30bux at costco this last weekend.
My dad got me one for Christmas! So happy with it!! I did crash it a lot, but luckily the wings just pop back on after a collision. The tricks are so much fun to do!

What! Star Wars laser tag quads that blast Star Wars themed noises from the box when you open it! Also the controller when you use it and the battery compartment when you fuel it! Just Inspiring. I am blown away rite now! Dustins perfect Christmas Present.. To himself😁 Amazing level of detail and Im happy to live in such a cool time! How have I only just found out about these.

Bought this and the X-wing on sale for $40-$49. Learned a lot from your reviews. I quickly broke my guards and their website is always out of stock. The instructions were confusing on music mode...glad you mentioned how to turn that music down or off. Glad you mentioned to calibrate each time with a system check (and shimming it to help with drift). Thanks to you, I can put mine into battle mode for some laser tag battle action.
I was never a Star Wars fan but that's an mpressive unboxing presentation. More companies should do something similar.
Nicely done reviews! Just bought one of these for my son-in-law for Christmas and can't wait to watch him do the unboxing.
The spare wings are designed differently than what it comes equipped with and may make a difference in stability when executing quick/fast turns in breezy conditions.

I lucked out and bought the buy one get one free deal! And I just opened my tie fighter last night. In the extra parts box they included an extra set of wings that look to be vented or slotted to help with the cross wind issue.
I’ve never used mine but this made me smile the whole time
I got the x wing and tie fighter for Christmas they are awesome but my first drones and when I crash them it hurts because I love them so much u are so good at flying them

Target had these on clearance for 75 bucks. I was blown away taking it out of the box.
I'm waaay late to the drone hobby but, I must have one of these! I'm 41 but I'm still a kid at heart. This looks like a whole lot of fun. I'm gonna get the speeder bike too.😍

The alternate wing fins are better for outside as they are open/grated so air can go through.
I got this guy for 38 bucks today at Walmart on clearance! Reviews are so much better than some of that air hogs crap.

after seeing your review I immediately ordered my tie advanced. but after 2 weeks I had to buy another one immediately, since it crashed in the middle of a wood and I could not find it anymore .. now I will pay much more attention ..greetings from Italy.
I bought this new as a CHristmas gift for a relative, no idea if they could fly it or if it crashed, I was going to get them a Millenium Falcon to fight, but I don't think it ever came out!!
The reason the music stops when you put the silver lid on Is, on the bottom of the display there is a circle that bulges out that is a magnetic activation catch and the 3d vehicles on the box has a small magnetic activation catch too
I figured by the 3rd review you would have shown us how to trim by holding down the right bottom bumper and using the right stick up/down/left/or right to trim whichever direction it's drifting instead of shimming as you suggest. Very thorough review, you were the first one to "pop my cherry" lol about these Star Wars drones! I absolutely love these but probably wouldn't think about getting one if not for the ground breaking display case. That is what really sold me on these. Instead of your drones just laying around or sitting in a box, you can proudly display these. Any news on the Millennium Falcon release? I keep checking the internet but find nothing except for release around the Hans Solo movie. But that didn't happen. Any info you might have would be great! Thanks for the awesome reviews.

second set of wings in box are for outdoors because they are not solid they have openings in them to allow wind to go through so the wind dont catch them as much as the solid indoor wings..
These things are awesome. I got both the Tie and X-wing. One thing they don't tell you in the manual is that you can actually trim them even though they don't have any trimcontrols on the remote.
Still waiting on the Millenium Falcon, Propel went dark all of a sudden.

I've seen a preview of it on some show but it's actually the same size as the X-wing and Tie-fighter. So it's not the same scale, kind of disappointing. The box is the same size too.
I was hoping it had the same scale, imagine flying around with that beast. With those engines lit up etc.
I got one at Costco and since my dad works there he was the first to to know how much there where and I asked him for it and he said yes and I’m to lazy to read lol

I doubt it was the collectors edition with the packaging etc. Cheapest i could find those was around 50 to 70 euros.

Probably a little late on this CRITICAL INFO for most Force drone users... but if you’re still in the market for Vader’s Tie fighter- may this post encourage you flight wise...
I acquired each of the three Propel Star Wars drone models at the end of 2019.
So I was brand new to the drone scene. These were my first ever drones. X-Wing 1still flies with 1 crooked laser arm and is truly snub nosed now but it was my guinea pig for the first few days until I got the hang of it.
And I soon found by closer inspection (thru trial & error in owning my first Tie) that the KEY to speed flying, maneuvering etc. without control loss involving catastrophic descents & sudden drops is attaching the OPEN PANEL WINGS that come in the accessories box.
Logically, they OUGHT be considered PRIMARY re: aero dynamics with the Solid Wings rendered for light stand display purposes ONLY.
Just 4 very, very tiny screws to deal with using the ‘handy dandy’ embedded screwdriver on the remote’s right side and you’re in business.
The OPEN PANEL WING SET gives the Advanced Tie x1 way more stability and control versus the solid wings. They are a MUST for outdoors!
Unfortunately, I noticed this a little too late in the beginning...
I also noticed in your video how when unpacking it-you too didn’t notice the difference in the wings? I expected you would not as I did not. I was like oh, a second set-cool and gave it no more thought initially. Probably this is pretty much the case for most of us for a few reasons:
1) Flight Manuel makes no mention of this Wing design detail that I can find?
2) It comes out of the box with solid wings attached.
3) Very cool Propel video promo shows Vader’s Tie flying with solid wings. So why would we Force sensitive geniuses think otherwise?

