  • Ep 15 - Jenjarom, Kuala Langat (finale)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
The trip to Jenjarom was a last minute decision.
I had totally forgotten about this place until it was mentioend that I had visited this place in the late 70s.
I wanted to see how much Jenjarom has changed, except, I couldn't remember what it looked like back then :)
Along the way, you'd see plentiful of Oil Palm plantations, a vital cash crop in this region.
This will be my last and final episode for this series to be released last day of 2022, and to usher in a Happy New Year 2023.
    Enjoy.

I'm glad you find this useful, it is but a snapshot of Malaysia, but hopefully the food alone would be a good enough reminder for the old and spark curiosity for the new visitors.
Thanks for watching and may you have great year of the Rabbit too. Xin Nian Kwai Le.

@@ODOB Oh dear, no pressure :) I'm planning a 2week ride at the end of March. I did this last year around Suffolk / Norfolk on an old mountain bike, but given the terrain (fields / swamps) that Google Maps took me down I'd not risk it on the Brompton. I need somewhere warmer and drier.

As a Malaysian, I welcome you to my country. I hope you enjoy the atmosphere, food, culture and hospitality of Malaysians while you are here. I pray that your journey back will go smoothly and that you will arrive safely at your destination. And I am very excited about your enthusiasm for cycling such a long distance. As a Malaysian myself, I have never done it. Thank you for sharing your journey. I'm a new friend here. Greetings from Singapore.👍🔔

      ...soooon.
I am planning a local trip from Hastings to Rye soon.
Weather is getting warm now, so it's high time to bring out the bike...may be a warm up cycle to worthing first. Watch this space :)

@@ODOB I look forward to it, please video. I'm back on my bike as well. My cheap mountain bike has some issues, I think with a creaking bottom bracket, but it's really not worth fixing so I am looking more towards the Brompton. Got a back pack that I hope fits, as well as two mini-panniers recommended by this guy ua-cam.com/video/d2WVKl1VGhs/v-deo.html (but I've not tried them on yet to test heel strike)

@@wayneriley7557 Isn't it amazing, how different people have come up with different ideas for rear bag/s, this is one I haven't seen before. On my travels, I have found that it becomes challenging once you have more than 2 bags, say when you are boarding the bus, or the train, I will sling the rear ruck sack (my preferred choice) over my shoulders, right hand carrying or pushing the bike, whilst left hand carrying the C bag. So far that worked for me...but always good see other systems. Cheers.

@@ODOB The small panniers arrived, and I tested one out this morning - no heel strike at all (I am 6ft, but only 10.5 size shoe). I have more trouble with my shoe getting stuck in the rack wheel. Now, just have to lose about 20kg from my own weight before I can add any gear to the bike as I am already at the official weight limit :(
