So far this has worked my van started randomly throwing all the dash lights on headlights on all gears lit up trac off and no miles displayed as well as gauges freezing and stopping i tried this fix overnight hooked it up and started it it’s was doing the same thing for about a minute then turned off and has not been back so far
I'm trying this now....I've replace the starter the battery n starter relay ...when I tried to start it now the fuse box started going crazy...ticking... ..before it wouldnt start sometimes then I would have to give it gas to start it...but less n less it started till it didn't start at all....so I found this video n hoping it will work ... I think it has something to do with the fuel ..sometimes the gas speedometer doesn't work or jumps up and down n the gas one is always off ... Any suggestions ? If this doesn't work? Will let u know in few hours

I have not read through all the comments so if I am repeating my apologies. Connecting the positive and negative leads together is likely discharging capacitors throughout the electrical system, TIPM and elsewhere. Having to keep them connected for hours is consistent with slowly discharging capacitors.

I have a 2014 Town and Country van. It's started out that the engine light goes on, I did a scan and it said to replace the Cadlic converter. Then after it said to replace the oxygen sensors on the converter. Now the dash lights and on, no blinkers, heated seats don't work, no speedometer, no mileage, no gas signal. Not sure what it is, costing me allot of money just to figure it out. If I clean out the tipm, or replace it, do I have to reset the computer? Plus the lead on the ECMS looks like it might not be on correctly. Could that be the cause???
Hello, your 2014 will be multiple generations newer than 2002 Town & Country. They have changed a lot of the technology and computers since then. This sounds like it's either a wiring issue or computer-related. It's really had to diagnose without being present. These vehicles are known to have both wiring issues and computer issues in most years. I'd definitely look at the leads to your ECM and see if that might be the root cause. Do you have a trusted mechanic in your area?
@@deanjagger1190 That's definitely a good idea. Sometimes these vehicles are plagued with wiring issues. Also check to ensure you have good ground. I don't remember exactly where they are located, but I think there is one under the battery and another on the opposite side of the engine block from there. If not properly grounded, you can experience some issues too.
@@MCFIXIT I did clean the Tipm, fuze box out and put it back in. Didn't work, but before that I checked to ground wires on e side of the motor. Looked ok. Now I think it might be the insterment cluster. Ho[pe that's it.

Could this solve my issue with ODB2 not getting power? Says in manual after battery replacement it needed to be reset by dealership in manual. I never put those terminals together gonna try it though.

You have to get it coded for your vehicle. Where did you get the part at? Some of them program them for you. That’s a different process than this video.
I tried all the fuses except the big squear one. I was thinking it was a loose wier on the altrinator Or something under the car. So if I take the tipm out of the van, clean it, and see if it works. I wonder if there is any call backs for the Crystler 2014 town and country, do you know how to find out?
I'm doing my reset on a 08 dodge nitro right now, battery is still on car, just unplug and put aside when putting +/- together, unplugged all my TIPM plugs and leaving it over night, my SUV is possessed and need to remove the evil out, hopefully this does the trick, I believe when my struts were replaced, my guy did not reset my TIPM and had unplugged all plugs to get to the driver side strut, and as I know for fact for I was there, he did not reset anything, maybe this caused me issues later🤷
@@MCFIXIT already connected it all, did a short test run, so far it's fine, but later it would do it's possession act, will see later on tonight picking up my son, not driving on fway just in case something happens. UPDATE: IT HAPPENED AGAIN LESS CRAZY BUT IT DID, IT'S THE TIPM🥺 HAVE TO REPLACE
That could be the issue. This is a pretty easy method for checking to see if that works. Also you won’t have to spend any money on this method. Please let me know if it does so I can instruct others that that might be helpful to them

@@anamarin6475 On my Harley, if the ECM sees 'low voltage' even on a newer battery (sitting for a while) , it will have issues. Cool that your new battery solved the issue. If you remember the video , a link or exact name would be great!
I don't remember exactly now since it's been over a year since I did this fix, but it had to do some with some random issues where the lights would mess and once the wipers turned on when they weren't one. This helped reset everything and make it work properly again.
Your vehicle looks like is possessed, that's what we call it in the Dodge nitro community, my case my light on panels started blinking rpm and speedometer started going nutz, some say their wiper and windows come alive, also wipers and lights and alarm goes nutz, and like mine my vehicle completely shuts off and turns back on
Great question. Technically no. But I would make sure to take it out so the cable do NOT accidentally hit the terminals. It's not worth the risk to leave the battery in there
I don’t know if you could help me but I’m having a problem I replace three alternators and they still don’t they still fail when I take it to the auto parts store to check the alternator charging the battery I’m having all kinds of crazy blinking of the lights Panel lights after the car sits overnight it won’t start it seems like a drain the battery but the alternator is showing it’s not charging I went through three brand new alternator don’t know what the problem was wondering if you can help
Do you have a multimeter? Set it to 20v (or 12v). See if how much power you are running at the battery and at the alternator positive port. Then crank the ignition. See if there is much of a drop. You maybe experiencing voltage dropping and your alternator is not able to work properly. Good luck on your fix!

