How often should you re apply the coat? Once every year? My 01 3500 is pretty clean underneath from being a Georgia truck. I live in Iowa with harsh winters and salty roads.
Also, do you need to clean the frame before coating?

I oil spray all 6 trucks every fall.

Wouldn’t it be better to strip it down and paint or powder coat it? I know it’s a lot more work.

No. Once a hard coating cracks or gets a scratch its going to rust . Not oil , it re seals itself .
