Almost no one is low on Magnesium which is why no fortified breakfast cereals or even single ingredient dry pasta in a box is ever fortified with Magnesium or Potassium. They do fortify these with B Vitamins and Iron but never Magnesium. So think about that.
Can you take a few of those together? Like glycinate, citrate, oxide, succinate and L-threonate?
What good for high acid in the stomach
I took 4000 Magnesium for Fibromyalgia for over a year, dropped it down to 3000 ,,dropped it down the next year,l have been healed for years now, My brother told me that’s what his step daughter was told to take,he took her to Doctor’s all over California, found the right Doctor
What units? 4000 mgs (= 4grms a day)… that seems a lot?
Which magnesium did you take
4000 or 400?
Ty so much for this info doctor. I lost a baby to preeclampsia in 2021, and was surprised to find out i was pregnant again this year.... Needless to say, the fear struck me, and for a while, i was unable to enjoy the blessing at all. I'm now in my third tri and struggling a little with my BP some days. And i came across your videos when seeing what else could help, and they hve been much help. I also send them to my family & friends who also have HBP or A-fib. Please continue to do what you do and keep watering us 😊 God bless you & all who read this. Thanks again.
Stay blessed
Best wishes
I just started taking magnesium for night leg cramps. So far no leg cramps 😂. I golf for exercise and after 18 holes I am not fatigued like I used to be.
Thank you for the detailed explanation of what and how magnesium works in the human body. I am 73 years young 😅.
Which type of magnesium did you take? So glad it has helped. I've lived 7 years in chronic pain, it's awful.
Can i ask what brand did you take thanks
@@leeoconnor123
Did you ever find out which kind for leg cramps?
I have a 4 types of magnesium in 1 tablet
Is that ok.before that i took only magnesium citrate
Should I take Magnesium oxide for leg cramps ?
I'm glad to see so many doctors finally catching on. My Doc taught me this in the early '90s! She was considered a quack and even investigated by the FBI for giving false advice! Now things like NAC, Mag, COQ10, chelation, and H2O2 therapy, among so many others, are pitched by every good Doctor! Way to go, Dr. Braun Dallas, Tx! I don't know if you are still out there somewhere. But God used you to save my life!
Agree so glad finally talking about taking suppliments. Long ago in 70s they just wanted to take all suppliments off the shelf and in 90s also. Glad to hear talk about taking them now.
What people don’t know they don’t know. My daughter had strep and my husband refused to give her antibiotics!
Importantly, if you have Dupuytrens Disease, you should get your Mg level checked. I feel an imbalance vs calcium is causative.
I have looking for this information for years. Bits and pieces, never put all together. Thank you! 😊
Dr. Jin you’re a dream come true I felt like I was in med class 101 I’m so grateful I came upon your video love learned so much from you about magnesium and my body like never before thank God for your existence because millions of people are so misinformed it’s pathetic I thank God for you God bless you and your family!!!!!!!!!!
Somehow you are so easy to listen to, Dr. Jin. This means I can "listen and learn" and actually consider what you are teaching. God bless. 🙏
Brief n accurate ❤
Also a friendly, calming voice/manner. He’s great, and I am grateful.
I concur,Kathy. 🙏
I really noticed that too! Wow...great to realize this. Thanks for pointing it out!!!
For sleep take which? For arrythmia take which? For high everything lipid is which? For brain/cognition is which. Lordy I am goi g to sleep tonight pray this works. Vit D is19!!!

I really appreciate how Dr. Sung gives such in depth details and explanations in his health videos .I always learn something from his videos.
If I took that much glycinate I would be in a coma. 😜
Too bad his real handle is Dr Jin father than Sung wherever u got that from I dunno! Lol
First time following this site. This physician seems very legit to me. No hyped dramatic claims etc. I felt as though I was listening to an actual lecture, I took notes for my own reference to inform my nutrition and determination to not need
medications ….by intentional nutrition to support positive overall health. At 74/I do not require any meds, tightening up my nutrition to keep it that way
This is somebody I would consult ….and I am very picky. Glad I stumbled on to
his site….Subscribed
Thank you - you’re a good presenter and easy to understand. Great work you are doing. Thank you for your authenticity
The BEST Magnesium video I’ve watched. Thank you so much.