Hey... There are many videos on recalibrating the heat/cool and air diverter doors by press and holding both either PWR and RECIRC buttons or .... depending on make/ model/ yr
This is a Integrated Power Module ( there is no microprocessor or microcontroller to reset in that IPM) not the dreaded Totally Integrated Power Module that Totally sucks., the TIPM, wasn’t installed upon Chrysler Town and Country until 2008 and up. This is a 2002, same as the 2001-2007 4th Generation Minivans!

It could mean that also check to make sure you are getting fuel (fuel pump) comes on when trying to start. It could also be spark (coils, plugs). It could also be battery (make sure you have 12v+ at battery).

Is there any volatile memory in the TIPM that can be "reset"? I took the fuse box out of my 2005 Grand Caravan, and there was only analog circuit board, fuses, and relays; nothing that could be "reset". Perhaps this process would work for the Engine Control Module.
I have no power at the range sensors on the tranny. No ignition power at the starter. Have starter power from battery. Any ideas?? This didn't work for me 😢
That’s weird. Have you tested all of your grounds to ensure they’re properly connected and aren’t rusted? There is one under the battery connected to the metal and another one on the engine.
I got a 2012Town&country it wouldn’t start until I piper cable less then 10 to 15 second then it starts right up and runs all at I change the dack door lock because it would keep the lights on all get

You know how the clock and radio n cd 💿 all together, well it been 15 yrs since it last work.. when u turn radio on or CD player or cassette it starts blinking with slight noise and only happens when turned on, but lately sometimes not always when turn key on it makes my CD player act like I just turned it on does blinking…. Now when start my van sometimes the fans to Heater turns on automatic without being on strange never experienced these thing on car like my DGC it 2001 … do u think it could help doing this?
No, it just resets the TIPM. It helps with the electrical system with the TIPM like draining energy from the capacitors or showing you that you may need to replace the TIPM.
My husband put a new battery in it and started it and left it Run for awhile and it run out of gas now it won't start you can hear the fuel pump but won't start
Thanks for writing. I’ve never come across an issue like that. Im not sure the resetting the TIPM would help but it might. Maybe try putting the fuel pump relay and check to make sure it still working.
Great question! I was trying to diagnose a no start no crank. I had done a lot of tests and a few repairs already. I was hitting a dead end when I read a forum about doing this and it fixed their problem. This does nothing and the battery will not drain I tried this myself for 24 hours and hooked both cables back up and the mileage trip reading was still the same does nothing
Sorry that it did not work for you. I had good luck using this method. Maybe try clamping them together with a vice grip tool that can really lock them together. Hope this helps and resolves your issue!
There is 100 percent nothing NOTHING I REPEAT NOTHING inside that power distribution box that can be reset they will let anybody post a video..... You can reset the pcm using the method that you show in the video if you turn the head lights on it will drain the compasitor in the pcm faster in like 15 minutes

I will disconnect the negative and put a jumper cable from negative to positive without removing the battery. Thank you

That was to an additional set of fog lights that weren’t original

No remove all plugs, I guy who worked in a dealership has a video telling all their tricks, and he said to remove all plugs

Mine doesn’t have the security system but it should. It’s resetting pretty much everything when you do this

Great question! I was trying to diagnose a no start no crank. I had done a lot of tests and a few repairs already. I was hitting a dead end when I read a forum about doing this and it fixed their problem. This does nothing and the battery will not drain I tried this myself for 24 hours and hooked both cables back up and the mileage trip reading was still the same does nothing
Sorry that it did not work for you. I had good luck using this method. Maybe try clamping them together with a vice grip tool that can really lock them together. Hope this helps and resolves your issue!

There is 100 percent nothing NOTHING I REPEAT NOTHING inside that power distribution box that can be reset they will let anybody post a video..... You can reset the pcm using the method that you show in the video if you turn the head lights on it will drain the compasitor in the pcm faster in like 15 minutes

Totally Integrated Power Module... or some call it just the fuse box. It holds the powerboard and fuses inside of it.
didnt work for e the tipm was total dead took 3 day for it to come back

Great question! Actually no. It does not have any power in it. This process actually makes it like a hard reset on your phone. It causes everything to power down and hopefully helps you solve problems when its all been reconnected in about 4 hours or the next day.
