I do appreciate that you let us know what's not necessary when doing these tool reviews. So many times people are saying "you have to get this" when it's not. It's okay if something is a want but not everything is a need. Also the accessibility aspect, 100% agree. Lastly... Anyone else felt like they needed to give Mell some privacy during that Mindflayer Scalp Massager part?
Go watch Julissa Guillen if you haven't already. She has SO many videos for hot tools. It's like 80% of her content at least. And she has a ton of comparison videos like Dyson vs Shark and has a lot of videos for some tools that I can't find other reviews for.
I like these videos. And as far as that microphones stand/hairdryer stand… That thing saved me. I have mobility issues due to rheumatoid arthritis and I wouldn’t be able to blow dry my hair anymore without it❤
I finally gave into brush styling for the first time a few months ago and decided on the tangle teezer and I love it. But the bounce curl brush is one that I am looking forward to trying.
Dear Mell, Thank you soo much for being there. I always get happy when I see your new video. One think that I miss in this video is the rose dingle hopper. It would be nice if you also used the rose dingle hopper to let see what it does.
Where have you been? 😂😂. I have loose baby fine curly hair. As I age, it is also thinning and getting very grey. I have been spending my life trying to find a stylist that can work with my hair. So glad I finally found your channel. Meanwhile, I literally just found my stylist. She took special classes to deal with curly hair. She also recommended Verb Ghost Oil and other Verb products.
I love you too, especially felt grateful for your tips and tricks while in the shower washing my hair, when I realised how long it takes to do it properly and how hectic it must be for anyone making lengthy, explanatory videos about it! So yeah thank you a lot!❤
Happy Texture Thursday!! I've been wanting to buy some of these but I've been waiting for you to review to see if it's worth it so thank you!! Much love and happiness!! Xoxo 😘
I don’t even have curls like this but your personality and content is so fun and crisp! Maybe I can learn to love my natural hair using some of your tips and tricks. ❤❤
I would love to see you try brush styling your curls with a round brush! Nemesis Marie did a video on that and for the record I'm talking about how you'd do it with a Denman brush.
Hi Mel! I've just stumbled upon you. And I've just watched a ton of your videos!!! ❤ I'm just starting my hair care journey, I have tried odd things but your in depth explanations are amazing!!! Thankyou for the tiring efforts you, and your friends behind scenes, go through to provide this! I do have one (maybe two😅)questions though, if you don't have a sleeping bonnet, what are the best sleeping hair styles to wear to bed? And in general what hair styles do the least or most damage to your hair?? BTW, I've subscribed!! Gotta have more of my girl! Warm hugs from uk Liverpool!❤
Thanks for keeping people like me with disabilities in mind. I love the mic stand hairdryer thing! I haven’t used a hairdryer in over a decade because of the fatigue problem.
I swear I was about to add the dingle hopper to my Amazon cart LOL thanks for saving me. I’ll stick with my bounce curl defining brush. I bought the unBrush for my youngest daughter that has straight hair which surprisingly gets more tangled up than my curly hair. And let me tell you , it truly is magic! Never thought about trying it on my dry hair. As always Mell u are the bestest thank you for all you do for your curlfriends 😘
Thanks for the video. Mell your reactions were so entertaining. The only viral products that I am interested in is the Bounce Curl brush and the dryer stand. The other ones looked painful. Looking forward to next Thursday.
The curl keeper flexi brush is very similar to that purple one but with more bristles, it’s been my favorite for years and I’ve tried just about every brush. It detangles amazingly wet and dry and I use it to style
I love your videos, and I am absolutely loving your short hair, stunning! Also can I ask what lipstick you are wearing in this video? I'm kind of obsessed! ❤ Thanks!!!
I good laugh today! Luv ya Mel! 😂😂😂. And btw, I have an actual blow dryer stand I’ve had for probably 12 years and 2 things, I had to add a workout weight to the base to keep it from falling over. And, mine is not tall enough so I put it on a foot stool or a side table. I might try a microphone stand if I ever replace it. Also, I wrap a strip of Velcro to mine so it’s a quick wrap around the handle to make sure that investment of a dryer never hits the floor. My tip for the day. Later!
A video just came up as a youtube suggestion for a brush I hadn't seen before that I would love to see compared to the bounce curl. It's a scrunch it large clumps brush. It looks like it's been around a while but they just changed it (I'm guessing because of bounce curl). I'm hesitant towards the bounce curl because of the size and you mentioned how much tension it uses. It would be okay at the top of my hair but my lower nape hair is already really tight and I have to use almost no tension with the denmen brush to try and even things out.
Hi Mel. I love everything you teach us but I have one question to see if you can help us curly hair women who are "going gray" first time. Anny ideas how to keep it healthy during growout and transition time? And what about shampoos? Since you yourself have gorgeous curly hair and had said yoj had some grays' you may be able to answer this wuestion. Im hust starting my journey fonally and want to take care of my curls in the process. I am going to cut my hair maybe 2" now as im going into my 2 months growth. My hair feels thinner or drier. I think its because as you mentioned about too much wTer and bond products. I dont like the texture now. Its been so pretty snd healthy now looks terrible and wont hold curls. I hope this doesnt affect my growout so this is a question that i didnt find much help for curly dilver hair ladies or support groups. Thank you Mel! Love and a big hug❤
I love your videos! I’m a new subscriber and came across your tutorials because I’m wanting to embrace my curls more! Thank you for all the information for curly girls!
It was like a week before you posted the deep dive on the “bounce curl brush”. I was intrigued.. but i knew i had to see what you were thinking first.. i googled “bounce curl brush manes by mel” & nothing! Then a week later i get a treat, your upload for exactly what i needed hahaa 😂❤
The bounce curl brush doesn't work for me. I do like a lot of tension but I tried this multiple times and the tension is very light for me, even less then my detangling brush, I'll keep trying though.
Hi Mell! Love you & your content so much, you have saved my hair since I started watching in 2020! I would love to see a video on dealing with super super fine curly toddler hair!! My girl wakes up with a giant rats nest every morning 😢any product or maintenance tips would be much appreciated!!! ❤
