Decided to try putting a whole new series'-worth of new RimWorld content into one video for a try. Let me know if you enjoy the format and I may try it again. Might make some changes next time.
@@jelqsensei yeah I've watched it must be a dozen times. Great background company when I'm working on something. The supercut video is 👌- even inspired me to try my own challenge run. I died. A lot...
It was a long time ago I figured this out, but you can actually do natural farming in cold climates with just a thermal vent. I think you can have 15-20% of a room unroofed before it becomes considered outdoors, so you can have a large room around a vent with some unroofed tiles to give sunlight. Then the plants will be warm enough at all times, and have light at daytime. No electricity needed, no research, immune to solar flares. Seems like the fertility in that region isn't good but it's still farmable.
@@everwhatever The ones that are unroofed are the best, but it does spread a little out from that. Most plants only need 51% light, so you can get a bit more.
Oops, proof I hadn't played for a while. I was wrong. Yes, only the ones that are unroofed. I tested it today and realized my mistake. Somehow a roof just cuts out all light.

So wonderful, thank you :) Recently I've been rewatching your older Rimworld series for like 6th time and I think that this kind of content fits Rimworld so much better than shorter formats. After all it's hard to immerse yourself in story and characters if it's a 15 minute fast-forward summary... and Rimworld is all about the story. Once again: thank you!
Thanks! I really appreciate that feedback - think if I revisit RW anymore I’ll keep it nice and long and less edited for that vibe. Kinda went to both extremes but I’m happy with this format for awhile
I've got to say, the jaunty elevator/lobby music really adds to the viewing experience. It puts you in the mindset of your standard Rimworld psychopathic cannibal. Yes, it's a feezing hellhole where everything wants you dead, and no part of a human goes to waste. But is it really that bad? You've got to remember to smile, and give a whistle.
@@alvinoid12 Haha, I feel personally attacked because this is way too relatable! Honestly, Pete could calmly narrate Cambiar struggling for food, and I’d still find it oddly soothing. :)
He's posted like 12 videos in the last 3 months. Unless I'm getting baited here and falling into the group of people acting like it hasn't been 3 months.
Pete Complete's Ice Sheet playthrough was the first of his content that I saw, and where I learned the mechanics of the game. Love him and Francis John both for game knowlege.
I just imagine Flynn aka "The nicest riot officer" "Okay there bucko you're coming with me ... wakey wakey ..and down the hall ...and tuck you back in (little smooch on the fore head) and here's your bear. I'll be back in the morning with some grub and we'll talk about what you've done. I love you, sweet dreams."
Ik this video format is probably one of the hardest possible formats from a production standpoint, but i really really love them. Its not the topics but the extended content that cuts out all the boring parts that makes it so engaging and relaxing to watch at the same time
I thought this was an upload of your whole Ice playthrough and then I remembered that was already up so Im happy for a new playthrough. If you'd like a suggestion for a simpler, if still weird Rimworld challenge, Rimworld Hound Master where you can only use Dogs (or dog like things, so wolves and Wargs count) to fight people. Could be neat.
Headcanon: Flynn sitting in his library all day, reading books, naked. When suddenly the colony gets attacked, he jumps out of his armchair, storms outside and runs at the enemy at 69mph, tears flying out of his eyes: "this hurts me more than you!" as he obliterates the enemy, just so he can return to his library enjoying the freedom of nature's gifts.
I'm sure it takes a super long time to make these, but I'm definitely in on these one video playthroughs. It's really nice being able to watch through the video 20 min at a time and pick up where I left off instead of digging through a playlist or waiting for the next part to be uploaded. Keep it up and thanks for the content! :)
oh im so so so glad AA decided to come back to the ice sheet playthrough, i really liked the first one. I also really like the whole series being in one long video. i will be watching this while doing some deep contemplation and organizing work
Ive stopped using UA-cam app entirely after I switched to Opera and im in love with watching these long videos with no pesky ads ruining the smoothness of your videos
Amazing you shouted out Pete Complete. Your videos got me into RimWorld, but Pete taught me how to play. Love to see you guys work on something together .... Even though both of you play single player 🤣
Honestly, I like this format a lot more than multiple episodes, makes the whole thing feel like a movie (specially considering the fact thst Rimworld is a storytelling game)
I think you would enjoy narcotic gooses rim world series, he survives on a whole planet covered in ice with the win condition to remove all factions on the planet
I discovered him about a week ago. For five years, I've been typing into UA-cam "Any good rimworld content? Bad content? Anything?" and every six months or so the algorithm responds with "Oh, you're interested in RIMWORLD content? Well, why didn't you say so!"
