I'm not telling you how to do things but you could have used a set of spring compressors instead of taking control arms off and disconnecting other things.
Don't need to take control arms off or use spring compressors. Do one side at a time and use a jack on the opposite side you are working on, will open up the gap for the springs enough for you to remove. Easy Pz lemon squeezy.
Just did mine yesterday..thanks for the help fellas
Good job using what you had on hand, and doing some fenaggeling to get it done.
I love how your front window is tinted..very cool
Thanks for making a video without f bombs, esp at your age. Nice truck and good job on working safe too. Those Cummins will run forever. My 2012 has 235k on the clock. Ram has come a long way....
Keep up the great vids
GREAT JOB, you guys did great, always take your time on things like that so it is done right, good thing you changed them when you did, Truck Looks great. A shop would have taken just as long and charged alot of $$$, if you get any tire wobble or death wobble in front end then have it re-aligned.
What size tires did you have on the truck in this video, and were there any issues with rubbing. I may install a leveling kit myself
She's looking good bro 👌🤘
last step whenever changing the vehicle's pitch angle is to readjust the headlights so that they are properly aimed. i know most people don't understand the reasoning and will likely never perform this final step and say it's fine the way it is.
d m I will when I get new ones... but I don't really drive the truck much right now let alone at night
Looks good, in the future you may want to eventually replace the coil spring buckets, they looked pretty thin and rusty.
Im not sure but you might also need a spring compressor. If not, let me know.
Life motivational....salute....
Does the truck ride the same since you leveled it? Any harsher ride?
Need advice for a 2000 dodge cummins 24v
I broke all my front suspension
And insurance wont pay
So looking to fix it myself
Any videos on how yo move front axle back to place
I use to have a 2nd gen and I put a leveling kit on mine and they make it look so much better. I got a 3rd gen now so I'll probably put one on there soon
I really like those wheels
I wonder how high you can go with coil spacers before you have to start changing suspension parts like trackbar and control arms. i want to do 3 inch spacers.
u can slap 3inchers in there and be aight. but front control arms,3rd gen track bar, sway bar end links (non ball joints) ,and t steering tie rods/drag link will help
What do you use to film your videos? Thanks
How does it handle after the lift
Did you do the rear??
I know this video was done 5 yrs. Ago, but did you truck experienced any death throbble? And if it did what was done to fix problem?
You can get slim lug nut sockets online or parts store may have em but I had to get a set after I got aftermarket rims on my truck
How's it going?? it looks awesome nice job!!! I know those struts are unforgiven especially from the factory n how long it's been on the truck ,but cool vid. Thanks for sharing!!!! :-) :-)
i like the rim's on truck
I still to this day cant get the bottom shock bolts and flagnuts loose! i tried impactguns, soaking with nutbuster and they wont budge! lol!
spring compressor make a world of a difference. especially since you had room to use one. and for the record you don't have to buy one, just rent one at your local auto parts store
LOUD 'N' PROUD you get the money back once you return it.... when it makes the job as easy as it would have trust me that it's worth it
I put 4 inch spacers on my truck with stock control arms and didn't have to take my control arms off
What did you do for bed rattle mine is crazy bad
Matthew Maya video on it a few back in my "96 Cummins" playlist.... thumbnail of my trucks front end next to s big John Deere
"Pearches" The metal where the spring sits is called a pearch. I have also herd them called a "spring landing," and in some cars a "spring pocket" depdning on desing. But does it matter? We all know what you meant, and what it does. Didn't see it, but I hope you treated the metal to slow the rust.
you may want to consider getting an Alignment done when you put your wheels and tires on.
The only thing needed to remove is sway bar links
Actually I used spring compressor
Make sure you replace that heat shield asap my cousin took his off and never put on back on and his clear coat on his hood is completely gone. Great vid btw
Garrett Murphy heat shield or not most old doges loose all good paint lol... notorious for it... the motor heat won't be enough to do it much harm
make sure to get front end alignment
he doesn't need to worry about it till he gets new tires tho. have you seen them tires 🙈😂 anyways would love to see pic or video of what the spacer looks like close up in the wheel well!
