I used to get the worst comments, especially as a child and from men. Also it has been looked upon as unprofessional in the workplace. Yuck! Thanks for saying this!
I just love your realness & ease in front of the lens. Not an easy thing to do. I’ve learned & continue to learn so much watching you. Keep the videos coming .
My last job + the summer heat sucked the life out of me, which left my hair very neglected and in poor shape. Now that I've been one-week free of that job, I'm ready to re-start self-care routines that fell by the wayside, including a scalp reset! I have a scalp treatment and a scalp oil that I never use, but now I have better ideas on how to incorporate them! My goal is to set myself up for not only the next job that comes my way, but also the concert I'm attending at the end of next month! I don't need a glow-up, but it won't hurt, either! Crossing my fingers that between your videos I've been binging + following through actual practicing, it'll be smooth sailing once the day of the concert comes along!
New to this channel… first impression, “what is this personality” final impression, down the rabbit hole. I discovered I had curly hair at the age of 40. 40!!! You provide such useful tips! Thank you!
I just have to say-you continue to motivate me to keep trying and keep learning about not just curly hair in general but mine specifically. I’ve learned absolutely so much by watching your videos. You’ve inspired me so so so much and I deeply appreciate you and your videos! So incredibly grateful!!!! ❤ You motivate me and teach me so much and I just want to learn more and more about hair. People like to watch TV shows and movies and let me say I love chilling on the couch with a good TV show BUT watching your videos-I learn SO SO SO SO much which to me (hair being my favorite thing to learn, to do, to wash, everything ❤) and to learn all the different products that are good and bad, and especially watching you make jokes and have fun with everything is so funny and entertaining and watching you and your sister, Amanda is so great you guys are sweet and funny and I just love your videos so much. Thank you. Thank you so so much. ❤❤❤
You have absolutely made my day with this super sweet, super thoughtful love letter oh my god thank YOU Ana, it’s a pleasure to be able to inspire you on your hair adventures ❤️❤️❤️
Seezter no shame in pit hair. Been natural there for a while now and honestly when i shave or wax. i feel like i get more stinky and sweaty. Don't even get me started on the regrowth, SUPER itchy. I know TMI but we gotta stay REAL❣
It's my absolute favorite!! The only product that leaves my porous curly hair perfectly styled EVERY TIME. I had to put my mom on it and she loves it too!
Mell, when you found the bobby-pin…🤣 We never know what we’ll find, right?! Love this reset video! Can you tell us more about the glaze? When to use & other kinds?
As a guy with long curly hair I struggle to find new ways to style my hair at times. I always turn to the same hairdo bcz I have no idea what else I can do. It’d be nice to see how I can spice things up!
You're the best Mell🎉. Such a mine of information and sharing it all with humour - you've got it all!! 😁 I am constantly learning from you (and I'm 65!!) Thank you from Ireland 🇮🇪
You are so cute, lol !! I'm 65 soon to be 66 and when I turn 55 to 60 I stopped having to shave my pits or my legs!! Only down fall?? Well it should be obvious!!, The age your body hair disappears!! Lol. Anyway Mell, I appreciate all that you have been through with your hair. Even though my hair is more like Amanda's, I know the struggle except when I was young we ironed our hair with an actual iron!! So needless to say, my hair was a frizzy mess!! Love watching you. I have learned so much. Thank you.❤
Wait wait wait, that curl foaming gel has changed my hair life and I love it SO much. It's the only hair gel I've genuinely enjoyed using! I also just ordered the volume Bounce Curl brush off your recommendation and I'm so excited! I've been lowkey binging your videos today, thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
U are so good at keeping ur audience with u.. Normally with so much information I get lost and lose interest but ur humour and all the fun moments keeps me interested to the end.. And of course every line u say are pearls of wisdom.. Thank you for all the hard work!! Love u girl ❤❤❤
Tea. I heard tea. 🫖 Doing my reset tomorrow, first time trying purple shampoo for my grey hairs, and new curly moisture antifrizz products for my super-fine, high-porosity coils and spirals. I've learned so much from you...at 60, my curls have never been happier and healthier. 🤍
I freaking looooove you, Mel! 💛 This is my sign to reset my curls! You look gorg and your curls are everything! 🥰 Getting my hair cut in a week. Can't wait!
