I’m very confused with this pattern, I started off good, but I’m confused about the jumping back and forth with the pattern. I absolutely love the look of this hat. I would love to make this. I think everyone could use a step by step tutorial on this hat.
Truly an interesting hat! Coming from a surgical background, I find that recognising "stitch anatomy" is as important in crochet as it is in surgery! Failed to recognise some important anatomy in my first two attempts, frogged, corrected and think Im getting there! Thank you so much for the pattern
Definitely want to try this pattern. I refuse to make a hat from the bottom up because I hate they way they look all bunched up at the top, but I love making top down hats with their smooth finish. This pattern offers that smooth finish in such an interesting way. Thank you so much for this pattern and video!
I had seen this style hat elsewhere by someone who didnt have time to really explain her pattern and i struggled to follow it. Im so excited for this one! Thank you!!!!
This is the definition of “knit look” in my opinion. It’s so beautiful! Great video, definitely different from other tutorial videos in a good way. Great job ! I will be making this very soon ❤
@@mkshouseI for one found it really really helpful. I’m new to crochet and I was having a hard time understanding the printed instructions. This tutorial made everything crystal clear.
Made one just now, it was a total joy to make! And totally satisfying to see it finished, I love the X shape in the crown! the most interesting hat I've crocheted so far indeed
Amazing! I am definitely not a beginer knitter, however, I am a little intimidated by this project. Your instructions felt a bit hurried, so I have to go back a few times to make sure I am getting what you are doing. (the triangle etc). But, it is so pretty, I'll give it a go....
You are the Goddess of crochet. I have looked high and low for a hat that looks like knit. This hat is beautiful, simple and creates a hat I am proud to gift and sell. I am grateful to you for sharing your knowledge and talents.
Great video-especially about how to keep slip stitches loose! I purchased the pattern and am looking forward to making some of these for my charity group!!💗🧶
This was a delightful project. Your demonstration and written instructions were crystal clear. My neighbor kids all LOVE their new hats. It was easy to make a different colored brim as an experiment. Thank you for sharing this pattern.
Hi, I can’t wait to make this hat. A few weeks ago Imade a hat using short rows, similar but not really. I enjoyed it and love it and most certainly will love this one. I’ve used short rows for tops, accessories, and few other things but this seems so ideal for hats and yet only the second time I’ve seen anything like this. Thank you for sharing the pattern and for all your tips!
Thank you very much for making this pattern available. The pattern really does look interesting. I am hoping to crochet a hat for my youngest son. He does appreciate the effot I put into hand-made items. And we unfortunately have been alienated from each other due to unforseen circumstances, so I try to make special items for him so that he has as much of my love in every stitch that I can put into it. He actually asked me to make a hat for him. He has hopes and plans of starting a YT Channel as soon as he is able. I was searching for a nice pattern, and this one seems to be exactly what I was searching for. Thank you for sharing.
I think you’re right, this is the most interesting hat I’vll crochet. I like this style! I’ll come back later and post a picture;I’m still on Christmas gifts project.. 😊
Very interesting indeed. I have knitted lots of hats, but the one that I have worn and worn for years has been one I knitted sideways (neige eternal pattern) with short rows. It's by far the most comfortable as easiest to knit as there's no awkward part of knitting a circle with just a few stitches. This is a very similar technique and I had never thought of doing the same short rows in crochet, so thank you so much for your video!
Thank you so much for this tutorial I so like the knitted style of hats with this design in the crown but never knew how to make it in crochet. I'm not a very good knitter so this pattern is a God send.
Hi there, I just made a beanie very similar to yours with only slip stitches, by far, yours is so much better. Can't wait to try it out. I love the way you teach and the heads up on potential issue. Its a joy to watch your tutorial and pattern design. Good Job!Take Care!
Recently saw this short-row technique for crocheting a knit-look beanie and I love the format of this video that combines reading the pattern with the hands-on demonstration. It's perfect!! Thank you for putting in the hard work and sharing the success with us. ❤
I just finished this wonderful hat. Like others have said, I did find the pattern confusing, but with a little crochet common sense I was able to figure it out.
You have created a beyond excellent video for this type of pattern. Please use this format again. Save me from trying to translate slip stitch short rows into english, lol. This is fun!
The pattern is wonderful but the instructions are a bit confusing. After doing the first section and then making the shirt rows in the opposite direction I’m confused about going back to the beginning. Some more pictures and a video of you making the the entire hat would be very helpful.
Im in agreement. I love this pattern and making it for two Christmas gifts. However I’m stuck understanding the repetition.especially when video says different instructions. Please help!
Thank you for quick response. I had an A-ha moment & understood the instructions. This is why I love her patterns, they challenge one to think about each step. ❤
I used a similar shirt row “diamond” style pattern last year to make crocheted Christmas baubles. It never occurred to me to try a hat with it! 🤦♀️ I absolutely LOVE it! 🥰😍 thank you so much and your explanation and video were simply fantastic! Love from Scotland ❤🏴
Love this hat so much I wanted to make my grandson one right away! First attempt I had problems, because there are no stitch counts my crown segments became shorter and shorter. I must have been missing a stitch somehow. I ripped it out and started again counting stitches this time and keeping track, and it is turning out perfectly! Thanks for such an interesting and great pattern!
Hi, sorry to bother you but I’m experiencing the exact same problem with this pattern, everything becomes shorter and shorter and I really don’t understand where do I went wrong with it…! Do you remember where the problem was with your project? Thank you for your help! 🙏
@@laurap.9535 I think it was at the crown with all the increases and decreases. The second time I made sure to count ALL the stitches and it worked out fine. I need to make another one soon. What size are you making?