But you notice right away by comparison to the X-Wing & Speeder Bike’s handling (if you have those too) that the Tie has trouble staying in the air at times when thrusting or attempting maneuvers outside as your video aptly demonstrated. I was quite expecting as much. Your experience mirrored mine exactly with the Tie...
Probably, also why the Tie now sells the cheapest of the three models...?

So, to end this post with confirmation Force,
when I got my SECOND Tie (as the first one lost an engine in all probability due to far too many sudden catastrophic drops/crashes AND/OR not to mention the Tie’s engines no doubt have to work harder & over strain just to stay in the air with the solid wings causing fast burnout...
Note: cracked the blade cage in several places adding new shrink wrap fixes each time bec I refused to fly it (specifically) without the protective cage...
Hence, with the 2nd Tie in my possession as of recently,
I now had 4 Batteries and did four aggressive outside flight tests in a row (with some recovery time in between) and each time it flew-SIMPLY AWESOME!
I can sincerely report NO sudden drops or catastrophic crashes with the Open Panel Wings attached.
The “Vader” ATx1 handles superbly=no more essentially [side wall] wing resistance... And is on par with the Speeder Bike & X-Wing ... the key all along was the WINGS...

Went through 3 of them untilI found one that worked. First one was not charging, second one it was leaning to the right while flying and sync was not working. Third one was perfect

Wow the are a ton of reviews about these star wars drones! I think they look sweet and some fly really nice!!👍 for how it looks it flys sweet!! By that i mean it does not look like it would fly so nice thanks for posting
DRONE review man of all drones It does come with the outdoor flying side panels so the flutter doesn't happen so much and there's even more that he doesn't explain like the roller knob on the left side slide it all the way up for full throttle control it's slides up hard and you know it works when the controller tells you and the throttle stick stays where you put it. Target had them all on clearance for 45 bucks, WHAT A DEAL but there stock should all be gone by now but Bed Bath and Beyond and Staples has them all on sale for 80 tax included and still a great bargain. I bought 12 of them and sold a couple to my buds and gave a couple to my son. I have many quads and these are in my top 5
X-Wing does the same thing with the drop/flutter while turning. It's really hard to maneuver for battle mode as a result..which feels a bit disappointing. Dog fights when you can't quickly funnel out to get position on an opponent is no fun.

I am very sad, that I bought this for $40, which was a steal after Christmas, but then the glass was cracked and the music stopped out of the package. I might return it and buy a new one.
the cell holder is for the app download on your phone then connect through bluetooth and the remote and app train you to fly.

If the pitch (sound) were a little lower, it would sound not unlike a real Tie fighter buzzing by. They really should've colored the motor pod/struts black or something to help hide them.

Funny this popped up in my feed this am. They ran a sale at Tuesday Morning for these for 50.00. I got both and two more to leave alone as collectors items. Last night Darth flew up up and away in a true fly away that was pretty amazing. I watched it climb up past the clouds in twilight from what was previously a simple safe outside flight. I guess it disconnected from the controls and was stuck n full throttle. My question is do I open the other one as now I’ve got all this cool stuff but no drone to go with it.
Put the "extra" wings on to improve maneuverability since those are the ones that are for flight. The "rotor base" has nothing to do with it.
Trying to figure out what's wrong with my drone. I followed all your directions. My battery was completely charged but after the launch sequence it activates for a couple seconds and then the battery lights start blinking

I got one of these for Christmas. Unfortunately, I think I got a defective one. We put it together like we're supposed to, but it won't launch like yours and we haven't gotten it to fly at all.

I got this one for my kid for Xmas. We have been trying it out indoors. Cant say it is stable enough to actually fly indoors like you do in the video. Either the TIE-fighter he got is not working properly or you are an ace flying it in this video.
Feels like its impossible to fly indoors because of so much drift. Outside its like 50cm snow and -15 Celsius so dont know if thats a good idea.
Maybe Ill rent a sports hall here for him to try in.

We have checked everything. The batteries, the letters, we lubricated it but does not move. The toy has like three years at home and we have use it just twice. Maybe you can tell me what could go wrong. Or maybe is damaged. Thanks a lot !
There are "help videos" on Propels sight as well as just instructions on how to adjust for drift electronically with the controller so you don't have to waste time trying to "shim with a piece of paper" on the actual propeller. Just a thought, instructions are great eh.
I’m struggling to fix mine. I replaced the propeller, launched from a flat surface, made sure the propeller wasn’t on too tight, fully charged battery, etc. yet the back right propeller won’t work and calibrating it doesn’t fix it.
I just got it yesterday but I can’t figure anything out and I’m new to drones so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
Which one of these are the best in your opinion. The x-wing or the tie fighter?

Just got this for my birthday today. I read that there can be some issues with the motors, is there anything you know of that could help stop that from happening?
I read the same thing and just went ahead and bought some replacement motors . They dont cost that much .
mine doesnt work...... i did the systems check thing press launch, it spins the props for a second then stops
