My husband used to purchase juice concentrates in cans. The idea was to add water and the can to a pitcher to make the juice. This would horribly stain the plastic pitchers. One day I decided to fill the pitcher with the hottest water I could and added a scoop of Oxiclean and left it to sit. I checked it a couple of hours later and the stain was gone completely. I washed the pitcher and had it for many years later.
I used the gator grip and the tiger wrench to put together a weight bench just yesterday. Some hate the gator grip but being able to throw it into a driver and quickly tighten up some bolts is very handy. These type of tools are great for a guy like me who has the proper tools but don't want to dig through a messy tool box.
My dad was a boat builder, and he has had a set of them since they first came out. With old wood boats, they will eventually need to have all the fasteners replaced. Most of the time, electrolysis has eaten away the head of the fasteners. Before we got the speedout, we would have to use vice grips to remove them. Unfortunately, the slow process of using vice grips is still the only option.

I used that flex seal tape on the connection from my tub to the p pipe on my trailer and it held for 7 years without leaking. However I tried to use it on a 30 gallon water tank on the outside and it held for like a minute then started leaking from the pressure. I cut a hole in the top and taped it from the inside and it held till the tank cracked from the sun over a year later.
My experience with speed outs is that they don't work in real life applications, usually when your screw head is stripped, it means your screw is stuck, either into a very hard wood, rusted, or somehting like that, you know, hard to get out basically. As you can see the stripped screws here in the video were so loose they tightened up when he used the drilling side of the speed outs. Only reason it worked, and funny enough the only screw that gave a little bit of trouble seemed to be the one that was kind of stuck in there, didn't twist at all when drilling it unlike all the other ones.
@@imnota sure if your willing to spend 10 bucks every 4 stripped screws sure but in most cases theres other ways to get stripped screws out. his tests could have been done with just a pair of pliers and wouldnt have destroyed the tool after half the test was done

Proud gator, grip owner here just stopped to say that I love that product too. I carry it around in my drill/driver box for emergency cases. It’s definitely gotten me out of some time saving issues.
I despise the speedout so much! I went through three sets because the heads kept breaking off and never ONCE did I successfully pull out a stripped screw. It was all in metal fittings for my job, so "maybe" it works on soft wood applications but will absolutely never work on a stuck screw in metals.
The impact gel you remember but don’t remember was sold exclusively to the government it was an insole for shoes that dispersed energy outward remember the guy folding it over an egg and hitting the egg with a hammer and running the egg (also his foot) over with a car tire
Tech tip. Use a can opener to open blister packaging. No cuts, no accidental stabbings, just a smooth opening experience. Edit. How to: Place the edge in the can opener, clamp down and turn the thing that turns until it goes right around. Easy peasy
What I find messed up is I've lost tools and people stole tools but no one stole my damn gatorgrip that I've had since I was 10 lol ( and the best part is I don't remember ever using it)😂
I've had generic easy outs in my toolbox for years. They're a life saver when you need them. The gator grip thing sits in my toolbox. Haven't used it in ages but it is super helpful when you have some weirdly shaped broken thing that won't fit anything else. I'm pretty honestly surprised at the flex tape stuff - might have to just get some of that to stick in my emergency kit.
Some as seen on TV stuff isn't that bad, it's just overly expensive if you get it when it first comes out. I was rather happy with a blanket with arm holes in it called the "Snuggle", a heavy fleece robe basically but reversed, amazing at keeping you warm while sitting on a couch or the like. But if you bought it when on TV it was like twice the price and you paid shipping in most cases... few years latter I got it at Walmart or Target for like $15.
I've bought and still have the gator grip, but to be completely honest, I think it is worthless. I never ever use it. I've tried it, and it never seems to grip properly. It is now a part of the junk drawer and not my tool chest.
I used to keep one of those dog bone multi wrenches in my door pocket of my truck in the oilfield, came in very handy for jumping out and doing quick things so I wouldn't have to dig out wrenches all the time. I only used the gator grip socket for rounded over bolts and oil drain plugs on equipment but it got me out of a few jams.
Just sayin' the speed-out set is worth GOLD! dealing with 2 broke bell housing bolts $10 for NO cussing for 2 hours WORTH IT. destroyed the tool but $10? HELL YEAH!
I watched this video a while back, it breaks down why we don't use the metric system in the US ua-cam.com/video/kUIYI34CdkE/v-deo.htmlsi=YdV0HCq1AkHMLFaA
I have a version of that "Tiger Wrench", but made by Black and Decker. Mine just has the basic 6 sides on each end. Whereas it won't replace a proper socket set, I have actually found it quite handy at times.
