Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have made one for the hubby and am making one for my daughter. I love the pattern and the overall look. I have set a goal to make at least 100 to donate to the homeless in 2023.
Hey that is what I am doing! I have a lot of yarn and so I thought I’d make beanies for the homeless too😃. I’ve made 2 so far, not this pattern, but I definitely will use it for the rest. I love this pattern the best of the ones I’ve come across. Love the top. Thank you!!!
This is the best tutorial to make a ribbed hat without having that weird bunching in the top. It almost looks worked in the round without being worked that way. I already made one hat for my husband, and he loves it. Two family members now want one as well.
Use a stitch marker and pay attention to directions! This is a terrific pattern. So professionally written and executed in this tutorial. This will give you new crochet skills.
yoooo my husband loves this hat!!! he hasn't taken it off since i gave it 😎 now one for me 😎 highly recommend this pattern, the shaping technique is super easy once you get used to slip stitching loosely. i know i'm going to start using short row + slip stitching to get the shape i want in other projects. do it!!!
Wow! Thank u! It's so impressive how u thought to taper and taper again the top stiches. I've not seen that before on other videos. I also love how u made the hole disappear. Your instructions were clear, and there was no annoying music. Awesome video 🤗
I am an experienced and accomplished crocheter but have never seen this method for a hat. Very clever and a brilliant result. Your tutorial is so clear and camera work excellent. Congratulations and many thanks! ❤
@@marygunter9614 use medium worsted. It is true it doesn't look like bulky and more looks like medium. You can also check your gauge it will be even better
Oh my goodness, this is exactly what I was looking for! My best friend (a guy) is a snow plow operator... I've made knit hats for him, but have been wanting to try crochet... I've been looking a a simple pattern that is suitable for both men and women, but specifically suitable for men! THANK YOU! Subscribed 😊
Thank you for this video! I thought I understood how to single crochet but this tutorial proved that I was missing every other stitch! I tried for hours and couldn’t understand how my rows were getting so short after I measured the chain! I got three rows in and had to frog it several times over trying to figure it out! Now I definitely won’t ever forget how to do single crochet and where to insert my next stitch. It’s 3am now and I’ve just figured out my mistake, so I’m going to start again tomorrow and I’m determined to make this hat. Tomorrow I will have a hat! Thank you for this tutorial, I have learned a lot from my mistakes, and I’m so excited to see if I can do it!
I have never seen a hat done this way! It is an excellent design which doesn't leave bunching at the top. I am making some of these hats for those in need. Thank you for sharing. .
Just finished this using lion brand scarfie yarn which lessened the number of overall stitches and gives it a wonderful stretch. By far the nicest pattern I’ve worked with on a hat yet…made for my son-in-law. Thank you for the great tutorial ❤
Made this hat for my partner! Feels super sturdy and was easy to accomplish (although I made a few mistakes along the way, it was easy to go back and fix!) Thank you so much for this !

I got a long really well with slip flip single crochet repeat. I tried a lot of different stitches but that pattern worked the best to keep it uniform ❤ Thank you for this video
I posted this video to my Facebook group for crochet and knitting, I hope you get a lot of hits from it. It take a lot of work to put these things together. Thank you
Hi Johnnie. Thank you so much for your support. If you are looking for more crochet hat there is my second channel for crochet only ua-cam.com/channels/7xZDMOSlr51jHsWqKyJdfA.html You are very welcome!
I did 46 cm18.1 inches, but my top looked wider than yours. I used regular yarn to practice on, since I ordered wool and it won't get here til 15 of Dec 2023. It was fun and easy, but haven't sewn it together yet. Thanks for an easy pattern. Oh my, I'm going to do this often.
I made this for a Christmas present for my nephew, it was not hard to do at all I love the way it turned out. He thought I brought it. Making the slip stiches was a little bit difficult at first, but after about 5 rows I found out I was a little to tensed. Thanks very much!
Thank you for this very clear tutorial! I've been crocheting for 50 years and always felt too intimidated to make something to wear. Till now, I only made blankets and scarves. This turned out amazing! You're a fantastic teacher! Now it's time to make one for the whole family.

Thank you for this video! I’ve made two hats already and plan to make more. Your instructions are very clear and everything turned out to my satisfaction! 😊
The beanie turned out beautiful. I had to change a few things because the slip stitches really made the ends really tight and hard to knit. So I used a double and single crochets to make things a bit easier. Otherwise, very clear instructions and worked really well. Thank you very much.
Beautiful work; thank for sharing. I am a good knitter but crocheting is not so easy for me to learn. I am 83 years old and am trying to make beanies for my two grandsons 20 and 21 years old for Christmas.
The slip stitch part was toughest, possibly I am skipping this pattern for a different one.I somehow kept making the slip stitch tighter even inspire of so many tries.Thank you though..will surely try it sometime
Thanks so much. I like the pattern because can take yarn with me anywhere and crochet the hat without worry about having to refer to a pattern. It is nice looking and very adaptable to change sizes. It looks good on anyone! Thanks again. 3:41
Thank you for the tutorial! It was easy to follow even though I am a crochet beginner and a non English speaker! Just made it for my brother and he liked it. I would love to make some more for myself and family. Big thanks from Japan.
Really great pattern, I love the shaping of the top, I made one from dark grey alpaca and merino yarn and it is fabulous, looks macho but OMG, so soft and luxurious, will keep his bald head snug this winter.🥰
This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL hat. You explained it clearly and I can't wait to make one. I love the way you created the top and how you showed how to sew an invisible seam as well. Excellent video! Thank you! 🙂

Hi, I'm using your pattern right now and am absolutely loving it! I just wanted to point out, your written pattern says: "Row 3: Ch 1, 41 sc blo, 5 sl st blo, 5 sl st, turn."
