Welcome to the Raven's Nest, rookie! We are known by many names. Mercs, LYNX, Pilots. Yet, the term "Raven" is the one we all came to be known as since 1997. Customize your AC, fighting other ACs and machines, and earn those credits to buy more parts for your AC is the name of the game! We _Armored Core_ community welcome you to the battlefield! The folf himself speaks of approval. Hope we can see more of Armored Core, unlike other gamers (i.e. EVERYONE ELSE) who's pretty much on Soulslike brainrot.
This was my GOTY for '23 AND '24... "Missiles... lots and lots of missiles." That's why Chatty's AC is called "Circus" - after "Itano Circus" - the anime trope of overwhelming missile volleys (named after the person who made it famous in shows like Macross).
When it comes to the boss nerfs, they have been completely overstated by people. For Balteus it was a slight missile tracking nerf, Sea Spider it was slight defence nerf and for Cel 240 it was a slight tracking nerf to the X shaped wave attack. They are not a "whole lot less aggressive", the changes were very minor and practically influence nothing outside of specific moments in their fights. The AI is the same, the aggression is the same, etc outside of like... 1 attack for them. You did get better at the game/had a better setup.
40:56 Ayyyyyy I love fatbrett! Dude makes awesome content. I’m sure he’ll love the shoutout. But don’t sell yourself short, my dude. This was a baller video that gives a very digestible summary of the game as a whole. Well done
My crying moment is at the end of Fires of Raven ending. The one where the COMS unlock the final message that Walter left for 621 "I'm sorry, and I'm grateful.... Whatever choices you make now... I just hope you find your true potential." Dad, why have you made me cry like this.
as a Gen 4 player of the AC series, I'll tell you this AC games were like 3X more complex, OS tuning was actually the redistributing of your parts stats yes all of your AC's parts and all of their stats, gen output, thrust EN consumption, projectile velocity, you name it, and in most AC games there was no such thing as check points and if you failed a mission say bye because now there is no replay option and you just wasted ammo and health with no payout meaning you go into debt which is hell... also if you want a good example of the hell the older AC games could be have a look at "I played 15 of From Software's HARDEST games" by VaatiVidya
Did you also have the reaction when you first saw Armored Core VI and thought: "Wait, there's an Armored Core 1-5?" Don't lie, I'm sure you did. Cause I did too, was skeptical, jumped in and loved it... and I haven't even beaten my first playthrough yet!
As for endings. I like the fires of Rubicon because it feels in theme for a world of corporate greed. A sort of "fuck ALL of you, you dont know what to do with this coral" and Raven becomes this Ominous symbol of death. I actually like the true ending the LEAST. The liberator ending feels good in the moment but keeping in mind that arquebus cand the other corps can just try again later, nothing really changes. It feels like a neutral, war is not over, ending.
Same, but for somewhat similar reasons. The secret ending feels a bit too fantastical for an Armored Core game. Yes, AC has delved into fantasy sci-fi and yes, mechs are unrealistic, but AC has never gone full "high fantasy" like they did with Coral. I don't hate it, but it feels slightly *off* for the franchise. The FoR ending is by far the most classic Armored Core ending.
I support the Fires of Rubicon ending as well, but not for the same reason. Coral is A) just that dangerous and B) "evolving" humanity to the point of not being human anymore. Cover earth in nuclear power plants to the point of just one cataclysmic meltdown would end everything. That is the threat Coral poses to the universe.
Man, I need to pick this game up again too. I did complete the game (Fires of Raven ending) but didn't finish a second or third playthrough. I did play just enough to see how missions had been altered with new options to encourage the repeat playthroughs.
Great video -- glad you took the plunge. I tell everyone this is a Fincher-thriller movie disguised as a mecha-action game -- Ridley or Fincher (Villenueve needs to stay on Dune) need to get on this ASAP
I just got into this game a few weeks ago since it was $20 on Amazon (thanks black friday), and i gotta say...i wish i took my time. This was the best game i played in a looong time. Planning on getting all the achievements but rn im just getting into the pvp with my signature White Haze (my AC that is totally not inspired by Rusty ;P) I hope there's a sequel or a future dlc but considering the Allmind ending i doubt thats possible. I would love to be proven wrong tho.
10:12 - "Eliminate the Enforcement Squad" is a traditional Armored Core mission. There were no check points, VERY sparse healing and almost no resupplies in the classic games. They loved throwing unfair fights at you after whittling your AP and ammo down to nothing. However, I will admit that the Heavy Calvary boss of that mission is one of the most frustrating in AC6.