I worked factory maintenance for years. I had a raggedy gator grip that i used for stripped bolt heads. It was a real time saver. I had tool boxes full of snap on. But gator came in to save time sometimes.
My gator grip was purchased in 2002 and still going strong! I use proper sockets, but it works great for screwing in hooks, eyelets and other goofy stuff.
First time watching your videos, you’re pretty funny man. This is one of the most genuine seeming guy on UA-cam that I’ve seen lately. Hope you go on towards achieving all your goals. Cheers
The GatorGrip has been a common addition in my family's tools when growing up, especially on a torque wrench, I never knew it was an As Seen On TV tool.
My grandparents had a hole in there pool liner, so to get us through the rest of that summer, I stuck the flex tape on the corner where the hole was. We had to use gasoline to get the tape to come off the concrete
Harbor freight has a wrench similar to that Tiger Wrench. They come in SAE and Metric. I recommend those to everyone who trail rides. I always put the metric version in the toolbox on the SxS. They fit so many things and are pretty inexpensive if you do happen to lose it.
The US never got to experience Horst Fuchs, the German host of As Seen on TV ads, which got dubbed all throughout Europe, and it's such a shame because bro was a salesman.
I've been given the gator sockets a few times. They work on light duty but not much else. Pins break, jam, fall out with too much pressure. Also once they start to get rusty they are dun, done
My wife got us the OG Shamwow a long time ago, the ones we got were as absorbent as the bloke showed on the telly. The material they were made out of was not nice to touch though
Flex Tape is capitol T-rash. Worked at the get go, but cleaning it off for "correct" repair is next to impossible, which you will need to do in only a few months since both the backing and adhesive go brittle very fast (like a slab of dry lasagna). Couldn't easily clean it up at that point either😅 😅😅
And just like that I’ve found a new rabbit hole to go down this is the first video of yours I’ve come across I’m now off to watch the rest of your channel

The cheeky Billy Mays "diss" was rather funny if a bit sad-true at the same time. That said, I LOOOOOVED all those commercials and wish SOMEBODY today in 2024 was just like the old days! Proud gator, grip owner here just stopped to say that I love that product too. I carry it around in my drill/driver box for emergency cases. It’s definitely gotten me out of some time saving issues.
Gator grip breaks easily, speedout is actually helpful. Not the most durable, but works well
I despise the speedout so much! I went through three sets because the heads kept breaking off and never ONCE did I successfully pull out a stripped screw. It was all in metal fittings for my job, so "maybe" it works on soft wood applications but will absolutely never work on a stuck screw in metals.
"Does THIS ever happen to YOOOOOU~?"
(proceeds to drop everything in sight)
*My wife got me the tiger wrench.. I kinda laughed at first, it was in my truck and saved my ass. It lives in there now!* 😂
Jesus christ this video could have been HALF as long
all these "content creator" prolong every for ad revenue bs. greed ruins everything
Gotta hit that ad revenue mark.
Watch on 2x speed. I do that for most videos. I sometimes turn on captions too
It was half as long according to the tape measure
J.C, would have loved it
Flex tape is ice and water shield you'd use on the edge of your roof before new shingles. Just cut down super small.
The impact gel you remember but don’t remember was sold exclusively to the government it was an insole for shoes that dispersed energy outward remember the guy folding it over an egg and hitting the egg with a hammer and running the egg (also his foot) over with a car tire
There's a whole aisle, in the local Walgreens, of items, not available in stores; "only available on TV".🤠
Tech tip. Use a can opener to open blister packaging. No cuts, no accidental stabbings, just a smooth opening experience.
Edit. How to:
Place the edge in the can opener, clamp down and turn the thing that turns until it goes right around.
Easy peasy
Wait, wait, wait.... Is that Ron swanson in the background pic? 😂😂
What I find messed up is I've lost tools and people stole tools but no one stole my damn gatorgrip that I've had since I was 10 lol ( and the best part is I don't remember ever using it)😂
I've never bought a Gator Grip, but I have 2. I don't know where they came from dude.
@@Bl4ckD0git's gremlins. They live to mess with people!
If you didn’t have a gator grip, post Christmas, that means your mom, grandma, or aunt just didn’t love you…..or they didn’t want tv..
Underrated comment
The Flex brand is the real deal. Pricey but worth it.
Sham Wow guy and Billy Maize were the GOAT and no one can come close to their charisma scores. RIP Billy
They all learned from Ron Popeil
Colbert doing the Vax-Scene was the best sell of bad stuff to dumb people ever.