I use to have one of those scalp stimulators when they were trending like a decade ago and never used it but just a few days ago I was like ***maybe I need one if I want my hair to grow faster*** ;D
I’m genuinely curious. I saw a video you posted with the Bounce curl company owner and you did your brush method with the brush to do her hair. Then this bounce curl brush came out and I thought “isn’t that Mel’s technique???” Is it not? I am so confused.
Would the “dingelhopper” work on refresh days to help spot reclump curls on top layer (maybe using some water or refresh spray and then curling)? I can’t seem to do it right with just my hands so it works right so trying to find a tool that helps create ringlets on refresh days (I tend to get a lot of halo frizz). I was honestly thinking of using one of those knife sharpeners that looks like a sword, or a curling iron with no heat, and then realized that’s more or less what this could be!
Dear Mel. Please can you make a video discussing how to deal with one head, different textures, porosities and curl patterns. I'm growing out from a short pixie, the back of my head has great texture, curl pattern and definition but the middle and front of my head. I don't know how to manage this. Tia
Question! I've been so lost in my hair journey. My hair is probably a mixture of 2b and 2c, dense, some strands are thick, most normal. I swear pregnancy hormones made it all wacky. Its never been colored or bleached but probably has ponytail trained damage. Most times I don't apply any styling products because it gets weighed down easy and I don't find it worth the effort when it results in the same exact shape on day 2 as it would if air dried. It does however knot really easily underneath. Should I be dry brushing my confused type 2 wavy hair at all? That unbrush looked amazingly easy.
Can you please do a video on Scalp oils and which brand is best? I want to use one but not sure what to go for. I also just watched your oil for ends video. There was no mention on argan oil. Is this any good? Would you use this before washing or after? Thank you x
I love watching your videos. You have taught meme how to take care of my hair and my sons lol. Thank you so much. I am saving to buy some of the products you use and for your products. ❤❤❤❤ You and your sister are beautiful smart women
I love your style and your hair looks amazing!!!! Can I ask what cut did you had- is it the round curly cut? My hair is very long and fizzy/course, and I'm going to hairdressers in 2days to have it all chopped 😳 scared. Love your videos, so informative, thank you for your time showing all tips and dos and don'ts ❤ x
I use the cheap TEMU dingle-hopper to put lift at my roots. It's fantastic for that. Of course I searched for the link for the black top...couldn't find it.
Hi Mell! I'm an Aveda user, but I've also love your VERB mousse and bought your microfiber towels!!! Can you HELP with a good heat protector?? Also because of your vids ive now got the banana curls ive always had but never knew how to find! Ty!!!
What about when you have different size curls/waves over your head? I have some tighter ringlets around my face (like pinky finger size). Then my curls get bigger, up to very loose waves at the back and underside of my hair. Should I do different sized sections all over or all the same size sections to encourage my hair to be more uniform?
Could you PLEEEEASE say what is best for very fine hair with waves and curls? 🙏🏻 It always looks like I have curled my hair half way and than stopped it because I get tired.
Just ordered your lo-fi OG head scratcher (went for the 36 finger model though). Your hair had great looking crown volume after you used it which is an ongoing quest and a couple of the reviews also mentioned some curly volume so we'll see. Think I'm going to also give it a try at night before bed as well as styling after seeing you nodding off.
Mell!! I am in desperate need of help! I am basically restarting the transition phase again with my hair. I am 4 months postpartum from having my first baby. I have never had an oily scalp and I’m loosing my curl definition. I can have ok curls for maybe a day? Then things are starting to stretch out. I have thick, coarse strands but now it’s like my hair can’t handle any product on them. I am constantly washing my hair and I am so insecure about my hair. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! And do you know if one my hormones turn to normal sometime if my hair will turn to normal or is this my new normal?
Recommendations for my 3yr old daughter!? She has ringlet curls a lot like you and they are so fizzy and it goes fluffy with her being wild and playing all day etc what products could I use to make her ringlets stand out?
I’m not a fan of the unbrush. I find ir detangled ok but small tangles it glosses right over it. So then I detangle with a different brush. I will say I like it for detangling while having an injury (shoulder). But I still have to use something else. Sigh. Love your videos.
25:46 not me sitting watching your video for product inspiration unbeknowningly also with a broken wrist thinking DAMN I could do with that handsfree hairdrying diffuser stand right about now. My short curls ended up a little eighties poof for my liking after one handed washing/styling this weekend.
I have a question mell! I just cut bangs and i can't seem to keep them overnight, I put my hair in a pineapple and in the morning they just bounce back like they want to touch the sky. How do I preserve my bangs without product refresh every day?
I have been enjoying ur videos and ur fun personality. I have an issue that I'm not sure what to do. I cant afford to go to a stylist. The curly hair pros in my area it's $250 + for a first time appointment. My hair in the back toward the top I have a hard time getting any kind of movement out of it. Any ideas?
Question: I have great waves/curls day one after shampooing. I don't add product, I air dry. But, I wear a CPAP at night. Curls are gone in most but not all places the day after. What's the best way to revive waves in what used to be board-straight baby hair before menopause? I now have wavy/curly hair that I've not had for 50+ years and I have NO idea how to manage it. HELP!
I have wavy NOT curly hair and the medieval round brush is the best tool for me to create rolled curls. Ribbon/brush stealing just doesn’t make my hair pop like it does Mell’s. So while I luv Mell’s videos and advice I have to always keep in mind that just bc it doesn’t work for her doesn’t mean it won’t work for me. 😊. Also, I have the unbrush for my daughter’s long, tangled hair and it really isn’t that great for some reason. I guess another example of different gadgets work differently for different people 🙃
Finally a curly hair specialist that HAS CURLY HAIR!!! I love your videos. Thanks for all your help.
Which "curly hair specialist" doesn't have curly hair? 🤔
@@malloryknox6802 fr 😂😂