Hi Brittany. This is wonderful!! I don’t recall ever seeing anything like this before. I so much appreciate you taking the time to experiment and bring this interesting techniques to us. Hey Thea! It's always so wonderful hearing from you 🥰 Hopefully this project will restore some of your cro-jo. It really is fun to make! I ended up making 7 of them throughout the designing, and video-making process and didn't get tired of it at all! 😅 Have a wonderful week!

I can't wait to make this beanie! I love the idea of putting it together this way! I usually make them from the top down because I just detest that bunched up messy look that most bottom up hats have when you sew the top closed. But this pattern appears to keep the beanie looking very neat. Thanks for thinking outside the box and sharing it with us. So now I'm off to get the pattern! Happy Yule and a Merry Winter Solstice Season to you and yours!
❤ this. The title is definitely not a lie. But I ❤ challenges. Thank you for adding this pattern, you and all the community into my life. I have made a few. And if I could give a tip... The foundation chain, I used the BLO (Back Loop Only) method, it helped me with the seaming. Thank you so much seriously....
I love this pattern. But I am horrible with reading patterns (which I did buy)- could you possibly do a full video of crocheting the hat to completion? If not it’s ok 😊
I agree, she breaks up the video too many times and makes it very confusing. Also she needs to zoom in much closer so we can find those stitches. All those scrolling pictures back and forth drove me crazy. This hat looks so great. But the video confused me greatly. Perhaps I'm not smart enough for this project.

I made this hat earlier this year from a pattern by Trish Young. She called it the Slow Hat. It is really fun to make but I found that it stretches after washing. I ended up adding a few rounds of front loop, back loop ribbing to the bottom. It is now perfect.....even for the winters in Fairbanks, AK.

I love this pattern and once you get the hang of it it’s super easy and quick. However I am STRUGGLING with keeping my slip stitches loose ESPECIALLY with the ribbing. I have to pull the stitch loose in order to get my hook in
Thank you for sharing this pattern and technique. I have a question though. How do you make a color change in the middle of a row when working sith slip stitches? Normally I start the stitch with color 1 and end the stitch with color 2, but with the slip stitch this is not possible. Any tips?
I couldn't figure out sizing. Mine came out too small & the top had a bulge in a stitch that stuck out no matter how I tried to close the stitch. A tutorial on how you close up top would be nice.

Love the hat and the tutorial!
Love this. Great looking hat.
I can't read patterns so I would need a full tutorial
I found this pattern interesting. My only qualm is what you mentioned; the light background and yarn. My eyesight unfortunately is not what it once was and it made it difficult to see everything you were doing. Thank you for a beautiful video nonetheless. It is amazing!
Really cool pattern. Good work, good video thanks
This is a cool looking hat! Thank you!
Lovely pattern and tutorial, thanks! 😘
Now this is an interesting hat pattern! Definitely going to give it a try! ❤
I really like this pattern, I just don't understand how to do Row 3. Could you please help me? I would greatly appreciate it and you. Thank you so much! Have a great day!
I made something very similar from another UA-camr about 8years ago…it’s gorgeous when you use two different color yarns.
Was it Woolpedia?
I would to see how they did it in 2 colors, do you remember the youtube channel?
I love it! Thank you for sharing…🤗
i tried a technique something similar to this! because i wanted that knit look seam at the top lol
