Early invasion has always been a strategy, and the origin only makes it a bit easier. Finally it is poorly executed with not enough armies to do it without bombardments :-(
It's considered an exploit as you're not really meant to start with a federation only to immediately make them build tall so you can invade them a year later
What I like best about this is this isn't even an exploit! Backstabbing your frenemies is a perfectly legitimate strategy. Everything done here is above-board and working as designed.

Kinda what I was thinking... Any Driven Assimilator would outclass this 'exploit' in less time via consuming the two closest neighbors anyway... Hive minds can out-populate it in just as short a time, and honestly, If you don't have a 30k+ lead on the AI in _whatever game you're playing,_ you're a bad Human. the end of the cycle.
Sorry for my insubordination Dr. Pope. Sir. Spiff
Unless the buffed it in Federation, even if you give thousands of pops to end of the cycle, it's pitifully weak. A tiny fleet can defeat the "end game crisis". The only cool thing, is you can trigger it in multiplayer, but the chances of getting it are utterly insignificant.
Dude my freind plays this game all the time, I can’t wait to play with him and cheese him a whole bunch
He will appreciate it
By the time the update is out, the bug would probably have actually been fixed because, well, the devs WILL be looking at the video they payed to have been made.
The Spiffing Brit exactly, I just recently got the game, it’s also my first grand strategy game, he won’t even know what hit him
ThatOne User I just had a massive facepalm, I forgot the update wasn’t out yet
How delightfully eeeviiiillll
For a UA-camr that starts with Stellaris narration videos in the early days, you must be a proud Brit
Spiff is like the physical embodiment of British Colonialism

the voice sounds so strange... I think its not the spiffing brit, its his evil coffee drinking twin.
It sounds like his voice recoding was pitched up during production, idk why he did that. His regular voice sound much better.

(To further develop, it was intended as a joke)
The minute pause at the end is just symbolism of how the Spiffing Brit leaves no games, or galaxies, unbroken in his glorious wake.
is this really an exploit though? it just seems like a smart strategy to me :D
ikr
It’s not even a particularly powerful strategy too honestly
I mean, playing with the default settings is an exploit at this rate ... The default settings are there for people that don't know the game or just want to roleplay .... Early invasion has always been a strategy, and the origin only makes it a bit easier. Finally it is poorly executed with not enough armies to do it without bombardments :-(
The exploit is "Play on Ensign"
It's considered an exploit as you're not really meant to start with a federation only to immediately make them build tall so you can invade them a year later
What I like best about this is this isn't even an exploit! Backstabbing your frenemies is a perfectly legitimate strategy. Everything done here is above-board and working as designed.
I lost entire weeks in a row to this game once I got into it. Really addicting, be cautious anyone that reads this.
So true
The same is true with their previous game, Sins of a Solar Empire. I'm still losing months to this game.
I wish I had read this 3 weeks ago
Too late, as I'm writing this it's 5am, I go to work at 5:30am and I spent the last 16 hours playing nonstop without sleep....
i like to imagine that in this universe's reality when dimensional portal to evil realm opens and unleashes some lovecraftian monstrosity EVERYONE but spiff's forces runs away. Spiff's forces attempt to invade said alternative reality because, its there, they have to have some for of exotic tea and they need to learn about worshiping their soon to be god Spiff.
This sounds like you recorded this in your kitchen. I can tell from the sound waves bouncing off the kettle.
I can tell from the description. :O
*kettles
Spiff used the origin not the intended way what is cool and all, but this is not much more op then simply rush your two neighbors or in the other end of the spectrum ignore the navy and colonize 10-15 planets as gestalt as fast as possible. Cool strat but not an exploit.
Still, they could patch this origin by making it impossible to break the federation for the first 15 years or so.
Still, I always love the _approach_ he has to just playing well, like it's some _arcane secret_ to be good at logi-sploiting a game!
You can also kick one of them from the federation before you leave, making the two fight separately
Brit we miss stellaris videos
Bring them back pleeeasssee just once

Ah, the Spiffing Brit, jumping into the middle of your system when you least expect it.
What company would trust spiff with a game key they will never learn.
They got both an advertisement and a play tester for the price of one. Money well spent I say.
Actually, giving spiff an early key is litteraly game testing. Since it's an early key, by the time it's actually released the devs would have seen the video, and fixed the exploits.
So yeah.
@@margaritakouzi5630 Exactly, it's genius. Give Spiff a key long before the games going to be released so you can just watch the video and fix any exploits he points out. Most games i've been in early access for or gotten closed beta/alpha keys for back when i was a game tester they literally tell you to try to go out of your way to break the game as much as you can. That's the point. Though it seems the term 'beta test' or 'early access' has lost almost all of it's original meaning to the majority of gamers and game companies these days.

yes, and this is not an exploit. its just a strategy with lots of downsides and risks. the comments are as ridiculous as the stock image usage within the video
@@fsfx The exploit is spawning two lesser AI that you can box in and steal everything from at the start. Instead of having to explore and spread thin, you have two starting worlds right next to you and very little space for them to grow and put up a fight.
@@malcomchase9777 the boxing in is pure RNG. you can end up boxed in by your federation members
