Having now completed the usual sightseeing around Penang, it was time to get going with the round island cycling adventure.
I knew the terrain on the east coast side of Penang would be pretty easy as it is mostly flat, but the west coast would be tough going (for an old dude) with unrelenting hills stretching miles into the tropical forest of the west coast.
The cycle path on the east coast is really scenic, with picturesque coastline, enough to keep things interesting and before you know it, you are at the southend of Penang.
All in all by the time I reached the township of Balik Pulau, I had completed ~20 miles, but decided to continue with the climb in the next video.