Shamwow guy (Vince Offer, is his name) also got arrested for punching a prostitute, if I recall correctly. Was back in like... 2008 or 2009.
Ya anyone buying the junk they sold has at least one bad plug wire!🤷🏻♂️
TV Guide channel products for a solid 10 year period, are forever GOAT’d
2:45 the snow shoveling 💀
I've bought and still have the gator grip, but to be completely honest, I think it is worthless. I never ever use it. I've tried it, and it never seems to grip properly. It is now a part of the junk drawer and not my tool chest.
I used to keep one of those dog bone multi wrenches in my door pocket of my truck in the oilfield, came in very handy for jumping out and doing quick things so I wouldn't have to dig out wrenches all the time. I only used the gator grip socket for rounded over bolts and oil drain plugs on equipment but it got me out of a few jams.
Lies 0:04 Tom Silva isn't using no speed out
You've been able to accomplish so much. I'm so proud of you brother ❤
Just sayin' the speed-out set is worth GOLD! dealing with 2 broke bell housing bolts $10 for NO cussing for 2 hours WORTH IT. destroyed the tool but $10? HELL YEAH!
You need to be a mathematician to measure. Next rabbit hole: Why is there a reluctance to use Metric
Because we dont use it much here
I watched this video a while back, it breaks down why we don't use the metric system in the US ua-cam.com/video/kUIYI34CdkE/v-deo.htmlsi=YdV0HCq1AkHMLFaA
Can Europeans not understand fractions?
LET’S GO CAULK SOME RANDOM SHIT!
Just discovered this channel, I don't think I've ever laughed so much at someone in a shop since Tim & Al! Subscribed!
I love the Gator Grip. The fact that its been around for 2-3 decades, of course it works.
This is like the first time I've ever seen a gator work 11:04
First time watching your videos, you’re pretty funny man. This is one of the most genuine seeming guy on UA-cam that I’ve seen lately. Hope you go on towards achieving all your goals. Cheers
i bought the speedout years ago, and while most of my stripped screw heads were to small for this tool, i have actually been able to use it once.
Maybe the 48 tools was 4 on each side and 8 total, they just miscalculated by 40, no big deal. Also, yes the handle should have been tiger striped!
Man just found your channel. I love the humor and flash back videos perfect timing. Great humor and nostalgia combined. Keep up the great work!
Speedouts have helped me a ton in the past. I’ve had the same set for 10 years
Harbor freight has a wrench similar to that Tiger Wrench.
That "Why know why he was yelling" with the quick cutaway... lolz.
I've been given the gator sockets a few times. They work on light duty but not much else. Pins break, jam, fall out with too much pressure. Also once they start to get rusty they are dun, done
Is that Ron Swanson's ancestor on the wall behind you?
My wife got us the OG Shamwow a long time ago, the ones we got were as absorbent as the bloke showed on the telly. The material they were made out of was not nice to touch though
Flex Tape is capitol T-rash. Worked at the get go, but cleaning it off for "correct" repair is next to impossible, which you will need to do in only a few months since both the backing and adhesive go brittle very fast (like a slab of dry lasagna). Couldn't easily clean it up at that point either😅 😅😅
I've used flex tape to block a leak in a Jacuzzi tub at a non-working jet. Worked great and sealed for a few years without issue
And just like that I’ve found a new rabbit hole to go down this is the first video of yours I’ve come across I’m now off to watch the rest of your channel
I remember seen a TV Ad about something called the "DUAL SAW". It was a multi-purpose circle saw with two parallel Blades that rotated at opposite directions simultaneously. Its whole Point was offering cleaner, faster, smoother cuts. I've never seen it in action but I'd love to. Thanks, John.
The cheeky Billy Mays "diss" was rather funny if a bit sad-true at the same time. That said, I LOOOOOVED all those commercials and wish SOMEBODY today in 2024 was just like the old days! The ONLY guy today that even comes close to that showmanship is Raiti's Rides who does his "Is THIS the best truck, car, van, bulldozer in all the land?" type of auto-reviews-and-sales!

I just found a speed out kit while cleaning out a junk drawer in my shop, i dont even know where it came from 😂 now I've been waiting to try it out and see if it actually works
for those asking, the metal tape he used to take a measure to the ceiling was most likely a Stanley Fat Max. I own 3 of them and they're the only tape I'll buy.
The Flex Seal commercial will continue to be played until the death of cable 😂😂😂😂. I'm highly surprised it worked on the bucket hole though!
Gotta say, used FLex Tape to cover a flat porch roof we had trouble with for years, too small a job for anyone to take, hasnt leaked since.