Hello mel!!! As a massage therapist, you spoke about circulation. Lymphatic drainage treatments, if you have t heard about them, are a great add on for circulatory problems. I'd start out once a month, then go from there based on your goals!! Hope this helps❤❤ love you channel, love your curls, on a hair health journey myself. Lots of love!! Keep being YOU
Thank you Mel! A😊ppreciate all the great tips! Could you do a video tutorial for cutting weight out of back of curly hair? I have loose curls in front tighter coils in back and major shrinkage with a shelf! Triangle head …..please help!
Omg! So had a rough start this morning but as soon as I started watching this you made me laugh and forgot I was having bad day . Love the monthly self love
Would you recommend a clear gloss for uncoloured curly hair? Wondering if it'll help tame frizz in the winter! (or even a coloured gloss? I have greys haha)
New subscriber, just started watching your videos and they’ve been really helpful. I especially like how you explain why a certain ingredient in a product will or won’t work. Question: isn’t steam basically the same as humidity in the sense that it will create more frizz?
About 8 months ago, I stopped using shampoo. I use rhassoul clay about once a week tok cleanse my hair and scalp. My curl pattern, which was stretched from constantly keeping up my hair, has been restored 💜
@@minnitreez333 I thoroughly mix ½ cup aloe juice, ½ cup water, and 2 Tbsp rhassoul clay with 3 drops of peppermint essential oil, and 3 drops of lavender essential oil. I squirt this liquid all over my scalp, and cleanse with a silicone scalp scrubber, then squeeze the liquid through the rest of my hair. I squeeze my hair lengths all over a few times, then rinse. I repeat the whole process, then I rinse again with a VERY diluted mixture of water an about ½ a Tbsp of apple cider vinegar. Then, I rinse out the ACV mixture.
I used clays for a year and it was great. Toddler now so it got too but I absolutely recommend it. My hair health improved so much and I got a curl pattern I never had before.
@@minnitreez333 I wrote a reply, but it disappeared? I mix ½ cup aloe juice, ½ cup water, 2 Tbsp of rhassoul clay powder, 3 drops of lavender oil, and 3 drops of peppermint oil until all the clay is dissolved into the liquid. I put this mixture on a squirt bottle. I squirt my roots with the solution, then wash with a silicone scalp scrubber. Then I squirt the mids and ends, wash lightly with my fingers, and squeeze out the liquid. Then, I rinse with water. I repeat the whole process, then I rinse with a very diluted mixture of water and apple cider vinegar, maybe 2 teaspoons of vinegar to a cup of water. Then, I rinse with plain water one last time. I do this about once a week.
Not only am I learning from you but you are so hilarious and fun to watch. ps... mature lady here who is finally learning how to deal with my curls enough to let my hair grow out some.
Thank you for adding that some of us are a liiitle early in our hair journey to worry about brushes, lol! I recently cut my coarse wavy hair because it was soo stiff and dry and ...I was mad at it, I confess. Then I finally used a chelating shampoo and suddenly my conditioners conditioned. Also, I added Eva NYC's Smoothing Cream and wow, suddenly soft hair. Buuuut unfortunately, my hair is still in a pixie and therefore has limited wave/curl. I'll have to focus exclusively on its health a while longer. Lesson learned.
This video is filled with so much great advice! Thank you for taking the time to make it! Your tips have changed my curls and I couldn’t thank you any more. My question is how would I know if my hair is healthy enough for brush styling - I have been doing it for a while and I am happy with the results and my curl pattern from it but my hair could definitely be described as a little more tame. Maybe that’s just because it’s not nearly as frizzy?
hey mel. how have you been treating your hair differently during the winter? personally, my hair’s been so frizzy and i’ve lost the ‘bounce’ in my curl
Hi, I'm really enjoying your videos! I have learned so much and have watched and rewatched some, taking notes, lol. I have a few questions, please. 1- if a second cleanse is needed, would you use the same Briogeo product or a different gentler shampoo? 2- where in this routine would you apply a blow dry cream such as Redken frizz dismiss rebel tame? Would a blow dry cream also be applied in sections and brushed through like a leave in? Do you apply before the foam gel? 3-would you apply hair oil the next day on your ends? Thanks so much, and happy belated birthday!!! I hope your party was fantastic!
