I think it’s definitely more noticeable on snare drums, particularly aluminum and brass shelled drums. I also think the thicker the shell, the more it stands out. My 6.5x14 3mm Trick aluminum snare sounds magical with the COB hoops from DFD than the COS it ships with. Just my observations. Cool video!
Nice video. I have one drum that has brass hoops. It's an old, old, wooden Slingerland. For me, it sounds great, but I don't know how much of that has to do with the hoops.
I love these kinds of tests. Thanks for the material. 👍🏾

Right on!
Hi, is chrome over brass instead brass only :)
Clear over solid brass hoops in 14''/10 lugs configuration are sold out on your website. When will they be available?
Those are discontinued by the manufacturer, unfortunately.
for a steel snare, what's going to get me the loudest brightest most attack? brass or steel triple flange hoops?
die-cast.
Is there any difference between how the clear over brass and chrome over brass ring/sing?
Also, is there any difference between the durability/integrity of the rim's shape against rim shots?
No major difference that we can tell.
Regarding durability, brass is softer so it can bend over time from extremely hard rimshots.
You have an expander/gate engaged which cuts off the hoops ringing and hiss.
Dude ,grab a good magnet to see which iswhich.
Thanks for the tip
