I would strongly suggest that if you are going to take magnesium supplements to do so at night before you go to bed. I used to take all of my supplements in the morning and then I would be so tired during the day and I didn’t know why. Taking magnesium at night before bed was a game changer for me.
Same here. I actually take them at dinner to be sure to get fat and water to absorb them. I’m also very very very forgetful in the morning. So it’s a win win.
I take a magnesium powdered drink at night to help me sleep. It works well for me.:)
Yes that is the truth it gives u a good night sleep
Same, I got Lif-flo magnesium lotion, my RLS disappears when I use it and it does work better in evening, so I’m not falling asleep too soon. This helps me in so many ways💕 thank you

I have been taking magnesium supplements for about 25 years and I have not had any chronic pains except in injuries!! And I feel great!!
Thanks for sharing
Which magnesium do u take?
Can you crush the pills and make a cream. I have a friend with his toes broke

I've dealt with severe pain for decades. I was anorexic & after I began eating daily it took me over a year to realize I was eating the wrong foods. I'm still allergic to milk, beef and soy. Magnesium has helped my pain levels to go down a lot along with the diet changes. And helps my sleep a lot. I did have neurosurgery in March & it helped get rid of about 40% of my overall pain. But I had been malnourished big time. Eating correctly & taking supplements has changed my life drastically.
I just learned it's oxalates that I'm extremely sensitive to. That's my problem. 50+ yrs of pain and not 1 Dr could figure that out or that I'm autistic.
T. B....may I know what type of neurosurgury you have?Where and what did the dr. done?I'm from South Africa and never heard about surguries on neuro/nerves.My English is not perfect...but try to let me understand this...thank you so much
Carnivore Doctors..Anthony Chaffee MD & Shawn Baker MD. 👍
May I ask what is neurosurgery and how did they determine you needed it?
Have you tried raw goats milk? Many who are allergic to milk are so because we're drinking low quality supermarket milk. Goats milk us highly digestible and enzymatic whole.
After having mild but persistent pain in my hip and lower back for months, I suspected that I night be magnesium deficient. Watched your video and it was confirmation for me. I took magnesium glycenate: and two days later the pain is GONE. I came here straight away to let you know!! I'm watching all of your series on back pain, etc. Thank you, new subbie here!!
I use magnesium for that exact thing. It works wonderfully well! I mix a tiny bit in a glass of cold water and those awful, scary random flutters calm down.
🙌 yes! Glycinate for Leaky Gut!
How much ? I have necrosis
@@chaimomma9198 Really!? You mean like curling?
Which brand did you take
I simply want to thank you for being such a clear educator in the medical field. I find your advice precious so, once again, thank you!
I have IBS and have found taking Magnesium has changed my life.
The form of magnesium is very important. The Magnesium Glycinate form is more readily absorbed and the side effects are minimal if they exist at all. It's more expensive, but really worth it! Read the supplement label and get the one without the other forms of magnesium. I no longer have migraines and no loose bowels (which I had with the cheaper magnesium oxide), and I sleep much better! Thank you, Dr. Furlan!
Did you get diagnosed for magnesium deficiency or just go for it? My migraines are getting more frequent I just want a fix without dinking around wirh referralsand blood work. Someone told me about Mg the other day so I'm here. Sleeping more soundly and through the whole night would also be a plus. Any correlation with caffeine and your migraines?
For me it was unbelievable , this was what was missing as a supplement , my pain magically went away .
What type of magnesium did you take?
@@traceyc2576 I have used magnesium
malate for 5 years with good results.
I have just come across your videos. I LOVE how they are all so clear, easy to understand and you get straight to the point. Excellent and easy to apply information. Thank you!!!
Thank you for these very encouraging words.
Thank you for your views on magnesium I have a clear idea about its benefits I have been taking it for a week's and l can make the difference
Thank you Dr Furlan that was extremely helpful and informative.
You're most welcome!
And magnesium was the only thing that stopped the post herpetic pain a family member had for 20+ years after Shingles. She began taking magnesium for muscles spasms but we realised it was relieving her shingles pain. When she ran out of magnesium the pain would come back. When she started it again, the pain went away.
Hi what kind of magnesium did he take?my mother also suffers now from nerve pain because of shinglws, may i know what magnesium did take to ease the pain nerve thank u
I suffered from migraines for many years until I read an article of a woman who used Magnesium for her migraines and it helped. I bought it and took it 3 times a day and still
do because I never had migraines again.
Hi Kelly, I'm preparing a video about migraines. I'll talk about prevention of migraines with magnesium.
How much magnesium do you take to prevent migraine?
How much do u take? I get headaches so many times.... and how long it took for u to get rid of headaches
I m gonna try magnasium glycinate
My doctor told me to start taking this. This was informative. I just ordered some and will get on them Thank you.
I began taking magnesium malate or glycinate a few years ago due to eating a ketogenic diet due to diabetes. As a wonderful side effect my migraines became far less, muscle pain decreases quite a lot, and my BP doesn't have as many swings. We found it helps my husband with pain, and stress issues he had. It also helps him sleep better. There are two vitamins that I notice reduce my muscle pain, magnesium and vitamin D. They make a big difference. Other vitamins do help, but magnesium I never want to be without again.
@radicallyforjesus Vitamin D very helpful to me as well in combination with magnesium. Slightly off topic but some new formulations of curcumin I'm finding very helpful relieving pain--for me it took a few months before I noticed it. I hope the good doctor can get around to covering the pros/cons of curcumin. I'm finding you gotta do "all the above" to make any noticeable/helpful difference, take care all
I also take magnesium, D3, raw turmeric, cayenne pepper pepper and garlic, apple cider vinegar, olive oil and some other things. I really thought i was dying when I started but now I'm only sore in my hands. Zinc helps also.