You may have made a video on this - but, could you talk more about how to style your hair without using a brush while you are getting it healthy again? I love your content!!
This is the exact video I needed 🙌🏼 I’ve been struggling with flakiness as well as not being able to remove all build up after every wash. I used to use the wash day delight to clarify by carols daughter but I ran out! I’m not sure if it made much of a difference in my hair though. I’ve really been wanting to focus on my scalp care this year ❤️so I’m going to try some tips & products you used! Any other recommendations, I’d be open to hearing!! ☺️ Also really love seeing your humor in all your videos 😂you always give me a good laugh
That head massager first turned up before you were born and went under the name of the Orgasmitron!! 😂😂 i still have the original one ..... I must dig it out!! It had copper prongs and my seesta and I used to make our heads "shiver." Time to use it again......
Hi Mell, I love you and your channel!! ❤️I recently had cancer and lost my hair. It’s slowly growing back really curly so I’m hoping to have it as healthy as possible. At the moment it’s around 2-2 1/2” long. I purchased a bonnet, continuous hair spray bottle & curly hair products. Can you recommend a more affordable hair dryer and diffuser that won’t get frizzy.
You are a brave woman. Good job! If possible, could you please make a video on regrowing naturally curly hair after chemotherapy? After having long hair my whole life, I lost it all during chemo. My hair is back (thank goodness!), and I now have a curly pixie about 3.5 inches long after seven months. However, it is almost impossible to find anything useful on the internet about getting through the awkward stages back to long because any search that includes "curly" just gets straight-haired women oohing and aahing over their chemo curls. Any advice you can give would be hugely appreciated by all of us coming back from beyond. Many thanks!
I use a pretty cheap oil (vatika) but my hair always feels so good after (I do have to wash twice with it). Sometimes I am too lazy (or depressed) and I end up spreading the wash (Oil and detangle night before, bonnet away, wash next day) over couple days. Acc using oil is the only time my hair looks greasy so it motivates me to wash it where when it's just dry and frizzy I can justify putting it in a rough bun
I love all of your product recommendations! Love my verb foaming gel you created with verb. When going to a new stylist for a trim or cut, should I have clean dry hair with no product, or style with product as usual or go before I wash so I can wash with my new cut?
Can you speak more on oiling before showering with people who have seborraic dermatitis? And maybe even breakage? I have very fine and thin hair that is wavy. I feel like my hair breaks so easily (especially at the crown area) and it can be discouraging for me. I ask about the oiling bc I’m nervous that the weight of the oil would be too heavy for my hair… but I also want to be nourishing my hair and keep it strong so that breakage doesn’t happen. Any tips and tricks to prevent breakage for my hair type would be great! Thank you for all your knowledge and help!
If you don't like the hassle of having to go out for waxing, and you don't want to shave, you might consider at-home IPL treatments. They work wonderfully, and Braun makes a great at-home unit.
Hey Mel- love you and your videos 🥰 How would you recommend to reduce tangles between wash days? My hair gets so, so tangled even with a bonnet/ silk scarf and pillow case
You’re so much fun to hang out with 😊 Thank you for sharing your personality and knowledge! I’m curious how you would recommend incorporating K18 and deep conditioning treatments since you can’t use conditioner with K18? I definitely think my hair needs it all 😂
What about the info on how to avoid the ingrown hairs for when shaving underarms? Lol love the video mell all of it but you said youd explain that and how you managed to do so 💕
You absolutely can!! Use what you got 🙌🏻🙌🏻 just be careful not to burn yourself! Don’t go too close to your hair and use for 1-2 minutes on each side of your head. You decide if you need to add extra product but it typically reactivates what you already have in there!
