The red conversation option for pacifists makes me laugh every time
_"You will be our friends whether you want to or not"_
We will show them our peaceful ways... By force!
Literally the Tau
steven universe in space
My democratic pacifist nation of stone dragons has done this once. See, our neighbors were plant fascists and the sluglord crown. Both naturally tried time and again to annex our world, for we were placed at the only pathway to a fifth of the galaxy.
Alongside another militant kingdom, many a rebel faction and primitive species had to rapidly develop technology (often funded by us) to flee what would otherwise be slavery or genocide, and we welcomed them with open arms.
When the Great Robot Intelligence with which we have a defensive pact with to decided to punch and forcefully assimilate the fascists, we wound up invading the sluglord kingdom, and deposed their king. While regretful at the damage and loss of life, we soon wrote a federational agreement to ally with, support, and rebuild the slugs as a democratic nation.
Though there is concern over the power of the Great Intelligence, we have forseen greater dangers in the next century, and will devote ourselves to building up our nation to weather and protect the diversity of the galaxy, as has been foretold by the Holy Guardians.

FRIENDSHIP IS MANDATORY
We lost literally everything, but we have the moral high ground.
This is why Ghandi kept nukes
His Hidden agenda is nuke happy afterall lol
If we all get nuked, we will all be the same

Words backed by nuclear weapons are best words

AA : Don't mind the icons, it's too complicated for anyone to understand
Me who has gone over 150 years into the game and owned a third of a galaxy : Correct, do not try, only hope.
Im 700 hours deep into the game and its starting to make sense!
And yet Stellaris is simple and accessible compared to other Paradox games...
I had to take an online course when first getting into EU4.

As if that doesn't happen normally in the real world.

i've been waiting for you to get to stellaris, literally the only game i know of where you can force people (through violence) to accept pacifism.
I say the whole galaxy shall learn of our peaceful ways. B Y F O R C E
Or force peaceful and prosperous societies to give up luxuries like sufficient food and housing and become theocratic enslavers where everyone is desperately unhappy, toiling in the salt mines to flavour your steaks. Because wars of liberation and vassalisation are available to the militarists, too.
Or seize their people to become steaks. Livestock slavery. Paradox.

Paradox guys be like: This dude is doing lots of videos about suffering, torture, war crimes, cannibalism and violence. He is the perfect man to advertise our E-rated game.
In that perspective stellaris can be much, much worse than any other game.
@@dinamosflams
Even rimworld? I mean sure, the SCALE is bigger in stellaris, but in rimworld you can watch a little pawn you've grown attached to get kidnapped, eaten, or cut the organs out of another little pawn-person.
The game has all of those things, but it's abstract, and therefore fine for kids.
Its not like young kids can understand what this game means
Stellaris actually has some pretty messed up concepts if you sit back and read some event material. Including religious sacrifice, forced assimilation, t*rrorism, g*nocide, racism (and xenophobia), and countless events talking about science experiments going horribly, horribly wrong. Honestly its right up his alley when you put it in that perspective 🤣

Ambiguousamphibian is just wowcrendor from a shakespearean parallel universe.
Yes hello fellow amfibian I breath air
I love that you're getting sponsors now, you deserve all the success!
How dare you assume my sentience, AA!
I remember doing a pacifist run once. 200 years of no war acheivement. Not because I was good at being a pacifist, but because my fleet was bigger. Most boring race I played.
I did the same thing once, but ~10 years before I got the achievement the War in Heaven started. I couldn't be bothered to try again
Oof
I tried a couple of pacifist runs but all I keept getting were empire's like fanatic purifiers and the like. The one last I did that was what all but one of 10, which was a hive mind, were either swarm or purifiers.
I just wonder if their is bias in the empire picks or my luck is just bad as I have had many megacorp runs where 8 megacorps and no one else.
Yeah I've been thinking of just setting up a Scion empire on a tiny galaxy to just fast forward to 2400 and get the achievement but it might still take too long haha.
🤔 I have OCPD and the build phase and management phase is always my favourite in these games.
Family building and management for CK, Grand strategic plans and force compositions or army templates for HoI, Colonization and mission completion combined with tag swapping for Eu4.
Don't get me wrong, I like fighting now and then and "sitting down" brash loudmouths, but I probably wouldn't think the situation as boring as many others would
You play as pacifists to be friend of everyone. I play as pacifists to harvest their organs. We are not the same
You play as Pacifists to make peace with everyone. I play as Pacifist to make sure everyone is peaceful. We are not the same.
In this game, as a Pacifist, you can abduct their people.
You can also freedomize your enemies, breaking off a chunk to give to rebels you bankroll. So very American.
But the best trick? Become friends with a militarist, form an alliance, and laugh as he drags your 'defense' fleets into half a dozen wars.
@@JoshSweetvale OMG America would never do this
You play as xenophobic militarists to purge the stars of xenos. I play as xenophobic pacifists to keep xenos off my lawn or else. We are not the same.

