Watching with eyes closed, I couldn't even tell you which drum was which, let alone which hoops were which. Double-blind random testing is very different than UA-cam videos. I'll stick to durability, ease of tuning, weight, and affordability, then modify my touch to get the sound I want. Obviously if something is beautiful to look at, it affects how you play, but it's not an excuse to buy new gear if you can't justify it via blind testing.
This proved even more to me why i LOVE s hoops!!! My fave tone blindfolded on both snares.
Would have loved to hear the cross stick sound for each hoop, but thanks for the great comparison video! :)
Excellent comparison video! Thank you..Very clean playing as well!
Awesome content
Try to locate marching snare super heavy die cast in 10 lugs please
Even the choice of snare is damn versatile!
Awesome video! What the difference between zinc and steel die cast hoops?
Great work guys!
I’m struggling to hear the differences. I can hear slight differences in the amount of overtones maybe?
Well, I went in with an open mind (ears) and discovered that I'm still a die cast guy 👍
Thanks for the video
What's the snare from the intro!
I feel like there was not enough space in between plays so we can really hear the snare resonate... But thx for the video it give a good idea!
just bought 2 3mm gibraltar chrome/steel power hoops
Where did you source those brass hoops?
i've seen this one!
I never liked how diecast hoops made my drums feel. Always liked the liveness of triple flanged
Those straight brass ones were incredible. But god I hate triple flange
1:50 mk does it for me -

I think 1.6 is one of the most musical rims, and at the same time they are not very durable
