    Food for nerve pain: food rich in omega 3 fatty acids( fish-salmon,tuna, mackerel,herring, -fish oil), fruits (berries), grains(brown rice) nuts (walnuts,almonds,brussel,peanuts), beans( black, pinto, lama),meat( chicken,turkey), veggies(brocolli,spinach,kale,potatoes etc) Food to avoid: alcohol, sodium, food high in sugar( candies, juice,cakes etc), unhealthy fats, caffeine( aggravate nerve pain) .     Awesome video, Doc Andrea.
    Here are some of the best foods to incorporate into your diet to help improve nerve pain:
    - Fatty fish like salmon, tuna, sardines, and mackerel are rich in omega-3 fatty acids which have anti-inflammatory properties and can assist with nerve regeneration
    - Leafy green vegetables contain magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin C and E which are vital for proper nervous system function and can help calm nerves
    - Fruits, especially low-glycemic ones like apples, berries, oranges and grapes, provide antioxidants that reduce inflammation and soothe neuropathy pain
    - Nuts such as cashews, almonds and walnuts are rich in vitamin B which supports healthy nerve function
    Whole grains like brown rice, oatmeal and quinoa are high in fiber which helps with inflammation
    - Lean proteins such as chicken, turkey, tofu and beans are high in vitamin B12 which keeps nerves healthy
    Avoid foods high in sugar, fried foods, gluten, excessive alcohol, and caffeine which can aggravate nerve pain.

    Broccoli, spinach and asparagus all contain vitamin B, a nutrient important for nerve regeneration and nerve function. Spinach, broccoli and kale also contain a micronutrient called alpha-lipoic acid that prevents nerve damage and improves nerve function.

    I was on oxycodone for the last 10 years. I've tried everything from vegan to low carb. I finally went full carnivore two years ago and lost 50lbs and was able to cut down 90% on pain meds in the first 6 months. I went back to low carb and gained 40lbs and all pain returned. Going back to the Lion diet. Telling people to eat grains when they have nerve pain is crazy to me. I get an immediate pain response within 5 min of eating any grains.

      Hi. I experience pain after eating or drinking , even after I take my medicine. I thought it was in my head. I have some pretty extensive nerve damage, lower back, and lower legs and feet. Also I have some paralysis in the upper thigh and pelvis . Im in constant pain and experience muscle spasms as well . Having no feeling but pain is crazy 🙃

    Dr My own experience with neuropathy I am diabetic since last 24 years ,plus had fall from a galloping horse leading to pain in lower back and neuropathy pain in my left leg this happened when I was 25 years old at 40 landed up with diabetes and when ever my sugar levels remained high for few days the neuropathy pain in my left leg would trigger off , the best remedy that helped me was eating turnips,both raw in salads and as cooked vegetables,but it becomes and issue if I have neuropathy pain in summers then turnips are not available, then I have to bear it and increase my insulin dose to bring down my sugar levels fast .

    Include:
    Omega 3 - cold water fish (tuna, salman,mackerel), Chia or flax seeds, or supplements
    Berries and grapes
    Whole grains - oats, brown rice, etc
    Nuts- walnuts, cashews, hazelnuts, etc
    Beans/legumes
    Meat - preference to lean meats e.g. chicken
    Vegetables
    Avoid:
    Alcohol
    Sodium: limit to ---
    High in sugar foods
    Unhealthy fates e.g. fries things
    Too much caffeine

    Hi Doc, i was so happy to come across your channel. I suffer from Trigeminal Neuralgia and have been on tegretol for almost ten years. Now i take tegretol and Gabapentin which is destroying my life completely due to how they make me sleep and forget things. i will definitely make effort to eat the way that will help. I loved chocolate so much and had to stop because it triggers the pain. Thank you so much. I wish you could say more on this disease.

    I appreciate what your advise, this is my personal experience over the past 8 years and its PEESONAL. If i est any grain whether whole or not, i have severe flare ups, fruits that have a lot of sugar, Milk, whether whole or mon fat, all these foods severely affect my sciatic pain negatively i avoid these foods like the plague, i use meat fish eggs and good oils, butter and veggies. Pain free no flare ups. I have tested this many times over eight years.
    I learned thst carbs sre converted to sugar in the gut.
    Personally my experience ❤

    You have explained some of the pains I have. I didn't know it was nerve pain. Adding these foods should definitely, I pray, improve and decrease my pain. I have fibromyalgia and anything that can reduce my pain naturally is great. Thank you. So glad I found you.

