    I’ve had 600s…1000s and honestly my r7 is my top bike…like you mentioned..way more usable power and honestly comfortable for me. It’s great on fuel and a very reliable engine… the only complaint I find myself thinking about is if it had a little bit more power…but than I look back and think I’m at that age where I don’t need to be going 160+ anymore…I’ve had mine 21 months and have over 15k miles! Do not regret getting it ❤

    I have a 2023 R7 and I think it is great for the streets. It might not have the top speed of the R6, but the 0-60 times are pretty much the same. I'm 46 years old and I honestly don't care about the top speed. The acceleration is pretty fun though.

      I am 58 and had my fill of 160+mph bikes when I was younger, the R7 with the proper mods gets from 0-100 almost as fast as an R6. My biggest issue with the R7 is it makes me want to act like a 20yr old kid and go do some track days again LOL. 😉🤘😎🏍

    the ones who hate on it all think it’s an R6 replacement. it’s not an R6 replacement, it’s a different model for the city and suburbia. until the R9 comes out, the R7 will remain the definite city sportbike, no need to rev it to shit, doesn’t cook your balls at red lights, has power on tap, all that city goodness. it’s not for the straight line highway bois.

      the R9 will still disappoint them. those R6 riders can never be pleased unless the replacement is another 4 cylinder engine. the 3 cylinder mt09 engine makes less horsepower but more torque. they will cry when their R9 goes 10 mph slower than their R6

Good Value for money 3. I didnt to want kill myself. Never did a test ride, just bought it. put 3 grand into accessories and I made it my own. Do not regret my purchase!! My brother rides a 1050 speed triple and is JEALOUS of my bike........My brother has been riding since he was 18 and is now 52, still says my bike is better than his. Excellent review and the LCD screen is definitely a shortfall and on point. It's a great track bike as I have taken it on smaller tracks as well as COTA. Yes, 600cc inline 4's will pull away on the back straight, but if you have track experience, and the 600cc riders aren't as experienced, you will be rewarded after the back straight when you overtake on the curves. If you want a fast straight line bike, get a Diavel or an H2R. for small tracks, the R7 is an excellent bike for both new and seasoned track riders.

    It is a lot of bike to grow into while not being to much for beginners. I think it is a great bike. It just doesn’t compare in anyway to the R6, which isn’t a beginner bike or not nearly as budget friendly. The difference in yearly cost between a 2018 r6 and a 2023 R7 is argument enough for the r7. It just doesn’t compare. Better suspension would have been nice but it really isn’t necessary, even for track riders.

  • @smcd5772
    @smcd5772 Місяць тому

    Mostly because of the massive crater-sized gap left by the departure of the R6. The R6, like the R1, was a definitive YZF-R sportbike. Screaming inline fours with superbike and supersport respective HP numbers, aluminum spar frames and swingarms, fully adjustable suspension, the whole nine yards. Then Yamaha slaps an "R7" on what is essentially an MT07 with flashy running shoes, and we're expected to accept it as an "evolution"? It isn't. At least not the one we wanted. And yes, there's more to the R7 than just a set of plastics on an MT07. But it's still a steel frame, steel swingarm, lower spec, limited adjustment suspension, and the lower price point fit and finish of the MT07. Not bad per se, but not to the levels of the YZF-R sportbikes of yesterday. Brand new riders have no frame of reference, so to them, the R7 is just fine. And that's ok. But if the question really is, "Why does the R7 get so much hate?" The answer is that many of us remember and owned the R6 or R1. They defined superbike and supersport. They were focused, flagship models, and premium motorcycles. Yamaha can call it whatever they want, but a 70-hp parallel twin- and a great engine at that- in a steel tube frame with mid suspension just isn't a YZF-R sportbike to a lot of riders. Feels similar to Ford calling the Mach-E a "Mustang" or Yamaha again, classifying all the MTs as "hypernaked". Should you buy an R7? I dunno, it's your money do what you want. Yamaha makes great products. Just understand why your neighbor or buddy with the R6 goofs on you a little bit.

    I actually like the R7, fill it up with 87, great mpg's, and get the sportbike experience to some extent... but if your gonna get a sportbike... why not the CBR600RR? IDK, its up to you, if you want more power and have to fill your bike up with 91 premium, the CBR is waiting for you... and so is that GSXR and ZX6R I hear...

      It's Yamaha's loyal customers that feel betrayed from the R6 being discontinued for road use.
      Being the more hardcore faction in the biker world they are making the most noise.
      I can see where they are coming from but we are merely a few years away from the death of the internal combustion engine alltogether and they still haven't got the memo, we're lucky to be able to still have a bike as good as the R7 in 2024.

      those bikes are not even in the same price range plus its a whole diff category ppl who get the r7 usually uses it as a steping stone to get to the 600s or 1000s as im doing with my A2 lisence in europe. yall gotta think before you write dumb stuff

      @@IShadow__PT Price range for sportbikes/supersports is irrelevant now. Insurance rates are through the roof, so unless you have $$$ to begin with your not buying a sportbike/supersport period. If you can afford the Insurance and tickets and gasoline to enjoy the experience, then you can afford $1000 to $2000 more dollars for the bikes I mentioned over the R7.

      @@christosswc Yamaha didn't do anything. The strict emission laws is what killed the R6 and now the R1. The only people betraying Yamaha fan's is the government that is helping to shape and ruin the world we live in.

    It’s a fast little rice burner with base model standard equipment and it screams “I watch biker boyz” on a loop in my mom’s basement. Be a man and buy the mt-07 💯

    The R7 is objectively good, but they shouldn’t have replaced the R6 with it.