I tried this myself on naked brutality. Here is how it went: - My pawn flew in - I tried digging into a mountain - I realised my character was already suffering minor hypothermia so I panicked and looked around - Absolutely nothing in sight whatsoever - Froze to death shortly after 10/10
All over this might have to start my own solo cannibal ice sheet run now haven't played all year. Was just watching the old 200 man colony series when this dropped
I started watching this a few hours after to released it and was forced to pause and come back… I’m glad I remembered to actually come back because it was quite enjoyable! Which isn’t like, very surprising or anything. I really like watching AA!
@ambiguousamphibian I'm not sure if you ever see this, AA, but in case you do: you don't need to build two hospital monitors, just put one between hospital beds! if it touches the head part - it applies to both beds (or more if you put them all around it). Don't waste materials and space
AA playing Rimworld is the youtube equivalent to soul food for me. Rimworld and FTL videos are like being snuggled up in a blanket burrito by the fireplace with a warm can of soup on a cold winter night.
I definitely enjoy having these nice long format gameplays! It makes it feel more connected to the base and pawns vs smaller episodes which might not continue after
I don’t know if this would work But what if you did an iceberg survival? Like combining your island and sea ice play through so your on one big slab of ice surrounded by water Don’t know enough about rimworld to even know if that’s possible. But seemed like a pretty neat idea to see if something like that would work
I really love the format, though I almost didn't pull it up because I was expecting a supercut of an older already watched series, and not totally fresh stuff.
I always like the mod that makes clothes only become tainted if the enemy rots while wearing it. Because otherwise, you could have a pristine coat that was being worn when the wearer died, becoming tainted, while another coat, torn, bloodstained, riddled with vomit and bullet holes, is "untainted", so long as you strip the wearer a nonsecond before they die.
omg it makes me so happy that you referenced pete complete in this video, he's what originally got me into rimworld and it's awesome to see two of my favourite rimworld youtubers do something so similar
I like these long 1hr+ long videos or series more especially for rimworld! Thank you! Thee short 10 minute videos aren't long enough for me to really get into the storytelling aspect of the game
My dude, watching you strip people far away from your base and carrying each piece of clothing individually, as opposed to simply carrying them back and stripping them inside your storage hut is seriously going to make me cry. The same with unwanted colonists, why have them strip while standing in a puddle when you could have them strip inside and then go stand in a puddle?
My guy can't even put a link in the description after saying it in the video, we don't watch this to learn anything, this is like a... "how *not* to" kinda thing.
Pete Complete is indeed amazing and awesome! During his first RimWorld series, starring Cambiar (the cannibal psychopath) and Cobra (the first arrival not to be eaten) Randy Random delivered half a dozen or so cargo pods of cheeseburgers. I penned and posted a 3-sentence fan fic in which Cobra lets it slip that he prefers to keep kosher, at which point the morally grotesque murder hermit from a literal other planet (Cambiar) starts running and screaming "Oh God!!! Oh God!!! I'm trapped all alone out here, surrounded by Jew!!!" I was surprised that my contribution actually disappeared. Go unnoticed, sure - but about a week later it was gone. Pete speaks flawless British English. So I only later pieced together that he is in fact German. I don't THINK he got in trouble for the (my) joke but I feel a bit bad about the whole thing.

Just going to say, I very much prefer your longer form content. So even though I haven’t finished the video I can say I enjoy the format.
Oh I love this
AA is the type of guy to say "Don't mind if I do!" and wiggle his fingers before attacking a box of donuts
I'm cracking up over this
I really hope AA isn't the type of guy to say "Ohh I'm so bad" before attacking a box of donuts. Those people scare me.
So AA is Jerma?
I don't why this trend is spreading again across everyone I watch but I'm here for it
I'm sure AA enjoys the comparison to Homer. Though I wonder if he would've preferred the ancient Greek.