There's an episode of M*A*S*H where Radar signs up for a sham literary school and starts using unnecessary adverbs and adjectives constantly. I just realized AA has an uncanny resemblance to the cadence Radar was using in that episode but in AA's case it's relaxing instead of hilarious.
"Alas, alak! The peaceful quietness was detonated by a herd of chopper that was transportising punctured personnel. But our gallant doctors, the miracle medical mortals, are ever ready to treat the sick. The wounded were aided copiously by super-smart surgeons whose knowledge is superseded by nobody I know." --Radar
the correct word for this is "verbose" I, in my most humblest opinion of the greatest minds to ever walk this beautiful Earth , believeth so.
Playing a pacifist has a knack. You need kindness, guile, and planet splitting weaponry.
"There is no shame in deterrence having a weapon is very different from actually using it." -Ghandi before nuking the whole world into oblivion.
Maybe not planet crackers, just put a shield around them, let the people thousandsnof years from now deal with those racists
Those "cute little aliens" as you called them is actually the potrait used by one of the most evil and racist lil factions in the game which can spawn and make your life a living hell xD

The way AA makes videos, turns a 12- 13 minute video into felling like a 30-45 minute video. Truly a talented amphibian.
“We may not have an empire anymore, but we have the moral high ground.” What a quote.

As a Swede I can relate to this video.

Well, we might've lost Finland, Åland, Pommerania, Estonia and finally Norway but damn, when i sit down in my 100% locally sourced beige wool blanket and enjoy a couple of fairtrade vegan bean-paste meatballs after a long day of electric scootering I think that it isn't that bad after all. It's not easy having the moral high ground, the air is pretty thin up here. If only more people were as good as me but, then again, not everyone can be the bestest.

Having played stellaris since they released Utopia I still do not recognize some symbols and all i can say is I have done nothing but play a min max style since nemesis released but this has truly inspired me to become an empire that will "peacefully" appropriate land and resources so that we may achieve true transcendence into a higher plane of pacifism
You know, given the track record of pacifism in Stellaris, I'm surprised that AA didn't start a war to purge the xenos.
You have the best narrative voice, both literally and metaphorically. I'm convinced you can make most any subject sound simultaneously like 5D chess and a soothing story.

Hey AA, have you seen/played Battle Brothers?
I think you'd enjoy it, and it could fit into your content genre fairly well. It's a game where you build a mercenary gang during medieval times. The combat gameplay is turn based with an overworld that's real time. You slowly gain a larger party until you get wiped, it's ironman by default.
I know this isn’t a Kenshi video but I just want to thank you for playing Kenshi, you have got me to start playing it, and I love it

The correct way to use Fanatic Pacifism:
Make allies and goad enemies into attacking you. Bismarck antics.
Ambiguousamphibian: "The book says don't hit back."
Indeed. Pacifists can claim a lot in a defensive war.
Also reforming your gov is a valid option if you absolutely have to attack. It's a government policy, not a suicide pact!

The slight break in your voice at 0:21 already has me balling.
First time I played I went with fanatic pacifists, because i thought I would just get by on diplomacy and trade… I laughed so hard all the way through this, knowing where it would inevitably end. Stellaris is a war simulator with only marginal diplomacy/trade features.