    Beans have 41 grams of protein in one cup.
    In blue zones areas, we found that the longest-lived people eat a full cup of beans every day. One study found that for every 20g intake of legumes (beans, peas, etc.), the risk of death fell by 6 percent.

    Years ago my Dr. had me eliminate all forms of potatoes, and other raw nightshades. This was hard at first, however it helped a lot in toning down my pain.

    I had this issue. Doc gave just ointment to rub on foot. After one year i stopped ointment. Then i started doing a a 5 mins massage - After 6 months wala - problem solved.

    Fruits, nuts, vegetables - all from the list i can tolerate and even within them very few! 🤦‍♂️ Lettuce, walnuts, hazelnuts, bananas, kiwis, berries, thats it, _that is my full diet_ ! Not what i really like to eat, but pain is way more stressing than a lite bit of better taste. 🙏

      @@DrAndreaFurlan hello doctor, I have peripheral nerve damage from chemotherapy 6 months for lymphoma non-hodgkin I have numbness in my feet and hands, I walk I hike I eat right it just don't go away it's almost six years now oh, I don't know what to do with this time, I take multiple different vitamins all the B vitamins collagen you name it I take it I eat very healthy all the fish no sugar no carbs, I don't know if it'll ever heal and go away, tingling and numbness in the stabbing pains are still going on

I've had a neurological issue for years and have had everything under control until this pandemic and everything that went with it. I have been suffering a lot, and do eat the foods that you recommended but maybe I don't have enough in my diet. Your explanations are wonderful!     I experienced neuropathy from Lyme disease. I had full aching and electric shock type of pain in my arms and legs. Thankfully, it went away by treating Lyme.

    Thank you ❤. I suffer from carpal tunnel in both hands. Additionally, trigeminal neuralgia is suspected. I try to eat what you advise. Unfortunately, I am addicted to sweets 🙁 I try so hard but the sugar defeats me 😢 Thank you again.

    Good morning. Thank you Dr. Furlan. I downloaded the handout. Not enough beans in this House so will try to incorporate more. We eat so much chicken and turkey and fish we have feathers under our arms and we are sprouting fish gills too! Have started cutbacks on coffee to once daily, sworn off of salt. Giving up Splenda and Sugar will be most difficult.

    Alpha lipoic acid and vitamin B complex supplements help with neuropathic pain, I have trouble eating the foods since developing CRPS.Foods I ate prior to developing CRPS I can no longer digest. Seek out reputable brands of these supplements to help too. The foods to avoid are a challenge though;but it is good Dr. Furlan is honest about the diet and encouraging us to eat right to get the neuropathic pain controlled!

      @@carolynarnott5002 It seems to help me .I did try to stop taking it and the pain intensified again. My skin on toes and feet feel hot and turn bright pink. I only take it once a day now , in the beginning I took it 2x a day. During my flare periods of CRPS the burning and bright pink skin is there the whole time(sweating too). Ask your doctor to recommend a dosage to try for your condition. Mine was 150mg in a.m. and 150mg in pm. Some people take more. But I take B Complex also and prescriptions too. Good Luck

    I do pretty good with including all these foods because of being Vegan but my downfall is Chocolate and some sugar and Coffee. I have Arthritis pretty bad as well as nerve pain.This is all very helpful information!

    To anyone suffering with this pain GO TO A CHIROPRACTOR. My sister suffered the worst pain of her life when the pandemic started. We suspect it started because of the vaccine we took. The pain in her feet kept her awake at night, every night. Even if she managed to sleep (which wasn't much) she was still in pain. Her pain would travel with her whenever she drifted off. It only got better when she started going to a chiropractor.

    Muchas gracias excelente información. Me viene bien pues tengo 4 hernias cervicales y creo que me han afectado mis nervios de los brazos : codos y lumbares ; nervio ciatico.
