Mining is critically dependant on the ability to fill and empty VRAM as fast as possible. The GPU sits at about 20% utilisation waiting for the VRAM data to be shuffled around. Decreasing GPU clock speed simply limits the power consumption and heat generation, making the cost (electricity) lower.
Electronic devices will run in liquid freon you could then not have any cooling fans and just maintain the cooling of the freon allowing you to run at much higher speeds

I see you use 2 types of risers, and also in the description to the video you wrote that you use a PCIE x8-x16 adapter. can I only use 10pcs ADT risers, without grey risers and PCIE x8-x16 adapter?
Notice that the motherboard only has x8 slots. I don't know if it will work with 10pcs ADT x8-x16 risers. Because without directly insert 3 cards on the mobo, some of the risers may very long. Long risers will reduce more signal. And if you want directly insert cards, the adapter can make the card position higher, so the riser in next slot will have more space to route.

I'm trying to build a multi RTX 3060 rig (I have 1 x RTX 3060 running with my existing 3070 rig and 3 x RTX 3060 spare for a new project).
I just ask was there any issue with running the older C602 chipset motherboard with Windows 10, did you have to install any special Intel PCIe drivers, or did the MS Windows 10 native drivers support this C602 SuperMicro chipset?
I posted in your other video as I had a problem with the ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS which also has the C602 chipset and the RTX 3060's would only drive the PCIe at v2.0 speed. Because of this, the development driver would not allow TREX to mine at full speed.
I haven't install any pcie driver. Just enable 'above 4g decoding'.I'm also running in trouble with a intel s2600cp mobo, it just run pcie2.0.
Planning on building a rig with 6x rtx 3060 12gb, I can't find the 2 motherboards you used in this and your last video. I found the "ASUS B250 Mining Expert" for sale in my hometown, could that work with 1x to 16x adapters? Sorry if it's a dumb question since I got very little knowledge with pc components/compatibility
Nope, i was in the same situation like you, apparently u need to at at least x8
@@nicholastan7044 Oof.. So what motherboard did you get?
@@alek0204 i got this server motherboard asus Z10PE-D8 WS, it has 7 pcie 16x slots, or u can try to find asus x99-e ws
@@nicholastan7044 Thought I could find a cheaper motherboard but now I see there's no way around it. Thank you for the info!
You need 6x pcie3.0 x8 or x16 board to run them. Or multi platforms to run them.
cool shout out from Texas
Most ATX and server PSU have only one CPU cable. So how are you powering both CPU plugs on this motherboard? Are you using a splitter?
No, I'm using a PSU with 2 CPU power cable. Most 850w~ PSU have 2 CPU power.
@@xystudio6630 I see. I managed to figure this out after I made my comment. But I'm curious still about the 4-pin ATX. So you left the additional 4-pin PWR port empty? The user manual for this motherboard says it's not necessary but they still suggest plugging it in.
@@ThatOneScienceGuy Yes, I didn't connect the extra 4pin cpu power. Also you can use 2 PSUs to power this machine. For like a month, I'm utilizing 6x 3060s on this mobo. There are no problem.
@@xystudio6630 Okay thank you. Were you having problems with more than 6 cards on this motherboard?
Bro... do you still need 16x to 8x ADT with 6PIN Power ?
+1 can someone answer this question? I am trying to figure out which risers I need to buy
Did you have network issues setting up this server-board?
No, it worked without any setting.
Like your videos my chinese friend, I have ordered 3060 in my rig as well!
Thanks for sharing this ! I am actually running 2x 3060 on two different motherboards, I would like to buy the right motherboard for getting at least 3X cards per MB. Could you be so kind to share some models ?
Any ATX motherboard with 1151 chip would work ?
Thanks for the info !
please check the official webs of some high end 1151 boards, in the manual, it will say how much x8 will run at the same time
@@xystudio6630 THANK YOU ! That is super helpful information.
I have one last question for you:
Do you experience random pc restart ?
I have a dedicated 3060 pc and I find the driver 370.05 is quite unstable. Pc restarts with no reason in the middle of mining, no specific error message in the log.
I am curious if this is something that happens to me only...
Thanks for the great tips man and great job on your work and helping so many people.
@@davidholderbach Maybe you overclock too much? I'm using -300/1100/75%.
@@xystudio6630 i don t know why but it stabilised. 1200. Lasting bow from 250 hours with no restarts and 1 out of 1k incorrect
What frame/chasis are you using?
Please give links for good risers x16 or x8-x16
I have 1 9GA256 Gigabyte mainbooard. Can I do what you do video ?
I searched for that, and didn't get any infomation.
@@xystudio6630 probably a dumb question, does x16 to x16 risers can be used with x8 slots?
Can you run lets say 6 rtx 3060 and 2 1660ti on the same rig ? Its possible to operate in windows ( due to 470.05 driver restriction ) each gpu power draw individually ? Please help
Nice videos dude! Do more
I have the restart issues too. I have 2x 2060s and 1 msi 3060 ventus 3x. I am using t-rex miner with msi afterburner. Can you suggest oc settings for 3060? Thank you from now.

Hi so I have the same motherboard, I have the same RAM, I have the same exact SSD (I bought the one with the same serial number as yours). I installed Windows to the SSD however when I boot from the SSD nothing happens. The screen just goes black when I boot from it, no Windows logo or anything at all. Do you by chance know what the problem might be?
Are you also burning the windows MSDN install iso to a USB stick, and boot from it to install windows to the sata ssd?
@@xystudio6630 I think so. I used Windows media creation tool to create a bootable USB stick. I used this USB stick to install Windows to the SSD.
@@xystudio6630 Forget everything I said. I managed to get Windows 10 installed, MSI Afterburner installed as well as t-rex miner and the NVIDIA developer driver which unlocked full mining ability for the card. My problem now is that the OS is very buggy. Windows keeps crashing and the setup is acting like Windows is too much to handle. It keeps glitching and crashing. Every time I manage to get Windows to boot, the screen flashes black and then I get a blue screen saying Windows crashed. Did you have this problem? Do I need to install more sticks of RAM? I have two 4GB sticks of RAM on it now. Both are installed near one of the CPU. Maybe I need to spread them apart? I'm not sure why it's acting like it can't run Windows. Seems very fragile.