The best part of the video is when he says: I've "acquired" the previous titles... And that's how I know that yer have travelled the seven seas, mate! 🏴☠
went and played the game because you said to, finished the true ending after 45 hours and it’s one of my favourite games of all time now. Ayre and Rusty
Armored Core 6 is one of my favorite games of all-time. Got to play it when it first came out which was around my birthday. One of the greatest gifts ever! The story is fantastic but the multiplayer definitely needs some more balance but hey at least it won best action game,
I had the game spoiled for me, purely because i wanted to see the game and how it played while i tried to scrape money together to buy the game. Once i did eventually get it. I played nothing but it. Beat all 3 endings in 6 months and S ranked every mission in the following month, before its 1 year anniversary. And have since started my pvp journey. Ive loved every second of my time with this game. This year alone ive sunk 400 hours in. Im still uploading my playthrough and have some pvp videos on my channel from my ranked climb out of unranked and into C rank, where i am now. I agree with you. This is MY game of the year 2024. And possibly 2025 depending on how much i play next year
Talking about the endings so spoilers and all but kind of a cool thing about the game is there is another side: But really I think the Fires of Raven make more sense. Like if you watch this show Farscape, there was a black hole weapon in it. Basiaccly all it does is create a small singularity so really at the start it's no big deal but it doubles every second and it doesn't stop. So what you really have is a galaxy ending threat due to exponential growth. You look at Coral, yeah it has all the humans that are consumed by the Fires of Ibis in it but if it grows and then explodes later, it can potentially consume the Mily Way. Watler is more worried about extinction here. In the Liberator of Rubicon, well you kind of killed all the leading scientist we know about that can research Coral for co-existence. So yeah it's the nice thing to do but your risking exactly what Watler feared. Alea iacta est, well I mean every tries to stop you. Allminds own men, the RLF, the corps, Walter, everyone is not liking what your putting down and really becoming coral and being trapped in machines isn't appealing. You don't even know if everyone can survive that. In reality you can potentially create a genocide much worst then the Fires of Raven. A lot of the writing form past AC games are also pretty pessimistic. Like the player in one of the AC 1 games thinks it's good to kill the humanity controlling AI only to think humanity is worst off because of it. I can see that happening to 621 honestly. Pretty cool writing regardless.
Please man I know you started with AC 6 but for the love of god you NEED to play the older games, AC 6 is definitely one of the best un term of storytelling but in pure gameplay I will say some of the older gen’s are way superior, just check them out please I beg you 🙏
What if i want to watch this video, but don't want to play this game, cause not interested in gameplay itself, with all those fights on mechas? 🤔 P.S. Also, play Baldur's Gate 3, you cute folf 🦁
Dog the Balteus nerf ain’t shit and I “beat Balteus pre nerf” (most ppl who say this are accused of not beating him pre-nerf nah I’m just not that proud) It’s the OS upgrades tht affect how easy more than anything
Yeah, Rusty became a nemesis when his commanding officer tells him to stop, and he just keeps going at you only now it is 2 v 1. That was my "you can take your buddy crap to hell when I send you there" moment
Yea campaign was good, but.... the pvp is fuckin horrible and the only thing holding this game back from being good as after your done with the campaign all that is left is the pvp and its horrible balancing issues

Not sure we can call anyone who platinum'd this game a "rookie" - even if this is their first AC game.
@@dhoffnun That's because he haven't play through every _AC_ game prior to _ACVI_ and thus, he haven't got the full _Armored Core_ experience.!
After getting all the achievements, I keep coming back to this to try new builds and PvP. It’s so good 😩

I fucking adore armored core 6. Great game 9/10. And it has a Pixy-like character! So yeah its peak.
I am very much ummm *attracted* to rusty.

I always save scummed those older games to beat them.

Trying to recruit new Lynxs ?😂

Anyone here 2026?
The armored core 6 DLC is amazing!
Too bad my PS6 suxks can barely run it.
It was my game of the year last year
*I couldn't get past the guy with all the missiles 😐 great game up to that point though* 👌
Best part about him? Not even the hardest boss, AND he was nerfed. Can't wait till you find Melania 240 lol

idk man rusty saying "rubicon needs me. who needs you?" kinda put me off him
That was such a great line for that route, though. It stabs you right in the heart, after the game spent all this time ingratiating you to Rusty.
