I really love all the Star Wars replica toy drones Air Hogs has been putting out. I have the same problem Ryan ........... No one to fly with. Thanks for all your vids.
This the only one I don't have yet... thx for review... my Millennium Falcon XL flew terrible with rotor covers on but beautifully with them off. After about ten flights the front left motor failed. Being replaced by Amazon. I love how loud it was combined with the movie sounds plus how it blew everything off tables, cats and dogs run and hide kids watching in awe. Han and Chewie in a lighted cockpit. Money back not an option $99, I have to have this lol...!
Good to know! I heard so many bad things about that XL, so that was the only one that I chose not to buy/review. Looks like Air Hogs made this video to help counter some of the bad reviews that product was getting. :)
Well, I have been flying for 10+ years, so I can fly pretty much everything, but this one is a bit harder to fly than the X-Wing and other similar models. :)
I got the X-wing and Death Star for Christmas and just picked up the Tie Fighter at Target (its currently 50% off there if you can find it). From my experience, the Tie Fighter can't shoot the Death Star, and the Death Star doesn't hit the Tie Fighter. So with two people, you can play all three drones with the Tie Fighter defending the Death Star from the X-wing.
Pretty cool. Looks amazing! Ill wait for it at TJ MAX and get it for $29.99 next year. Cant wait to see a bigger more powerful one that you can fly outside. It would be really cool if DJI could make one.
I'm noticing something that might explain why it doesn't fly so great; the front to back props distance is longer than the left to right. If you drew a line between every motor, you'd get a rectangle instead of a square. Plus it seems larger than it is long, so just like the one with the wheels on the side recovers very slowly from flips, this one is very unstable from left to right.
Well, that's called an "H-Quad" and is a pretty common design, so I don't think that's the problem. I think it's just because it is heavier, and possibly has odd weight distribution.
They have sent me items to review for quite some time (they actually had a lot to do with encouraging me to get into reviewing RCs in the first place). But, I bought these Star Wars models myself. I'm a big fan of Air Hogs... their Havoc Heli was the first flying RC I ever used. :)
Hey Ryan, I'm looking to buy my little cousin (12 years old) a nano quadcopter with a hover feature for Christmas. Do any nanos have a hover feature? Or are they all 100% manual?
There are nanos with altitude-hold, if that's what you mean. They will hold their height, without the pilot having to manage the throttle. But they will not hover perfectly in place, like a GPS lock allows. So, the pilot still needs to manage the right stick to keep a stable hover. The newest Sky Viper nano has altitude-hold, if you are looking for something in a toy store. Or, if you are buying online, there are many options, such as the Cheerson CX-10D.
Found one of these for $7 at Goodwill, but I can't get it to lift off evenly. I've done a lot of tinkering with the anti-drift/spin adjusters, but that doesn't seem to be helping. Any advice?
Check to make sure the props are on in the correct positions and that they aren't bent or heavily damaged. Also make sure the quad is on a level surface with you power it up and connect it to the controller.
It should just pull off. Sometimes it may be easier to pry it off from below. And be sure you replace it with a rotor with the same pitch as the one you are replacing.
hi :) i know im late but can i ask how can i change its propeller? im having trouble removing it , i think it will break the whole thing if i force it ... one of it broke and i really cant remove it so now it doesnt even fly anymore
They just push on and pull off. It may be easiest to pry the prop off from below, with a butter knife or flathead screwdriver. Just wedge it between the motor and bottom of the prop and pry it off. :) Also be sure you replace the prop with a spare that has the same blade angle.
Thank for the reply but , i already replaced it myself , i used a lighter to heated off the broken propeller and it works but the problem now is i cant seem to control it in a cement ground which is where i live , it only works on a carpetted floor lol i dont even know why
yes i know but i really played it like hours now to really know why, and it really flops when im outside ground its not even windy, and when im in our living room and it can fly high
It is very sturdy, looks great but is probably the worst flyer ever... incredibly under powered hard to control and the battery life is hopeless! Definitely do not buy this for your young kids... trimming the controls is dodgy and I doubt you could ever aim it well enough to lazer shoot the broad side of a barn let alone another little Star Wars vehicle
the entire time you flew it the imperial march was playing in my head lol
Haha!