I love a hooded dryer, like the old timey sit down kind, very helpful for me in the winter.
Thank you so much for mentioning accessibility!!!! I need a shoulder replacement and cannot reach my head. All the best, Sandi B
You know everyone is going to call that tool a dinglehopper, forevermore
Anyone else giggle their way through this video, between the flail, and the scalp massagers😂
I have been 👏WAITING👏 for someone to compare the unbrush to the tangle teezer! Thank you, now I know I don't need to spend money on another brush 😊
So glad I found this channel!!! Its giving Bailey Sarian but more genuine!
I like these videos. And as far as that microphones stand/hairdryer stand… That thing saved me. I have mobility issues due to rheumatoid arthritis and I wouldn’t be able to blow dry my hair anymore without it❤
Mell, I just love your videos. It can't get any more real, honest and direct than you. 😂 THANK YOU!
I finally gave into brush styling for the first time a few months ago and decided on the tangle teezer and I love it. But the bounce curl brush is one that I am looking forward to trying.
I’m a wavy. I’ve never tried tangle teezer but I love the bouncecurl. My curly daughter tried it too and wanted one of her own.
Did you experience any hair loss with the bounce curl brush? That’s one of my main concerns
@@maggiej616 no I haven't.
I love the conversation about accessibility ❤ also, the "what the fuck" at the head massager had me dying 😂
Dear Mell, Thank you soo much for being there. I always get happy when I see your new video. One think that I miss in this video is the rose dingle hopper. It would be nice if you also used the rose dingle hopper to let see what it does.

