10 speed and a scat and i am not gonna lie scats are so much fun i ain’t hating on mustangs and camaro but scats are fun

Wow that wrap looks like a whole different color in this lighting
I didn’t know bro was built like a politician till this video
Damn bro that hurts i own a ecoboost 😢
A Z06 owner gave me grief at a gas station because I drive a base 6-speed C5. I’ve heard this also happens at some meets. Have you seen this?
I've got a clean 5th gen v6 Camaro, ya its v8 sibling is better, but I love my car, and if you guys are all about horsepower, how come no one mentions that newer v6 muscle cars almost always have more HP than the older v8 versions stock for stock?
But I'll admit, v8s are better 👍
listen i saw a comment about anime wraps i just want y'all to know it should be on cars just no henti also its not rice to wrap ur cars and stickers not rice ether unless there race stickers
Anime is super gaeee
The Corvette was originally an inline 6
Yeah in 1920 lol only losers like their own comments BTW. I know your new to life
I was looking for this comment
Dude stfu no a 5.7 can not reliably handle boost. Has to have a lot of money put in it etc just stop coping lmao
This was one of the most based videos you have ever put out.
Not everybody can afford the V8. Buy and drive what you can afford. This guy is rich and out of touch with society. I drove V6 and I4 for 25 years until I could afford a V8.
It's pretty cool dude can walk around in his garage and ramble about cars and make money. Doin something right!
Drew needs to let Mami pick some rims to throw on. I know she riding on non stocks rn but she needs some freshies that she picks out hahaha
Are 4 bangers like the gti and Sti pointless ?
Back at it again w wreck it Ralph
I think the 5.7 hemi is a much better entry level muscle car then any v6 you could pick, so many kids could save 20gs in loans in they got a 5.7 instead of a brand new v6 mustang/challenger
i mean there was the shelby terlingua which was a suercharged v6 mustang, and the only reason i remember this car is need for speed
Had one dude show up to “Mexico” with a v6 claiming it was faster than the GTs out there.
I saw the title and immediately had to click on it!
700 hp is fast just not in a 4500 lb car
@@Boi6515_ u never drove over 500hp i can tell by ur comment
@limitless2352 I have a 650 whp foxbody
@@Boi6515_ still getting gapped by me so stop spreading hate bro bcz no matter how fast u become there will be always a bigger fish
@@limitless2352 bro what are you going on about lol
@@limitless2352 also what do you drive lol
Real (I owned an eco boost before I got my GT)
I'm seriously considering picking up a Mustang GT as a daily driver to keep the miles low and the drive exciting on my Corvette. No way in hell will I get a V6 mustang. I will happily pay more at the pump if it means having more fun. A V8 gets way more smiles per gallon than a V6.
I’ve had a v6 before I really knew and got about cars different trim levels and packages 😂😂 I’ll always hate on a v6 cause it’s utterly pointless
I fw this heavy
Rosie o Donald swag ; but got the infor on muscle cars. Respect it
I've seen a fast R/T the other day he was making 900whp at this local car meet I was at so they're out there the 5.7 is a slept on motor tbh
No you didnt. 5.7s cant handle boost
I like my little 3.7 stang.