It's unfortunate, because these seem like they'd be so much fun to fly with a friend. :) I need to train my friends how to fly. hahaha
i hear ya
Ryan, what we need is a dozen people.
6 with T.I.E. fighters, 6 with X wings
Total chaos but EPIC total chaos!
That would be so much fun! :)
two words - FUCK YES
Michael Thompson ohhh ya
another good star wars RC review Ryan
Thanks! :)
What i love about Ryan is that he actually replies to people's comments
I try my best to reply to them all. :)

Yes lots of tie fighters,I have the death Star destroyer quad. lots of fun.
I think Air Hogs has a winner here with this line of quadcopters they're Ghana make a lot of money
Yeah, these Star Wars RCs are great for us fans. Who could pass up the chance to fly these iconic vehicles!?
Flyin' Ryan RC
Me because they're expensive!
;)
You say it doesn't fly as well but you make it look so easy and fun :)
Well, I have been flying for 10+ years, so I can fly pretty much everything, but this one is a bit harder to fly than the X-Wing and other similar models. :)
Flyin' Ryan RC Not much of a drone fanatic, came here for the Stars Wars but it looks really fun and interesting
Yeah that was the one. It’s sounds like a tie fighter too…….I had one but it landed in the pool, & never worked again 🤷🏽♂️ Nice clip 👊🏽
That would of been cool if it landed on its side right on the H :) Great review Ryan!!
I got to admit those quad copters.the x wing looks cool. I'm going to get my self one.
Nice video. Loving the proper Star Wars transitions :)
Haha, you're the first person to notice/mention those! :D

Whoa, interesting! I figured it would for sure hit the Death Star. Guess that's pretty cool though!
beautiful video - I pray for your viewing

I will do a laser battle with you Ryan but I want the X-Wing LOL
Haha! Unfair advantage! :)~
Flyin' Ryan RC awww😦😦😦
Considering you only have a small space you flew that quite well that would be a good idea if you could have laser fighting. Good vid

cool quad, I want one for me myself and I too. ::)
Haha! I love all these Star Wars RCs. :)
You should just get the cheaper star wars battle drones by propell, it's only 35 bucks for the standard edition
Thats rc drone has the Jedi Knight power. Nice.
That is so cool I wish you could do a review with all them going at once
Yeah, me too! I need to teach a friend to fly with me. haha
Flyin' Ryan RC
I'll come on over ;)
Flyin' Ryan RC
I'll come on over ;)

Awesome.... awesome...& Awesome
I had the millennium falcon foam drone

Thanks! :)
very nice video like friend
Cool
Nice video
Thanks :)
that's for your videos
Do a review of the parrot mambo
I reviewed the Rolling Spider, which is basically the same thing, and I didn't like it enough to justify buying the Mambo as well.
great review, just got a Dji Phantom 3 standard, 100€ off for black friday :)
Mihkel Rebane that's a really nice quadcopter I hope you have fun with it
Lance H Im sure I wil :D
Mihkel Rebane can I get the Link
MM Vlogs Its from a local shop, and I live in Estonia, so I don't think it will be any help, as they do not ship
Mihkel Rebane OK thanks any way
I really like your landing pad. Did you make it? its pretty cool.
I bought it on Amazon: ua-cam.com/video/_UqrzHgAuHc/v-deo.html
ni te entiende nada pero me gustan tus vídeos
👏👍👍👍👍😂
Haha, thanks! :D
Are you working with air hogs now??

Flyin Ryan is the sky trainer 182 hard to fly am tell me more about it thanks
How do you adjust it? Mine takes off sideways or backwards or takes off in a direction and just keeps going.
Are your props damaged? Make sure it is sitting on a level surface when you power it up.
Flying alone is so boring. Flying with others helps you improve also. I just wish I knew someone to fly with.
Skip to 6:30 to see it fly
how do you replace the wings if there is hair in them
Just pull the prop off, and remove the hair, and then put the prop back on. Make sure you put the props back on in the proper positions.
can you buy a team associated b5m
How much that
hi is watching in 2020

That doesn't make sense. There is no reason the ground type should have anything to do with it. Maybe it's just because of the wind outdoors?
yes i know but i really played it like hours now to really know why, and it really flops when im outside ground its not even windy, and when im in our living room and it can fly high
damn it, it isn't on the Amazon UK site :(
is there a way to get it in the UK?
Hmm, I'm not sure. Star Wars licensing is pretty complex, so Air Hogs may only have rights to sell these in the US. Maybe you could find one on eBay?
2:42 you mean tie fighter.
Nope. I was talking about the X-Wing and Death Star combo and how that could maybe be used with this TIE Fighter.
can you send me one of your old but working quadcopters please😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
why is every fucking Quad called a drone!
It's the term the media has created, and I don't think there's any changing it at this point.
max chilla to make them sound fancier so the public will pay more.
max chilla and the media for the regular public that people will understand.