Dude, either tint the whole windshield or remove the bottom tint..
so if i bring my truck out there yall wanna do my shocks and leveling kit too? lol just messin man. trucks lookin good. cant wait to see the new wheels and tires
I really wanted to talk shit, but it was your first time I hope.
But on a real note do one side at a time with the frame on jack stands and you can knock it out it about an hour.
Don't need to be taking all that stuff off. It supper easy to do just a heads up incase you go bigger.
Dontae Faleao it was on jack stands all of the way up.. and we still had to take off what we did to make it all work... from what I heard from other guys they had to remove the same things on a solid axle heavy duty truck to fit it all without spring compressors
Glad I live in Louisiana that rust is horrible we charge extra to work on rusty vehicles down here
Where do you live, it's so country and removed I love it
what state do you live in?
Hit all the rust with a wire wheel and then paint it while it's apart. At least until you replace the rusted out parts.
U should spray ur chassis with bed linear it will look better then the rust
That's a terrible idea. Spraying over rust doesn't fix the problem it just covers it up. If anything he should use por15
honestly if it was my truck I'll go with a white and gloss black look.
Lit 🔥
I think now that u changed the height of the front axel u might have problem with death wobble.
Jack Long death wobble is caused by worn out suspension components not just putting a lift on your truck
worn out? more like brand new chrysler suspension components will cause death wobble.
I did my whole suspension solo man 😂 and almost died only once tho ur wasting money going with the level spacers get u some carli or thuren you wont regret it and if u go higher than 3" u need long arms or its a terrible ride also 3rd gen tracbar conversion will get ur truck solidified in the front end and centered right trust me going the cheap way sounds fine but in the end nothing but future problems
DirtyDiesel24v I'm only going "cheaper" right now because I DO NOT have the money to go fancy and dump cash.... I do what I can with what I have
IzzaBumminz their is literally nothing wrong with a spacer lift. Especially one this small. I went with a 2 inch and the ride is just as good.
Everyone takes apart the whole front end to put leveling blocks on....I did it by just unbolting the sway bar and dropping the axle down. With no spring compressors Lol, and put in 3 inch blocks.
Colby Greene same dude. I was wondering why they were doing more work than they had to.😂
Colby Greene there was no way it was all gonna fit with dropping it the way we did with the tools we had.
Colby Greene Did you change more then just shocks with the 3 inch spacers?
Maybe a coil compressor would have saved you some time....😂
It's nice to have a friend who's likes shit like that too,and helps you,
Should have rented a spring compressor
ONTHE ROCK all the auto part stores use spring compressors that are for smaller cars. Like a jeep or something. I went to 5 different stores and they all used the same one.
I thought you shut down your account
the fisheye view distorts the picture kinda makes it hard to see the difference another camera would prolly be better. but trucks looking better and better keep it up👍
LOUD 'N' PROUD totally understandable Just mentioning it. What program do you use to edit?
35s will fit
35s will fit with alot of cutting on the wheel wells. 33s fit much better.
Blackout_o3o yeah I'm doing 295 wide 33's... mud terrains... those seem to be what most guys fit pretty easily
im not tryin' to be a total jerk about this but i dont really c a big different sorry but cool truck dude :)
2nd
That truck is super rusty..
even tho white Cummins are gay I totally fucks with your Truck hashtag blessed
I dig your videos.. love your truck, as I have the same one. But JESUS CHRIST THE MUSIC IS F$&@‘N TERRIBLE. WHO TF DRIVES A CUMMINS AND LISTENS TO THIS?!
You lock your truck when it's in your driveway...
Sam Lantz around where I live heck yes... we've been robbed many times...
Thanks for the *LIKES* and comments! Helps growth greatly! FIRST GEN VIDEO UP TOMORROW! 😎😎😎 this is a GOOD ONE!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
LOUD 'N' PROUD looks great actually, I thought it wouldn't change the look of it much & it did. What size wheels/tires are currently on it and what are you going to get? It's not too big and looks pretty good with what's on it.
