CROCHET TUTORIAL: Stretchy Knit Look Beanie
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- In this video we're going to learn how to crochet this cosy knit look beanie. It's quite stretchy, so it's going to fit a variety of head sizes.
For this pattern you're going to need:
a 5mm (or H-8) crochet hook
some medium thick yarn. I’m using Drops Air (not sponsored) which is a blow yarn made of 65% Alpaca, 28% Polyamide and 7% Wool. I used about 80 grams of this yarn.
a yarn/wool needle to weave in the ends
and scissors

I am super impressed! ❤The written instructions AND the diagram were top notch! I could pause the screen or crochet along with you. For those upset about the music, just mute your sound. Thank you for sharing your gifts and especially for free. ❤❤❤❤
This seems like such a great tutorial!! Thank you for taking the time to do this, I really love that you have the written pattern on the screen as well so you can just pause and read the pattern and go at your own pace🙌
This is a beautifully designed crochet hat. It looks warm and cozy, something I would love to wear. Thank you for the video showing how to make this hat.
Love your hat tutorial. Especially like the 2 slip stitch together m brilliant. Love the way it blend seamlessly. Thanks for sharing ❤
I wish I saw your tutorial before I wasted my time with the other tutorial. I have given up doing this hat until I saw your tutorial.
You are excellent and the best of all. I like the diagram showing the stitches you are making.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This comment made my day 😍 I’m so glad the tutorial was helpful 🌸💕
Excellently demonstrated and explained, and a lovely hat! Thank you!
I will making this pattern over and over again - I’m absolutely in love with the finished product. The slip stitch creates a very luxurious feeling and sturdy stitch. So happy with my beanie!!!
Thank you so much for this video! I have so many UA-cam videos of this pattern but no one has shown the full process past row 13. The diagrams and written pattern make it so easy to follow. Again thank you from a beginner crocheter.
I really like this. Definitely going to try it. Thank you so much for the clear instructing.
The best tutorial for this kind of hat, hands down . For those annoyed by music or lack of a voice over, there are many other tutorials explaining this technique all over UA-cam. There’s also a mute button that’ll take care of any sound.
And it’s ok you still get views from whoever clicks on your video, even if they leave mean comments.
Again, great tutorial, thank you.
Thank you. Very nicely demonstrated. So patiently and precisely done. Good bless you. ❤🙏
Thank you so much 🥰
Very beautiful crochet i like the stitch.
excellent instructions. thank you.
I really appreciate this super well produced crochet tutorial. Nice work! I will definitely make this nice hat when I source the right yarn.
I love this hat...
The pattern, the music, the color, the yarn, the music, THE NAILS!! looooove this video, now, I have to practice more my slip stitch... I hate that stitch but I love the look so one day I will master you slip stit😋ch! you hear me? ONE DAY!!

Big like 👍 very nice sharing
English is not the mother tongue for many crafters and some might not speak enough to explain or describe what is involved in the craft
I am grateful she is showing a technique that makes the crown of the hat not bulky
This is soo beautiful and helpful will be making this for Christmas, thank you🥰
✨ 🌸 Lovely, it’s a perfect gift for Christmas!
Different lay out but a very, very nice one!! Great instructions, making three already!! :)
I love this tutorial! is there a way to make the hat a smaller size?
Thanks wil Larry this hat for my daughter 10 years in a few days
Wondering if there is a way of doing horizontal colour changes using this stitch?
Thank you ❤😍🥰!!!
Hi, sorry I,ve one question. When I had to repeate row 1 to 24 for the second time. The row one is only 60 chain to make or is like the row 1 in minute 0.54 (gran the yarn and pull it through the last 2 loop ecc)?
Also, i dont have the same number of chain like the first one, is it a problem? Why?
Please let me know
Can you use red heart yarn for this?
Thanx fr writing i got so confused in other videos
I tried it, but my stitches are tight. Yours look soft.
Awesome pattern, it’s just really small. I think it’s meant for a child
For row 17, do you increase in the last stitch in the previous row?
Do you need a multiple of any number if you want to make less chains? the brim is a little too wide and I want to make it a bit shorter
Hi!! Do you know the yardage you used for this? I have a single Hank of hand-dyed wool but it’s only 200yds
I used about 208 meters... I believe that's about 227 yards. Maybe if you make the stitches a bit tighter using a 4 mm (G6) hook, 200yds might work
@@pariah.handmade thank you! I’ll give that 4mm hook a try then!
Unfortunately mine turned out way too small and I don’t know what to change, so it will be bigger. Do I have to use another yarn? What was the size of your yarn?
Same 🥲
Oh :( Try to size up on the yarn and hook and also don’t make the stitches too tight. The foundation chain should measure 34 cm (60 chains)
What is the number of this particular color? 52, 39? It's so beautiful! Thank you for a wonderful tutorial.
Hi! 🌸 I believe I used 39.
@@pariah.handmade Thank you so much :)
Hi in the first 1_2 round how many chains (back loop) did you make?
I made a foundation chain of 60 I believe
@pariah.handmade thank you
Which pattern is this please?
6:30 m stuck here couldnt get how to do ;(
I tried this given all the comments about how easy this was to make. The instructions you follow along with are not even correct. Frogging the whole project and picking a different tutorial. Not sure if most of the comments below are friends and family because not that many people can be wrong like that. EX: 4:45 Rows 7-12 says repeat rows 1-2 three more times...that would mean repeating making a chain and going back down it when the picture in the video shows decreasing height. Just not worth the glaring issues and frustration to figure out where the written instructions are wrong.
😊😊😊
What if my first quarter turns out to small?
Are you making the stitches too tight perhaps? Try using a larger hook, maybe even a thicker yarn. You can also add a couple of extra rows if that doesn’t help.
Row 13 there is a misspelled word "och" I. The third bullet point. What should the word be, please? You might want to correct that word. Thanks!
“Of” the row
What size is this pattern please? Length and width?
Length 34 cm, width 23 cm
@ thank you!
I’m not understanding how to make mine look like yours for rows 19-24 when you have to repeat 17-18 three times. My piece isn’t tapering in like yours… there’s just gaps there.
Hope this helps someone! After spending an hour rewatching this video and scratching my head, I found another video that better walks through why my piece wasn’t tapering in (ua-cam.com/video/DAZ1rt_ZOZU/v-deo.htmlsi=BmEpe68zkZk0DRbA). You have to decrease the number of stitches from the end by 2 .
@@zanettaaa I’m happy you found help through another video 🌸 Let me know if you get stuck again and I’ll try to help.
@@pariah.handmade so it is basically that for 19-24 we increase by 2 instead of decreasing by 2?
@ Yes, you increase by 2
My baby boy is 3 years old, can you please say how many chains i should start, what hook, and measurement please
Hello. How many grams of yarn did you use?
Hi! About 80 grams. There is more info in the description :)
@@pariah.handmade okay. Thank you
Hey,don't you have a written pattern perhaps?
@@monalisa-zi7gu No, sorry!
Just write down what she has written on the screen. The written pattern is on the right side of the screen throughout the entire video
Music is to much I am so sorry for sounding mean . I wish you had talked through it instead of the sound.
English is not the first language of many crafters
I agree 😢
You can write the instructions or go slower and leave out the music it's overwhelming for beginners
I disagree, I love this tutorial the way it is and wish they produce more tutorials like that!
I agree!!
Very confusing video, especially the 1st row. I have made hats using short rows before but wish this video was verbal.
It is a foundation single crochet. Much stretchier than just a chain.