Can the amount of frizz look different in certain lighting? Cause whenever my hair is dry after washing it already has some frizz but I never seem to see that online. Also I love that your doing different videos other than just hair!
Hi Mell! Love your videos, thanks a lot for your and your sisters’s work! ❤ I’ve learned so much from you I’ve got a question now: why didn’t you use your hair oil(or serum) in this routine? Have you simply forgotten to? Or you didn’t want to do it because it’s a ‘reset’ routine, to not let any build up already? Would love to know the answer) With love, from a teenage curly girl😊
Hi lovely!! So a couple reasons! 1, i went to bed after drying and wanted to keep the cast in my hair while i sleep to help keep the shape a little stronger overnight, but 2 the gel was already pretty soft hold and i didnt need one to scrunch out the crunch. and then 3 i was staying in; if i was going out (into humidity/col/wind) i would have applied some to protect my strands. But yes i wanted to keep it clean :) i hope that answered your question!! Thank you for watching
Instead of using the k18, can you just apply a regular mask and/or conditioner? Especially for someone with really dry ends? Do you follow this routine year-round or only for the winter? Do you recommend and routine for a reset during the summer?
I have a disturbed scalp! I LOVED Aveda's old scalp line and am considering getting their new scalp range. I've tried the treatment and the serum and want to try the shampoo and conditioner. Hoping you can review this soon!! I'm trying to figure out how cleansing their shampoo is. I'm using the BounceCurl clarifying shampoo and it's ok but I still get scalp acne WOMP WOMP.
Thanks for the education and entertainment. Please tell me about h shower head you’re using. It looked interesting and I need a handheld shower head. Thank you.
Excellent! You are always full of information and give so much joy! Amanda does a fantastic job with editing! Question - my hair does not do well with oil, any other products I could use? Thank you! 💗
Who cares about the pits? Anyone who does is just a jerk. It's just hair. Embrace it. We all deal with it. Apologizing for it is just promoting the stigma. You are beautiful. I wouldn't even have noticed had you not pointed it out.
Remember that people can be really weird online. Idc if people in real life see me with hairy pits, but I also would not want images of my hairy pits on the internet.
Hi! So the other times during the month that you wash do you use a regular shampoo and only clarify once a month? Also do you do oil and scalp massage before every wash? ty!
Every time I want to learn more about a specific hair topic/category or I wish I had a tutorial for something, Mell comes through. The timing is impeccable 🤌❤
Hi Mel ❤ Question for you: I recently got curly bangs and I’m struggling to find a good way to sleep and plop with them. Right now I’m not using a bonnet and pineapple-ing the length of my hair in order to keep my bangs out. If I put them in a bonnet they get scrunched up and I have to re-wet them to stretch them out every morning (something I’d like to avoid). Same goes for plopping so I haven’t been doing that at all, though I liked to for about ten minutes prior to getting bangs. Any advice? Thank you! ❤
Just saw you on here and I’m intrigued. I got a perm about 2 or a bit more months ago. Do you suggest doing this routine for perms? I have pretty long hair, 1/2 way down my back. Any other suggestions for me. Thank you for the laughs.
Love this video Mell! But i have a question tho. My the hair on my crown area is another texture, it's more brittle and the curls don't get as bouncy and juicy as the rest of the hair does. Do you have any suggestions to what i can do?
It's comforting to see the normalcy of curly hair - there is hope for me 😅
Omg normal, special, stunning 🫶🏻
I used to get the worst comments, especially as a child and from men. Also it has been looked upon as unprofessional in the workplace. Yuck! Thanks for saying this!
I just love your realness & ease in front of the lens. Not an easy thing to do. I’ve learned & continue to learn so much watching you. Keep the videos coming .
Mell is really a character!! She has charisma, humor and style, all in one. 😂😂😂
Love your personality!!! You always make me laugh and I learn along the way!!
