I got my R7 because it is much more practical for street use compared to my over powered R1. I love my 04 R1 and the weight displacement of it but on the R7, I can actually use all of the power from first gear to the last gear when driving on highways and city streets, without collecting a bag full of felonies
I think it’s great you’re working on some of the smaller bikes as it’s definitely a popular option for alot of people especially the ones just getting into it. I think it would be great to get your magic done on some 600’s as well since that’s a big crowd. You guys can definitely make a 1000 shine. Thank you for everything you guys do 👍🏻
I would not call it a beginner bike at all, it not just about the power but also the position and very responsive chassis is not very beginner freindly at all. Maybe if someone grew up on dirt bikes and was switching to this, but not a first time rider. I would call it the lower end of intermediate. Someone coming from an Ninja 250 or CBR300R or CFMOTO 300SS (like my partner) or R3 or dirt bike or even a Ninja 300/400 could really use this to sharpen their skills and might find that's its enough to keep them entertained long term with some mods. 9-11 k all in off the floor is a big commitment for a new rider as well.
It's my first bike. And I would agree kind of. If you take any kind of safety course and have 2 braincells to rub together, this is a fantastic first bike. I will have this bike for 2 or 3 years and then get a liter bike. It took me about 6 months to completely feel out the bike and now my skill is the limit. Fantastic first bike for people with common sense.
@@jerrybay8108 there is an amazing amount of people who don't have two brain cells the rub together that want to ride bikes and utterly fail during required courses in the UK, some people have natural skills, majority don't.
i bought this bike like a week ago as a second bike. i started on a rebel 500 and only had it a month before i switched to an indian scout rogue. i kindof always wanted a sport bike, but i am sure glad i did not start on one. I never really saw the point of a liter bike, as you can do freeway speeds in 1st gear. I am in no way a speed demon that is wanting to go 150+ down the freeway - minnesota roads.... and i think the R7 is a perfect fit for someones second bike, especially if their first is NOT a sport bike. The only move i can see myself making anytime in the future would maybe be to a inline 4 600cc bike. for people who only ride on the road, that is about as big of a bike as you need.
Awesome video Troy! Even though the gains weren’t super substantial, it seems as tho it really opened it up and made a worthwhile difference! 😎👍🏼 Question for you guys - now that you’ve made a video and are tuning R7’s for customers, would you be willing to do the same for a CBR650r if you can get your hands on one? That’s what I have lol 😂 I’m a beginner and imo they’re great bikes! Would seriously be so awesome to see/have done! 🙏🏼
They are super cheap to get and unless you get the large ones; you can't see anything out of them. Even the large ones is a bit hard to see out of. Stylistically tho they look amazing. I have a pair of them on my 2023 Ninja 650.@@lennox2651
Hey buddy I’m a newb, what did you mean when you said “you don’t want to go in the lower rpms, it’s not like a liter where you can just power through it?
R3 is more fun and lighter than this expensive slug? 10k for this? lol, I got a used 2018 R1 for 11k with 6k miles in 2021. Why would any sane person spend that much on this R7?
i absolutely hate when creators do that. It is not even attempting to be in the same league as a 1000. compare it to the R6 or zx6r all you want, but comparing it to a 1000 is like comparing bicycle to a sports car.
funny how its a r7 and they say a beginner bike lol. i thought the higher you go on a bike the faster it is. how the r6 110hp and the r7 less hp and r1 198hp just get an r3 lol
We should just use the out the door price because nobody actually pays $9k for it out the door
Yeah, more like $10.5-12k
Exactly. All these bike reviews and everything always says you can own this bike for OnLy 9,199. 😂
10,5 out the door recently

Amazing in depth video as always🙌🏽🙌🏽 Bren Tune on top🔥
what was the use of dyno tuning this if u dont even put a new full exhaust on it?
Intake and exhaust on this bike (and XSR/MT) does really well in the mid range.

Loads of potential in this R7 for a beginner rider , no riding modes and no cruise control is a No … No …
You guys tune R7, but no 2017-2020 r6?🤔

what would you choose? rs660 or r7?
rs660 100%

well shit!....this mf does a really good job describing the bikes riding ergonomics and abilities... definitely worth subscribing!
So if I have a full system but also buy this flash I’ll have 70hp not 68 or does it not work that way I feel like it needs a second tune right ?
Dose the r7 have ram air duct ?
My Kawasaki ZX4RR (400cc) has 71 horsepower, it sounds better, it's more fun, I recommend it.
I believe you can gain 4 horse power by removing the snorkel

Wow, 2018 with 6k miles, you don't know if those miles wore down the engine, typical people going after cheap high mileage bikes
Not everyone is so poor and counting pennies like some
Cheaper when u buy the turbo that destroys the 660s
They got a turbo kit made for the R7 Yamaha They puts it to 125 hp. I think it is
Not quite that high, should be about 100hp.
@@jerrybay8108 I checked it out so yeah you right just the turbo kit you’re hits around 100hp but with some internal work, you can push, 125hp
Not heavy?? My R6 weighs less... What are the internals made of? Cast iron?
414 wet weight, weighs like 4lbs more lol