I looked for years to understand magnesium and this man explained it in a few minutes .excellent with ,thank you so much ,,kiss kiss
Thank you for the comprehensive guide to the different forms of magnesium and natural sources.
Wow! Great video. The best one I have seen on magnesium! Thank you so much. Will be watching this again and saving to my playlist
Great job Dr. Sung thanks alot for your clarity and help.
Thank you Dr. for much needed information as most Dr’s are too busy and overwhelmed so it’s hard to take the time to inform their patients like you’re doing and it’s easier to write prescriptions. My issues are with hypertension, anxiety, constipation and depression so it appears as though my magnesium levels are low. I will have bloodwork done to confirm. I truly appreciate your patience, videos and general help. Thank you so very much and God bless you and your family. ❤❤❤
Thank you!! we're talking elemental Mg+ at 300 to 400mg. So the pills of mg-taurate or citrate or other are much higher. Magnesium taurate contains approximately 8.9% elemental magnesium by mass, which means that 500 mg of magnesium taurate provides about 44.5 mg of elemental magnesium. Taurine is great for good health.
You’re Excellent, Dr.Sung.Thank you.
The issue with foods high in magnesium is that they are also high in Oxalates. Read Sally Norton’s book on toxic superfoods
Such as spinach!
yea. i was curious as to why he did not mention meat levels of mag. is he a vegetarian or is meat that low in mag?
But it's safe to take the pills right ? They dont have oxolates right
you mentioned the "F" word dude, food 😊 .. well done btw .. magnesium supplementation is invalid compared to eating healthy 'full-spectrum' foods like organic dark leafy green vegetables, cashews, pine nuts, peanuts, almonds, pecans, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, brazil nuts, walnuts, beans, avocados, bananas, figs, apricots, dates, raisins
and min 70% cacao-content organic dark chocolate
@@mikenorledge4110 It depends on the soil that all these foods come from.
Thank you for making such informative videos regarding health, supplements, etc.

A lot of foods high in magnesium are high in oxylates such as spinach, chocolate, almonds, quinoa et al.

Thank you very informative. Can you do a video in reference to Menopause?
I take magnesium, potassium, and B, D vitamins religiously, after taking statins and they made me incredibly stiff. Since then I''m not as sore, more active, no antidepressants. So much happier life.
Stop the statins
Doing something religiously makes one feel better. A little faith never hurts 😊
Hopefully, u are also taking Vit K2-MK7 with the Vit D3. It's very very important. Look it up. 🙌
@@sueleahy1457 I do actually. From what I understand it helps significantly on keeping our blood vessels from calcifying.
Did you still take magnesium for depression? How do you feel now? Still off the meds? Thank you
Thank you so much for your information ❤
i really appreciate Dr. Sung for explaining Magnesium. May i know if there is a Magnesium supplement that contains Citrate, Glycinate and Theonate?
I have learn so much about magnesium today thank you so much DrJin
I’ve been watching dozens of these videos, but this one in particular I found the most informative. Dr. Jin not only provides detailed information, but his technique of delivery allows non-medical folks to easily understand the mechanics behind magnesium. He clearly explains the dose rate under various conditions. Now I’m less paranoid about taking this stuff. I also like that he also addressed the mixing the magnesium types, and the half-life of 1000 mg was helpful to know.
GREAT VIDEO, THANK YOU.
Great tips and video! ❤
I usually take glycinate on some days and citrate on the other days so as to avoid the dependency of citrate on bowel movements. Also as you rightly suggested, on some days the supplement is avoided as the mineral stays in the system for more than a month. A combination of foods rich in magnesium (not dark chocolates) should also be considered with good sun exposure and moderate exercise and a good sleep with home made food is all someone needs to stay healthy. As always, thank you Sir, for your valuable suggestions and advice.
I am looking for a magnesium supplement that will help me with sleep, as well as digestion. I currently take magnesium oxide, but I was told magnesium glycate is best for sleep, and magnesium citrate is best for promoting bowel movements. I would prefer to take one form of magnesium rather than three different pills is there such a thing? I’m afraid of taking too much magnesium! mag citrate for healthy digestion, Mag glycinate for sleep?
@@HH-gv8mx Mg Glycinate can also be used for constipation but you may need to adjust the dose on "those days". Milk of magnesia is also helpful if taken at night. You can actually mix it in water and sip it all day - avoids the cramping.
Why not baker's chocolate please?
Thank for saying you take two different kinds I’ve been asking if it’s possible no one replies

Very informative. Thank you
Thank you great explation.. understand very well.

Thank you very much. You explain very clearly thank you also for that.

Thank you Doc.
Magnisium L-Threonate is showing effectiveness with neurological issues.

i think the L-Threonate is helping my depression!
Dr Berg does a brilliant video on this
I need that Amino Acid in my arsenal.

Thank you Dr. Sung for this comprehensive and informative video on magnesium.
This is such a great video and explains it very well - thank you! If you buy supplements with magnesium from food sources is this just as good?
THANK YOU!! Will try for migraines.
Thanks so much!❤
My pcp doesn’t check magnesium when checking yearly labs. Another provider recommended taking magnesium so I’m watching videos to learn more. Really like these videos!
thank you for the info🙏
Almost everyone talks about magnesium. But no one talks about the different types of potassium carbonate, chloride, and others can you explain more about it please.
Thank you doctor ❤