I’m so happy to hear that Elle!! I may not be for everybody but I’m hair for my curl community ❤️❤️❤️
You go, Girl. 😊❤

It made me cut my rebonded hair and embrace my curls,,you really inspired me to be curly again❤❤❤❤

The Verb Curl Foaming Gel is the greatest product I've ever used for fine wavy hair. I always have a couple spares in my bathroom.
I LOVE that for us. So happy it’s become a staple in your routine!! It’s a project I’ll always be really proud of 🧡🧡🧡
It's my absolute favorite!! The only product that leaves my porous curly hair perfectly styled EVERY TIME. I had to put my mom on it and she loves it too!

I discovered a Philips epilator a few years ago, game changing and the hair can be shorter than what you might need for wax to work.
Your skin has gotten so much better!! I would love to see skincare videos😭🙏🏼

Thank you so much I have had a really bad day but you just made my day :)
Wishing you brighter days ahead of you Arianna ❤️❤️ you got this!! Fresh month, brand new energy!
Try laser hair removal. It is a life saver or an epilady (though that has a bit of sting to it)
Can you speak more on oiling before showering with people who have seborraic dermatitis?
The vulnerability 😍
Hey Mel- love you and your videos 🥰
How would you recommend to reduce tangles between wash days? My hair gets so, so tangled even with a bonnet/ silk scarf and pillow case
You’re so much fun to hang out with 😊 Thank you for sharing your personality and knowledge! I’m curious how you would recommend incorporating K18 and deep conditioning treatments since you can’t use conditioner with K18? I definitely think my hair needs it all 😂
What about the info on how to avoid the ingrown hairs for when shaving underarms? Lol love the video mell all of it but you said youd explain that and how you managed to do so 💕
I did buy a facial steamer to help with refresh but I have not used it yet. Had it for over a year so maybe I'll take it out for a spin.
You don’t know what you could be missing out on! This is your sign Cindy 🙌🏻🙌🏻 good luck!!
Such a funny but brilliant video!!!
Do you have an updated video of the shampoos you use for your normal washes??
Use an epilator! Hair free for weeks and you can do touch ups. Much easier than waiting for things to grow out.
Watching your videos weekly is like THERAPY !
btw, can I use clothes steamer for my hair instead of facial steamer ?
You absolutely can!! Use what you got 🙌🏻🙌🏻 just be careful not to burn yourself! Don’t go too close to your hair and use for 1-2 minutes on each side of your head. You decide if you need to add extra product but it typically reactivates what you already have in there!
Love your videos! What shampoo do you recommend for a dry, itchy scalp??
where do you buy your headbands? in other posts, you always have the cutest headbands and i always want to know where they’re from!
What do you use to self tan?? You’re glowing Mell ❤
Can the amount of frizz look different in certain lighting? Cause whenever my hair is dry after washing it already has some frizz but I never seem to see that online. Also I love that your doing different videos other than just hair!
Hi Mel! Did you use a heat protectant in this routine? If not, how come? Thanks😘
I love you back, gorgeous 😊!
❤️❤️❤️ hope you have an amazing month queen!!
@ManesByMell I hope so too since it is my birthday month 😍😘❤️.
Hi Mell! Love your videos, thanks a lot for your and your sisters’s work! ❤ I’ve learned so much from you
I’ve got a question now: why didn’t you use your hair oil(or serum) in this routine? Have you simply forgotten to? Or you didn’t want to do it because it’s a ‘reset’ routine, to not let any build up already?
Would love to know the answer)
With love, from a teenage curly girl😊
I'm using the BounceCurl clarifying shampoo and it's ok but I still get scalp acne WOMP WOMP.
lol oh Mel you would love Florida
Any advice on how to reset hair or what to use if not wanting to buy a bunch of products? Eg. Apple cider vinegar?
Thanks for the education and entertainment. Please tell me about h shower head you’re using. It looked interesting and I need a handheld shower head. Thank you.
❤❤❤❤
Is pre-poo oil still advisable for fine, low density wavy/curlies?
Finding stuff in your hair while washing… I felt that in a spiritual level. 😂
I always got you ❤️
Hi Mel ❤ Question for you: I recently got curly bangs and I’m struggling to find a good way to sleep and plop with them.
