    00:32 Two ingredients to kill roaches
    01:41 Your own effective, homemade roach killer
    02:44 Several benefits of using a borax mixture
    📃 Video Summary:
    Roaches are definitely unwanted guests as they aren't only gross -- they also carry diseases.
    One way to eliminate them is by calling a pest control service, but it's a costly approach. It can also expose your house to toxic chemicals.
    So, if you don't want harmful chemicals and want to save some money, there's a homemade way to kill these pests.
    For this method, all you need is two ingredients: granulated or powdered sugar, and borax.
    Borax or sodium tetraborate is a naturally occurring mineral.
    It's an ingredient in many commercially made cleaners, cosmetics, and even some brands of toothpaste.
    You can purchase borax powder in most grocery stores, often in the soap or laundry aisle. You can also find large tubs of borax powder in hardware and pool supply stores.
    Borax can also come in liquid or spray form.
    However, borax is most effective in powder form because it’s easy to spread, and it sticks better to roaches’ legs. There's often confusion between borax and boric acid - are they the same thing?
    The answer is no. Well, not quite.
    Borax is a natural mineral, while boric acid is the chemical that comes from borax when it’s processed and purified with hydrochloric acid. Borax is the more common household item, but both borax and boric acid will eliminate roaches.
    Roaches usually hide under sinks, in cracks, baseboards, under cabinets, behind refrigerators, and other dark, moist places. You can reapply the mixture as needed until they're all gone.
    Borax also works very much like the boric acid found in commercial pest control products, but it costs a lot less. So you don't need to use expensive, unnatural methods to rid your home of roaches.

    I tried this two weeks ago. I mixed it with peanut butter. And put that into empty bottle caps. And sprinkled the sugar/borax mixture around the bottle caps. The first few days roaches were lining up for the peanut butter. Now I sometimes see one or two eating the peanut butter. But usually the baits are empty. It has reduced the population. But, they aren't gone yet. I do live in an apartment building. So I now need to get my neighbors on board.

    PEANUT BUTTER IS NOT NECESSARY. JUST THE BORAX AND SUGAR. CLEANER, EASIER, AND MOST EFFECTIVE. ALSO, MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE KITCHEN AND BATHROOM VERY CLEAN.

      Imagine them in your home, pooping all over your food and countertops!! I've never had roaches in my life, and just moved into a new place. Omg... It's a nightmare. Luckily they won't get a meal or a drink while I am around.

      Sugar is the bait

    • @emduplessis9996
      @emduplessis9996 Рік тому +5

      Yes, you can use it by itself and it will work. All that needs to happen is for the critter to crawl on it and it will ingest the borax while preening (ir cleaning itself). Adding sugar, powdered sugar, and/or peanut butter is the attractant to get them to surely ingest the borax.

    I tried borax with sugar and its not effective because the roaches dont like the sugar. Now I start to try it out with peanut butter and hope that works

      Quick update. The Borax actually worked! I have not seen a roach in 5 days. All sticky traps are empty! However, I keep going on with the traps and poison due to the eggs maybe still there

      @@SgtPot did u mix borax and peanut butter?

    • @SgtPot
      @SgtPot Рік тому +19

      @@tenzinlhadonchichak yes, I dont know for sure if its the borax/sugar or borax/peanut butter. But after 2/3 weeks spread the borax in the whole house, they are gone! So it Just takes some time. Remember to keep adding 4 till 6 weeks after they gone! Eggs will hatch and you have to kill the small ones. Sorry for my bad english

    • @XeNos3131
      @XeNos3131 Рік тому +4

      You can mix it with mashed potatoes. Roaches love the potato.

    • @Ken-zl4ic
      @Ken-zl4ic Рік тому +2

      @@SgtPot thank you for the update. I have started using peanut better mixed with sugar and boric acid and shoved boric acid under as many gaps as possible. I only see one or 4 at night in the same locations, no where else. Hopefully I can get them dealt with quickly and have my outside area treated also. Problem is the house my neighbor lived in had someone move in and then they had them. Now they have moved and now I have began to see some in my home. I mop everyday, clean all counter tops, cabinets and rooms before night. So no food is prepared to prevent food for them until they starve or die from lack of water.

      Try borax with sugar put into caps and lay them all over the kitchen. Also use roach glue traps put them all over the place in the kitchen also. It’s better to use more then one method if one method doesn’t work the other one will.