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I have suffered from rheumatoid and osteoarthritis since I can remember. I am 82. I fell on my right hip 20 months ago and have gone through a series pain management to no avail. I am finally feeling better since I starter taking magnesium which has certainly given me a significant easing of pain which helps me to remain able to function on my own.

Here it is 1:11 AM and I woke because of physical pain from being on my feet for 6.5 hrs prior to bed. I had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia many yrs ago yet I believe it is more from issues of the diabetes curse. I have been taking many supplements and more recently added Magnesium. I am so blessed to have come across your posts and look forward to keeping up with your past and future informational posts. May God's divine blessings and favor continue to be upon you Dr.
I’ve found being off gluten completely reduces symptoms. It takes about a week.
This solved your pain
Magnesium will also help you with your diabetes.🤩

Thank you, good information, stay safe.
Thank you! I have watched many videos on magnesium for pain by different educated people but your video has explained the different types of magnesium supplements far better than most. You gave factual information, good sources of information and explained it in detail. I have CFS, Fibro Myalgia and diabetic neuropathy. I eat a fair number of the foods that you listed that have a good source of magnesium yet I still have all the signs of deficiency. I think it's due to all the medications I take. I think adding the magnesium Glycinate taken in the evening would be a good option for me. My leg pain and feet pain is far greater when trying to sleep. I understand this video was for informational purposes only.
Awesome video, thanks so much! Subscribed 👍🏼
Awesome, thank you!
Great video....I've been researching mg online, yours is very much the most informative. New sub!
Doctor, your videos are sensational, your visual board is wonderful
I was plagued with some screaming cramps due to arthritis in my feet that persistently woke me up at night. A wonderful MD suggested magnesium which was life-changing for me.
Thank you so much for your presentation which I have forwarded to someone else in need. I am a grateful subscriber. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for sharing!
I hadn't realised the arthritis in my feet was actually psoriatic arthritis. I've been taking Mg for other reasons but yes, the pain in my right heel mostly stays away.
@@spacechampi0n j
I started with a topical magnesium , Theraworx, effective but needs a few minutes before the cramps stop in my feet. Learned later about supplement pills, recommended daily dose worked, cramps now rare, infrequent.
I keep the Theraworx still, for that rare cramp moment.
I use magnes active 300mg under the tongue. My cramps vanished within 5 to 10 minutes. Magnes direct 400mg can also be used.
I like using magnesium “calm”.
Thank you for your wonderful information

🤗 Dr Andrea Furlan, I bought some Magnesium but I'm afraid to take it because I fear it will give me diarrhea. It's 250 mg, and on the back the of bottle Supplement Facts says it is Magnesium(Magnesium Oxide) and Other Ingredients list Magnesium Stearate, Triethyl Citrate & about 7 other ingredients. So I want to know if the Citrate, Stearate or Oxide will cause diarrhea or loose bowels, because I don't have a problem with constipation. Thank U for the video.

I was able to completely eliminate the 6-12 migraines per month I was getting. I started at 1500 mg and titrated down to 250-500bmg daily. I haven't needed to fill a prescription auto-injector for migraines for 3 years.

I have taken the prescribe pain killers, but I am still suffering. I watched this vid/post last night and took your advice. The supplement was magnesium taurate, 2 tablets, also 1 this morning. That was really interesting. Thanks. Just looking on Cronometer it seems very easy to get up to the daily amount and at under a 1000 calories too. I took 15g of raw cacao because it's non dutched and therefore froths very effectively in a milk frother, especially using organic, unsweetened soya milk (250ml). Two medium slices of whole wheat bread and 200g of baked beans. Milled flax seeds 10g...the sprouted type are especially good. Then sweet potato and carrots 150g each and 150g each of broccoli and cabbage. That's 965 Kcal and approx 420mg of magnesium. Incidentally that also gives well over 100% of Phosphorous, iron, manganese and copper and nearly 100% of calcium, potassium, zinc and selenium, not to mention most of the daily vitamin requirements and a great omega 3 to omega 6 ratio. In the UK that's very inexpensive food especially at those small quantities
You are a wise man!! I like Your ability to compile a list & eat those things to nourish the body. Wonderful!! Thank You & Bless You for making such a great example!
also BRILLIANT to point out IF a person ate FOOD we would not need any 'meds' to further bring imbalance, excesses & deficiencies into our bodies. That will NEVER be corrected with (spelling does not count - You know what I mean :-) ) metroprolol, omperazole, thoroxin, statins etc etc etc....
EAT FOOD! Be well!!
Unfortunately most commercially grown vegetables are lacking natural minerals due to the methods used to grow them. Soils are depleted of natural minerals and so farmers are using fertilisers to grow. As well hydroponics, where they use fertilisers and so the vegetables are lacking in many minerals usually found in organically production.
Then there's the pesticides and other chemicals used to get picture perfect uniform products on the shelves.
This is also the case with meats.
Unless you're eating organic foods and non GMO it's a loosing battle....
Synergy is basically the theory of multiple nutrients needed to be ingested because they need to be able to work together. Taking a magnesium pill could drive down other nutrients in your body that are low already causing disease. If you are well to do or have a relative that loves to garden you would be best to grow green vegetables especially vegetables such as broccoli to get the multiple nutrients that are needed. Increasing your magnesium without maintaining proper potassium levels could be a dire problem
Well done presentation.................
Thank you for giving this valuable information I am also interested to know how magnesium can affect hypertension.
You are most welcome
Mag is the most important factor in hypertension. Mag deficiency makes excess minerals (mainly calcium) accumulate in soft tissue, which restricts blood flow between different areas and directly causes hypertension. Cholesterol is 100% meaningless. Hypertension and heart disease are all about mag deficiency.