Dear god merciful
Things are getting more and more weird and complicated 😃
We need a review of one of those hood dryers please
I love my hood dryer!
I love you too, especially felt grateful for your tips and tricks while in the shower washing my hair, when I realised how long it takes to do it properly and how hectic it must be for anyone making lengthy, explanatory videos about it!

I'm waiting for my Bounce Curl brush. Can't wait to try it!

Hi Mell! Between the Weaponry and the Dinglehopper, you crack me up!! ❤️
I got the Tangle Teezer and the Bounce Curl Brush on your recommendation and I no longer dread wash day.👍 Thanks, Mel!
I actually love using the unbrush to detangle while my hair is wet but my hair is closer to being 4C so I’m sure the extra tension helps.
Happy texture Thursday ❤❤❤

I want a classic wet brush or tangle teaser with the shape and edges of that bounce curl brush. It would be so good for my daughter and i.

bangs having a different height everytime is so relatable lol
Dear Mel.
Please can you make a video discussing how to deal with one head, different textures, porosities and curl patterns.
I'm growing out from a short pixie, the back of my head has great texture, curl pattern and definition but the middle and front of my head.
I don't know how to manage this.

Can you share your blow dryer and diffuser? Or is it an infuser? Thanks
Question! I've been so lost in my hair journey. My hair is probably a mixture of 2b and 2c, dense, some strands are thick, most normal. I swear pregnancy hormones made it all wacky. Its never been colored or bleached but probably has ponytail trained damage. You and your sister are beautiful smart women
I’m old, but I used to use the round brush back in like the 90s (maybe the 80s) to smooth my hair into waves - before I knew my hair was curly.
I use the cheap TEMU dingle-hopper to put lift at my roots. It's fantastic for that.
Of course I searched for the link for the black top...couldn't find it.
"The sensation was sensational" 😂 You're so funny.
Happy Texture Thursday everyone!! ❤❤
Jeez, I don't think I've ever clicked on a Mel's notification this fast LOL
You look beautiful Mel!
Hi Mell! I'm an Aveda user, but I've also love your VERB mousse and bought your microfiber towels!!! Can you HELP with a good heat protector??
Also because of your vids ive now got the banana curls ive always had but never knew how to find! Ty!!!
The microphone stand to hands free diffuse is life changing 😅!!
You just changed my life with the mic/hair dryer stand!
What about when you have different size curls/waves over your head? I have some tighter ringlets around my face (like pinky finger size). I have very fine thin hair. Could you do a video that hones in on the sides to bring curls out more?
I love that top!! I didn't see the link in the description, is it in your amazon store?
Just ordered your lo-fi OG head scratcher (went for the 36 finger model though). I have the round ball looking brush from a long time ago.
Mell…may I ask what your lipstick is…it’s beautiful on you…Luv your videos

I have wavy NOT curly hair and the medieval round brush is the best tool for me to create rolled curls. Ribbon/brush stealing just doesn’t make my hair pop like it does Mell’s. So while I luv Mell’s videos and advice I have to always keep in mind that just bc it doesn’t work for her doesn’t mean it won’t work for me. 😊. Also, I have the unbrush for my daughter’s long, tangled hair and it really isn’t that great for some reason. I guess another example of different gadgets work differently for different people 🙃
