    I am a self taught mechanic of over 30 years in the field. Helping people save money and stay safe on the road is what I am here for. If I can pass that along in my videos, that would make me feel even more accomplished. I am rather old school and do not really do things by the book, for this reason, I do not claim to make "Instructional" videos. My videos are for entertainment purposes only. Please use safety and knowledge when doing your own repairs. ~ Ben - MegaMiles

    Just purchased a Hercules 1/2" Compact Impact. Harbor Frieght had a special deal: Tool with 5 amp hour battery and fast charger for $106.99 out the door

      Just noticed I grabbed an impact driver 😢 and not the 3/8” impact wrench. Probably keep it and go get the 3/8” . Box was in wrong spot and I wasn’t paying attention

      @joeb3647 more than likely you can take it back and swap it. Harbor Freight is cool like that.

    I was looking at milaukee but with how great these tools have performed on the torque test channel I had to at least give them a try.

    Really good video, and important information. I also have had quite a lot of failures of Milwaukee electronics in my M18 tools, with very light commercial use. There are people referring to the Hercules as budget tools, but they are not a budget tool. They are not inexpensive, and their reliability appears to be higher than Milwaukee.

    Harbor Freight rules!
    just signed up for the 1 yr. membership.
    my new hobby is gonna be collecting tools!
    After my Father passed back in 19', Ive been the man of the house and have had to amass quite a collection of tools.
    My Dad had the basics. 60 gal air compressor. impact. basic hand tools.
    He had a collection of Bosch battery tools.
    I stuck with Bosch cuz we had batteries.
    I will continue to stick with Bosch as i have grown accustomed to the brand.
    however, in the future, i will try my hand at saving money and will buy Hercules tools to get a collection going. I will only buy with coupons as well! My Bosch tools will be my main go to at home, but the Hercules seems to be the ones i will take with me on travel jobs. working with friends etc...
    at home im working remodeling a mobile home.
    just got a 2011 ford fusion to restore.
    planty of other hobbies that will require MANY MORE TOOLS!!!

      Thats much longer than any of my Milwakees lasted! And dont even get me started on how many batteries and chargers I wouldve went through too.
      Hercules is a great product with a great price tag!

      @MegaMilesBen my 2.5 ah batteries are still going strong! I've left these out in the rain a few times too. Can't wait to use the 5ah battery I just got. Heck my 2.5ah lasts longer than my 4ah ridgid lineup

    I’m tiptoeing into the Hercules line. Abandoned my Ryobi tool bag I got as a gift years ago, but 1 at a time and swapping in Herc tools. Not sure what to do about impact wrench and Drill, those two I have in Ridgid and are nice… but I hate having multiple batteries.

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  9 місяців тому +2

      For my shop, Ive switched all my power tools, except 2, over to hercules. Ill be switching my grinder and sawzall next.
      I took my milwakee and other ones home for my garage, theyre retired lol.
      Im extremely happy with the hercules line up. Havent had to replace anything yet. With my milwaukee, the gun started grinding, I went through 2 chargers and I think 5 batteries in the first year - year and a half.

    im inbetween the smaller size of the compact or the new ultra torque. i can afford either but dont want to waste $189 on the ultra torque if i dont need it. i mostly just do brake jobs/struts, smaller repairs on me and my wifes vehicles. is the size of the compact best for the job or should i just go ultra torque and have the peace of mind it'll get the job done?

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  5 місяців тому

      If youre only getting one, Id recommend the utra torque. The regular gun wont bust free some lugs or strut bolts if over torqued. They make a great team togther.
      If your ok with busting out a breaker bar now and then, the regular gun would do you just fine.
      The ultra is a lot bigger though so keep that in mind too. You cant get it into smaller spaces.
